There's no point in arguing with 'yuta'. So much generalization and prejudice should just be disregarded, it's just nonsense anyway and she/he will just continue to pick a fight without reason. I used to read and watch a lot of BL in my younger days, as did some of my friends. And guess what? We all have close gay and lesbian and even trans friends, we vote for liberal parties and support minority groups and we certainly don't judge other people for a single line comment that's not offensive in any way. So if you want to spread negativity, do it elsewhere.
I don’t understand why people are hating on this drama or the actors good Lord lol (separate actor and character…
Well said, and I watched it four times over the past three years, and I have come to the conclusion that Jae On never lied to her when she asked if he is seeing someone else (because while he's a playboy in the beginning, he doesn't make a secret out of it, and they also never promised to be in a relationship, so he has no reason to lie to her. Besides, it's against his character), and possibly didn't even see anyone else in the entire time he was involved with Nabi (after that first kiss/sex). We are led to believe that he's insincere and he would "cheat" (because that's what Nabi and everyone else expects) but the two times it is implied (Seol Ah and that older woman whose brother punches him), it turns out to be not true. And again, they are not in an established relationship anyway. I think that's why Sol is such an important 'witness' to the relationship. Contrary to everyone else, she's very supportive and tells Na Bi that she thinks Jae On is much better than her ex and they make a cute couple. Why? Because she's the only one who doesn't care for gossip, so she only reacts to what she sees, and Jae On is actually pretty sweet to Na Bi (especially considering they're not even dating). I think the biggest issue here is lack of communication and lack of trust. Had Jae On communicated better and had Na Bi not doubted him from all the gossip (and lies from his ex) they could've evolved as a couple in a much healthier and better way. But well, both of them were immature, and I suppose that's also a point of the show. Regardless, I love the drama for many reasons, despite its shortcomings and will always come back to rewatch.
Finally watched this drama out of curiosity and its really not as scandelous as i expected. Its actually quite…
I agree about the FL, I never thought that her actions were stupid, she just went with it because she really liked him/felt attraction, even though she knew she might end up hurt. However, I disagree about ML being unrealistic, and here's why: I watched it several times, first time when it came out, and I finished rewatching yesterday for the third time. The more often I watched, the more I ACTUALLY paid attention to Jae On and how he interacted with Nabi. Yes, he's immature, and yes, he was originally an extreme playboy. However, he never pretended otherwise, and other than that he is a consistently nice and attentive guy to people around him. And after starting this fling with Nabi, although he didn't want to put a label on it, (possibly because he didn't even know HOW to be in a relationship), he basically acted like a boyfriend and we never saw him be intimate with other girls, or even show interest. Even when Nabi ended it because she misunderstood about him and Seol Ah/the older woman, he didn't revert back to his old self because he genuinely cared for her. Yes, he could have been more outspoken about it, but it's actually Nabi herself who made a lot of rules in the relationship in the first place. She decided to be friends with benefits but did not want anyone at school to know. She ended it from her end, because she couldn't believe him even when he said he wasn't seeing anyone else (as watchers we learn that he didn't have anything going on with either Seol Ah, nor the girl whose crazy brother beats him up). I mean, she also meets up with a guy who obviously likes her (even confesses to her). Her communication was just as bad as his. I am not blaming her, knowing of his reputation of course she was just trying to protect herself, but in all honesty: he was actually pretty decent to her, and he never lied. It was her choice not to believe his words and his feelings. So, what I'm saying is, I am sure there's plenty of asshole playboys who sleep with whomever, but Jae On was genuine about liking her and wanting to change from early on, so it's not a 180 degree turn like a lot of people say it is.
why not? haven’t started this but thinking of watching it…
"I just cannot believe for a second that you would think the FL is unattractive in any way." Han So Hee in my opinion is an incredibly beautiful actress. Saw her in Nevertheless, immediate girlcrush. Everyone has their own opinion.
