Those who doubt Neo's kissing skill.... if this is because you haven't watched all his shows, or fast-forwarded or slept through the scenes and missed him in action - I invite you now to my profile where I shared a GIF collection of his kisses from various shows.
These images say it all and although different people may have different aesthetic senses there are some standards and objective level at which we can still evaluate if the kiss is convincing or not.
Neo's on-screen kisses are hot, sensual and gentle, paced and not rushed (Cambrian Period, Psych Hunter, WWW Love Story). The kissing technique is very good. Needless to say he had the first kiss scenes in his debut drama where he was still very young and he learned on the film set. Yet the result was very much convincing.
As to those who doubt Neo's kissing ability because they have a kinky sense of aesthetics (and for example like "snout" kisses or brutal or forced kissing) - well, I have nothing to contradict your opinion, and surely I won't argue with you.
... and on viki website stays the same forever - it is still Neo's old picture dated Aug 2016 I don't know who's responsible for things there, just wonder if there's any chance they will ever replace it
I read the whole novel in three days and I love it. I hope the drama's writers do not mess up badly *praying all…
as for lack of "convincing" kissing as you expressed it, perhaps this is due to the fact he never actually played any idol drama (love theme drama) which is what his fans have been asking from him for years... now this one is a costume drama so probably it won't be enough convincing again as the setting and characters in fantasy ancient dramas give much more fake feeling compared to those in modern dramas but still there should be a passion and as long as they don't dub Neo and Zhou Ye and let us see their acting we will certainly be able to feel that passion and chemistry
it can only be a fail if they kill the leading actors' acting with dubbing

It was the only recent pic of Neo I could find to meet MDL's strict requirements for submitting actors' profile photos, the prev one recommended got rejected because the actor's face was not centered exactly as required by the guidelines (the measurements of the head position from each edge must be taken with a ruler and the crop ratio must be kept as given). I must say the approval stuff are bigger formalists than the passport agency. Ironically it doesn't prevent them from passing fake castlist for rumoured dramas so currently we have 2 "dramas" listed on the actor's profile where he's not involved at all.
