Everytime I watch daniel chan's OST MV I feel sad all over again. Such beautiful song.

The trailer of the movie adaptation looks really great!! The movie should thank the drama version. The best publicity it could possibly have. All fans of this drama are going to watch the movie now I guess, just to relive all the emotions and romance again.

I'm going to watch this one. Hopefully Eternal Love hasn't ruined me yet. I am on Ye Hua's ship but can't help fantasizing how it would be if BQ ended up with shifu.

Does anyone know why the cut out all those scenes in Jouney of flower? And where to find them?

You're welcome. I now also found pillow book, part 1 and 2. Reviews are great, so I expect a lot. I looked for these novels as I read somewhere that YH and BQ wedding takes place in the pillow book and that they have a 2nd child.

I had a hard time too after finishing the drama (and I watched it twice, the 2nd time subbed), so I started to read the novel. I finished the novel in 2 days (it's called To the sky kingdom on Amazon). I would recommend it to anyone who misses the drama.
The novel is written only from BQ/susu pov. The script writer did an excellent job filling in the gaps and stay true to the novel as well. I enjoyed reading about BQ's thoughts. In the drama you only get to hear now and then their inner thougts. It made me view some of the scenes differently (so I'm planning to watch it for the 3rd time). The novel and drama complement eachother. The novel also contains scenes between the main leads that were not in the drama.

The novel also answered the questions I had after watching the drama, like how much time spent susu in heaven or how long stayed YH in qing qui (susu was pregnant for 3 years and YH's coma after susu died lasted for 60 years).

Actually my thought as well. And I didn't like lan ling wang put his country first. Honorable, yes. But I prefer a guy who can give up everything for the woman he loves like Yuwen Yong.

@hirobo, I totally agree with others The intimate scenes are very tame compared to series from the US and Europe. I didn't mean to discourage any viewers by posting my comment. It was a compliment how tastefull it was done.

When I watched the bed scene in ep 44 I had to laugh at the same time. Practical and down to earth I am, I thought, hey... that's convenient if you can remove clothes via magic ;)

Aah... sound of desert. That's the next one on my list :). I simply clicked on top shows and filtered for historic C dramas (helps improving my mandarin). And since I'm chinese I feel more related to C-dramas (although I also had my share of K-dramas and still love them). But maybe I should start with journey of flower? I was also happy with general and I, but I think Eternal Love went a step further since the female lead was reluctant at first and YH simply took away clothes with magic.

Were you guys also surprised by the hot scenes and lines in this drama? Or is this nowadays normal in C-dramas? I stopped watching HK and C-dramas 15 years ago, partly because of busy work schedule but also because I was disapponted so often. All storylines seem the same (especially the cantonese/TVB ones). So I turned to US series (Iove Netflix!). Till 6 months ago. I started again with lang ling wan. I was already surprised then that there was kissing between the leads.

As I live in Europe (small country where people were very OK with nudity on TV 40 years ago and where we consider the US as prude, and we are pro lesbians, gays and soft drugs) I am so happy to see progress here. And I was so surprised to see Mark Chao interview where he tells he left out a line because that was too embarrassing. He tried as the director persuaded him, but he couldn't. When YH married Susu and they first made love he was supposed to say 'don,t be afraid, it will only hurt a little'.... Wow, I didn't realise China has changed so much that these lines are OK nowadays!!! (I haven't gone back for almost 10 years now)

Btw Mark Chao is from canada right? Born and raised there? I wouldn't expect him to feel embarrassed about such line... Although I agree that perhaps it doesn't fit the scene.

I love MY so much because he is not restrained at all in my opinion. He doesn't care what others think. He saves Si Yin from the water dungeon, carries her in his arms, defends her openly, let her hug him etc.