Finall finished this. Episodes 1-10 were quite entertaining. At episode 11/12, I considered dropping. Like, there can maybe be one or two people ruthless enough to commit murder, but five?? Each crazier and more despicable than the other?! After finishing it, I realize why they had to set it up like this, but it was still unbelievable. Chemistry between the leads was sizzling, I also loved the side character's cute romance, even though it was very subtle. I think quite a few things didn't make sense, like how FL had basically no money (she said she wanted to run away but she only had 700 bucks on her account and she said her bf had already used her credit and whatnot, so she should not have had any savings), but then she does some stocks (she could have barely invested 600 bucks since she still needed some money for living costs until next salary), and suddenly she's rich? How else would she afford that makeover, I mean, she went shopping with Ms Yu only once, but from that day onward she suddenly wore flashy expensive clothes every single day, each of the outfits must've been at least 500 dollars (much more if they were designer brands). That would mean she'd spent more than 10.000 dollars on clothes lol And that final wedding dress, omg, that skirt was basically the size of a car... Oh well, there were more things that annoyed me, but I'll leave it at that. At least the revenge aspects were pretty good at times. Not sure i'll rewatch, though 7.5/10
I actually thought it was a very interesting turn of events. I am not sure they handled it well, but the premise…
To drive a story there need to be some conflicts, though. There would have been no character development had they just left it the way it was until the end. She also didn't seem to be happy in her poly relationship, btw. Like, I'm not against it, to each their own. I am just stating what I saw.
I actually thought it was a very interesting turn of events. I am not sure they handled it well, but the premise of a sudden pregnancy in a polyamorous relationship is quite new.
and the ex and his wife, who were so important, just disappeared from her life. There was no closure for the brothers…
Agree 100 percent, too many lose ends in the end, like how the ex would have happily gone back to FL and been ready to divorce his wife, yet they never talk about it again. How SML never apologized even once for how he got FL demoted and ML fired and threatened to destroy his family. Loved the show up until episode 9, after that it was just a poor melodrama. Disappointing.
Shin Min-Ah is romcom queen for a reason, and here again, the chemistry is just amazing. While not on par with…
While it was supposed to be comedy, the way he treated his secretary wasn't nice for one. He repeatedly overlooked his wishes to be transferred to a different department and acted like an obedient dog to his mother. Writing hate comments was bad enough, but at least he seemed to have sincerely repented and become a much better person, and I grew to like him more as a character. But then he flips his sh*t after finding out about ML's identity, going COMPLETELY nuts, doing a 180, even though he treated Ji Uk like a friend and brother before. And then he dares to threaten Ji Uk to ruin his family and pay him back for 'all the anguish and pain he and his mother had to go through.' Excuse me, you piece of sh*t, how is ANY of that Ji Uk's fault? How about you grow the f* up and stand up to your father instead of taking it out on someone who grew up unloved and as if he didn't exist in the first place when he did NOTHING wrong?!! To top if off, he gets Ji Uk's wife demoted at work, even though she had been a loyal and extremely capable employee the entire time. As the story unfolds, they just keep going with her project idea, which she has been removed from, and the president has the gall to keep chasing around FL's best friend/sister to date her. WTF? The final two episodes are just such a huge disappointment. SML never even APOLOGIZED ONCE for how he treated ML and FL, let alone take back the demotion at work or telling Ji Uk to come back. The closest he comes to acknowledging the fact is when Ji Uk leaves at the airport, and he's like.: 'why are you even leaving?'. And Ji Uk (rightfully so) says: Because you threatened me to leave the country. SML's like: Uh, so much has happened since, I thought we had come to an unspoken agreement. WTF mate? THAT's your apology after ruining your brother's life? Gosh, seriously, writers did a piss-poor job at tying up those lose ends, with the 'scary' father no less. Cannot take it seriously, and the reason why I cannot be happy for second couple ending up together. Ok, rant over....
Shin Min-Ah is romcom queen for a reason, and here again, the chemistry is just amazing. While not on par with Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha or Oh My Venus, it was still a super funny show with great characters. Just lost some steam in the final 4 episodes or so. I seem to be in the minority, but personally I disliked SML. I loved the actor in HTCCC, so I had high hopes for this. Ja Yeon is such a sweet and innocent soul, but SML was a selfish prick. More under a spoiler tag. I may rewatch when in the mood for something funny, but will probably skip second couple’s bits. Ending was lackluster. 8/10.
