Neo keeps changing every day, every week, every month ! If you follow him you can notice how he changes gradually (and get used to it). But in this continuous change of his looks there are some phases/cycles after which you say: "he looks different now and yet he looks exactly the same like a couple years ago". That's why while watching Our Times I can still see the same face of the boy from Cambriad Period, I mean it's not the same but I can still see how it is the same, recognize still the same features, I'm even tempted during the scenes to take some screenshots for comparison but I'm to busy now to do so (so I will not post).
I think it's a little bit unfavourable for Neo that "Our Times" got released before "Reading Class". Some people haven't seen him for a long time or some new fans/viewers have never seen his recent looks but only know him through his old dramas. Now they got "struck" by his looks in Our Times (which is so unnatural, they really overdid it here and I don't like it at all). I expect there will be many such comments like yours.
With the promo material issued in August I was hoping for some kind of parallel dimensions in the drama so we could see at least a little bit of modern Hou Ming Hao playing a casual guy in a normal relationship with a modern girl.... Now (after getting familiar with some of the novel's content which sounds rather repellent) I'm not so sure about it, cannot see any mention of it anywhere (it was hinted by some fans of Neo before, sth about two parts of the drama). I mean it's okay watching basketball but it's not Hou Ming Hao playing. Honestly, I didn't watch the previous seasons of Dunk Of China so I naively believed Neo would be on the field. His on-screen time is around 5 minutes out of 125 minutes of the entire ep 1. It's not more than 10 minutes in ep 2 which is 103 minutes loooong...... *yawn* (previews excluded). We could see more of Neo on UM where he had at least some backstage activities with his team, it's not like his bonding with any players on this show. And in terms of basketball it was still more entertaining to watch Super Penguin League where Neo was actually playing in the game.
And with female team leaders here I was also expecting to see female players in action but it turns out the girls are nothing else but cheerleaders LOL. In fact when they get a chance to play they bring complete disgrace upon themselves, so embarrassing and I really really hate watching such clumsy girls represent basketball teams along with managers.
I don't watch basketball on tv anyway so I can still watch it once in a lifetime but basically this one is for CBA lovers, not Neo's talent lovers I guess, you will miss him A LOT watching the show. The other two managers do a lot of chit-chat so they have considerably more on-screen time.

Cannot believe Youku actually did such a good job with subbing in the end (!), too bad they skipped the pilot episode. Considering the sport terminology the english subtitles for the first two episodes are faultless I think. This is also the first season of DOC that can be watched with subtitles :) At least once my grumble has met with the opposite outcome... so I may say I'm glad I was wrong this time, haha :)) It looks like the Thai offensive was effective - points for Thai girls :)

I see now, right after completing TLT2 with Neo in July 2018 they continued shooting with Bai Shu and Zhang Bo Yu until Nov 2018, and then Neo joined the crew again at the end of Dec 2018 to have winter scenes taken

Neo filmed his Changbai part at the very end of Dec 2018 so I cannot be certain a hundred per cent whose body this is but I just feel being fooled here by the director (who was so full of praises for Hou Ming Hao) I don't expect we will ever have any explanation, though