Moondust, I felt the same about the Su Su situation like you. When susu was in the palace bullied by everyone and feeling lonely and betrayed by YH I was hoping for MY to rescue her. I also thought that that would never have happened if MY was around. He would never let anyone harm her. I consider MY almost as a king, respected and being the son of the heavenly father and being the god of war etc. He is not afraid of others and their opinions. YH didn't deserve her (susu) then, although he did it to save her. I consider it as poor judgement which YH regretted afterwards and made up for it. I rather prefer a guy who would choose to die together than let his loved one suffer like that. And MY would be more like that type of guy.

MY is just not that lucky. If he had made it clear he loves her just before the battle the outcome would have been different I guess... It doesn't help when your away for 70,000 years.

I don't feel YH is more agressive in loving her. Circumstances were just different and in YH /Susu's favour. Susu made it so easy for YH to love her. In the 2nd round YH could easily let go of his restraints since they were married before. Like he more or less forced himself upon her (ep 44) and had no problems with that only because they have slept with eachother before. Otherwise he would never have done that I guess?

Anyway, I am suffering from 2nd lead syndrome. Luckily not that bad as after watching lan ling wang (in that drama I wished Xue Wu would end up with yu wen yong and both of them didn't die). I am totally happy with the ending of eternal love but can't help feeling sorry for MY. I wish BQ had a twin sister.

@4. I know 1 day is 1 year in the mortal world. But I wasn't sure when YH came back to SuSu after he disappeared in the woods, how long he stayed. It seems only for one night. It looked like he left again the next morning. But he might have stayed for weeks or months (just couple of hours in the immortal world)

Oh yes... I totally forget ep 27! Loved it so much. OST was perfect as well.

Guys, what's your top 5 favourite scenes?
Mine:
1. When BQ tells YH that she loves him. He got so emotional. And I got emotional when he tells her that he wants another child with her.
2. The angry kiss in ep 43. That was hot!
3. The bed scene in ep 44. That was hot too and totally unexpected!
4. The ending scene. Finally they can be together. I liked YH's costume very much as well. He looked so handsome.
5. All the Mo Yuan / BQ scenes. I'm crying for shifu...

Oh oh... and I cannot leave out the sweet scenes between YH and Su Su.... especially the ones where she get to accompany him and they were undercover.

I'm rewatching this drama but with sub now. I had questions after the first time I finished it but even with sub I still don't understand a few things. Hopefully someone can explain:

1. Why has YH right arm recovered so quickly? I thougt it took 1000 years but he could fight and defeat the ghost lord with his right arm nonetheless.

2. Why has the little girl, li jing's daughter, grown so fast after 3 years or so? A Li still remains little after 300 years.

3. Somehow I don't feel BQ is the maternal type. She didn't visit A Li after YH died until 3 years later or has intentions to take care of him?

4. How many years did YH spend in the mortal world with Su Su. It feels like he only spend one night or day and then had to go back to heaven again (the period when he had to accompany su jin to her people).

Yes. Same here. Watched both. But EL is much better, more romance and one storyline, whilst IF storyline feels like parts they glued together to fill 62 episodes.

I agree. I'm also rewatching the subbed episodes now. Without sub my understanding was around 80%. Now things become clear.
Mo yuan doesn't say much but his expressions and actions all scream how much he cares and loves bai qian. Mark chao really blows me away with his performance.
I just saw ep 52 again and I think mo yuan tried to tell her that he loves her when they are in the wine cellar, but Bai Qian is not picking up any of that. The drama could even be more interesting if Mo yuan actually told bai qian how he feels about her and BQ is having a hard time what to do with this information... but on the other hand maybe I respect Mo Yuan even more that he didn't. However, I can't stop feeling bad for MY because I believe BQ also loves him otherwise she wouldn't have gone this far to save him nor was she so devastated when he died. Like with Ye Hua she needed to be told that what she felt for MY is actually love.

Anyway, I am glad with MY's last scene. When he was smiling at kun lun xu. At least that tells he is at peace and happy for his brother and BQ.
