Because he's going NOWHERE. Where Dreams Begin and Sunshine With Me are Zhong Sheng dramas. Zhong Sheng dramas are serious dramas not idol dramas. They are story focused and have a strong production crew, director, producers, and supporting cast. They are the type of dramas that are sought after by well established actors. Xiao Zhan is now in the big leagues and his career is getting better and better and his fandom is getting stronger. He's an incredible actor and he deserves all his success.
Imagine going on the page of someone you dislike because you're jealous and envious of him. If you don't like Xiao Zhan, that's your problem. None of his peers dream to even come close. He just had 2 dramas air this year. Finished WDB and will start another drama in a week. Including TLP, that’s already 3 dramas waiting to air. And you sound ridiculous saying his image is now boring. He keeps attracting new passerby’s and new fans. If you don’t like him. That’s fine but don’t delude yourself into thinking his image or his career is in any jeopardy.

Johnny Huang’s capital came in. And unfortunately Xiao Zhan signed the contract for Ace Troops before he became popular so he didn’t have much leverage. They cut his scenes and tried to make him 2nd billing but because he didn’t back down and because xfx saw the way he was treated and refused to give the drama heat, they were forced to give him back 1st billing (shared with HJY). But the scenes were never recovered. His contracts are iron clad now. If a drama wants him they have to treat him right. If needed, the script will be altered in favor of him and the drama team is top notch. That’s what happened with TLP. The drama was female centric but they changed it to male centric for him.
Douluo Continent and The Oath of Love did not air during the summer prime time. They didn’t get promotion either. DC especially. Yet it’s 40 episodes garnered 5.5 Billion views with single days breaking 200 million. It also broke 3 on Datawin and topped every chart. Making it one of the most successful dramas of 2021. The Oath of Love broke 230 million single day web views (while airing on TV) and topped every chart while breaking 2.8 on Datawin even though half of it aired during an entertainment ban. Gu Wei has the highest Vlinkage number with 9.35. None of the summer dramas have topped The Oath of Love’s Datawin score or Gu Wei’s character score. The drama is still getting sponsors like Samsung even though it finished airing 5 months ago. So don’t worry about The Longest Promise not doing well bc it’s not airing during the summer. Datawin themselves said that it has been a cold summer. Yxh, bloggers, drama watchers and fans are patiently waiting for the drama to air and will tune in. Regardless of when it is scheduled. Period.
