From the beginning, I always see ZZS character as the one who suffers in silence. He always sacrificed himself for others. He knew his martial arts were at 30% and yet he always jumps in to save the people he cared about. He turned himself in to the be captured to protect ZCL and WKX, ran off to find WKX before he was fully healed to confront the Five lake alliance, jumped off the cliff without moment of hesitation. Even though he was saved, he used this opportunity to fulfill WKX's wish to revenge his parent's death. He knew he needed to be at his best to defeat Zhao Jin so he removed the nails. He didn't "punish" WKX bc that just who he is.. self scarifying fool. We have 33 ep of ZZS and his self-torturing so it is fitting for the rest of the ep to belong to WKX. I love the character development of WKX...can you imagine growing up in a place like that? WKX, IMO, only loved Xiang...his only source of humanity...throughout the drama, we saw him opening up to his A-Xu, loving ZCL and all the people that matters to ZZS. At the end, it was WKX who took a page out of ZZS's book and scarified himself.
My mom watched this along with me and her comment was "they killed the heterosexual couple and keep the boys."

I finished ep 36 and was so heartbroken with that "wtf ending." Came on social media to rant only to find out there is a HE in the bonus section. Fans are the best of the best of the best out there....I just want to say thank you for all the tips, the sharing and the comments. Hope to see most of you guys again in another BL comment sections (like 2ha). Off to watch Chinese Paladin since there are rumors GJ may be in the remake.

Bonus: WKX has the martial arts to back up his big mouth (Priest even said that in a fight, WKX would beat YBY)

I haven't read the novel so I have no idea how the Great Shaman supposed to look physically but I LOVE the actor who played the role here. I'm a huge sucker for eyes. Fan Jin Wei has the kindness eyes.

Reading the comments, I saw that some users are very happy with the Douban rating for the drama. Even the production company mentioned that they were crying when they saw the 8.3 rating when the drama was debuted. Can someone explain what it is and why the rating is so important? I can only assume it is like IMDB?

I see where you're coming from. From the time of ZZS's rescue to ep 32, everything was kinda at a fast-forward pace, like the writer "assumed" viewers would know this and that. When ZZS rescued ZCL and spitted blood, WKX was all in murder mood (that was rather hot!). See that I was looking forward to. I wanted him to go crazy when he laid eyes on his beloved injuries and storming out to burn down the palace or something..we got nada! I understand with Wuxi presented, WKX wanted to put his revenge in order so that he can concentrate on taking care of ZZS. There are 4 more ep left so I'm hoping for the best. At least the production cares about the fans and has been very generous, IMO. BTW, I love ZZH & GJ interview! ZZH sounds like a fun person to have as a friend. Did you see the clip where GJ found out ZZH has a dog? The look ZZH gave GJ is priceless.

I think ZZS set fire to the shed because he didn't want these "righteous" people get their hands on WKX's body. Look what they did to Gao Chong.

I'm going to read Lord Seven novel after WoH finished. They intrigued me.

I was disappointed in this character development. I know Chengling is 14 in the novel and to lost your entire family is unimaginable. However, he had shown to genuinely care for both of them. For him to turn his back on WKX is sorta out of character. I expect anger, yelling and him going to WKX to confront him. Plus he had witness how shady and untrustworthy his so called-father-brothers-in-arm are. Unless,... it was part of the plan??!!!

WKX looked so vulnerable and scared. Meanwhile, ZZS was like...no biggie bro. I LOVE ZZH's jaw line in this scene.