I agree. There’s a double standard. The FL wasn’t afraid to pursue who and what she wanted. In my book that’s…
I didn't hate the FL, but I am not at episode 10, and she's acting so incredibly and utterly stupid that I cannot overlook it anymore. It has nothing to do with her going for the ML, but she constantly puts herself in danger against all common sense when there is literally no reason to. She could have just called the police or at least superman when she got the text, but no, she runs straight into the murderer's arms.
First two eps were a bit meh, but it picked up after that. Enjoyed the ride so far, although in the middle part…
Like seriously, she gets a text from a missing woman she met ONCE, asking for help and not to tell anyone and comes running over without notifying ANYONE? Not the police not her 'SUPERMAN'? That woman has been missing for WEEKS, presumed dead, literally ALL the witnesses died, and FL knows she's the last one the killer just hasn't gotten around to yet. OBVIOUSLY the killer/kidnapper would have the woman's phone and her contact details, so WHY IN THE WORLD could she be so in-f*ck-credibly stupid to not think it would be a trap? This kind of writing is so sloppy, I mean, with many things, really, why would she take a bus in the middle of the night to the mountains if she owns a car, why would she parade around the neighorhood alone at night when there's a murderer after her, why would the police not get witness protection for the witnesses after they just keep dropping like flies?! There is so much more that doesn't make sense, ugh, honestly, I might just drop it, I don't think I can live with that kind of stupidity.
First two eps were a bit meh, but it picked up after that. Enjoyed the ride so far, although in the middle part it got a bit repetitive. But now. NOW. I'm at episode 10 and typical stupid AF female lead moves make me want to drop this drama so bad. WHY do the writers always have to paint them so stupid, urghhh. Makes me so mad, seriously!
I watched all episodes so far in 2 days. It was about to become one of my favorite dramas this year. And then they go all nuts on us... President Bok Gyu Hyun flipping his sh*t because he found out who Ji Uk really is made me so mad. Like, writing hate comments was bad enough, but he seemed to have sincerely repented and become a much better person. Unfortunately I think he'll have a happy ending with Ja Yeon, but I wish she'd end up with her childhood love instead. He's so petty, he doesn't deserve her.
Yes! Big plot hole, the ex followingnher made no sense
I agree, those scenes were very awkward. At first I thought, because he was 'wrongly-accused', and she saw the original killer (even though not his face), he wanted to talk to her, because he kept saying 'wait, wait' when he was dragged away. But he did attack her quite brutally and overall it was just super messy. The lack of motive for the killer was also a big plot hole, there was no mention of rape. And why the killer came back for the mom just for revenge was also really stupid. She clearly didn't remember him, but he risked being caught just to kill her out of spite? Well, I mean he was a psycho, but still... Would've made more sense if they had perhaps linked him to more cases in the past that made him a serial killer or something. For these reasons I usually don't enjoy mystery webtoons turned drama, unfortunately they are often lacking in that regard, compared to OG dramas or based on novels....
what really bothers me in this show(and most other kdramas) is that they portray its normal to have an unplanned…
It seems you might have missed the point in this drama where the young pregnant high school girl (forgot her name), was dragged to the hospital by her mother to have an abortion. While we didn't see it happen, she later came by the police station to ask for sanitary pads, which implies that she's back on her period and had in fact an abortion. Hence why Jin Hee asks her 'Are you all right (with this)?'. So at least in this drama, they did show both options. Also, I wouldn't say it's portrayed as normal, considering how much criticism and hardships both mother and daughter had to deal with. However, I do find it strange that she didn't tell the father about the pregnancy after he moved away. Plus, abortion in South Korea is still a big taboo, of course times are changing, but back when Eun Mi was pregnant with Jin Hee, it was likely not really an option, considering it would have cost a lot of money. She probably received child support from the government, but I don't think they would have paid for an abortion.
So, what I'm saying is, I am sure there's plenty of asshole playboys who sleep with whomever, but Jae On was genuine about liking her and wanting to change from early on, so it's not a 180 degree turn like a lot of people say it is.
