@jordan. I also believe that Cdramas have more developed plots. I like them better.
I just watched the trailer of Empress of China, curious you mentioned it. But I don't think it's my cup of tea. I really hope you like it. 96 episodes.... wow. Just finished my love from another star. I love the ending, very sweet :)

There is pillow book part 1and part 2 about dong hua and feng jiu. In pillow book 1 ye hua and bai qian's wedding take place. You also find a few more scenes about YH/BQ and Ali (like Ali being upset that YH carries him back to his own palace at night whilst Ali wanted to stay in his mom's palace. YH lied to Ali that he sleep walked back.

Subi, the novel is called To the sky kingdom and you can order it on amazon. The kindle version is around USD 5 (though I live in europe and had to pay EUR 5..). I just posted a comment that Jordan posted the link to miniseries and the epilogue . You can find it few pages back.
I also love YH! He's so loving and caring, the best husband and dad thinkable :)
Many novel fans gave low ratings to FoTD bc they said the drama didn't exactly follows the novel, but truthfully…
@redface. Thanks a lot for all the info! I really appreciate if people take the time and effort to post a comment, especially (lengthy) ones that sheds light on discussions.
I'm now watching the kdrama My love from the star. I guess everyone more or less has watched it except me ;). I'd forgotten that kdramas are much shorter, so I ve almost finished the drama. Actually, I miss the lengthy historical C dramas. There is much more room for side characters, subplots and character development (although the lengthiness is at the same time a downside if a drama sucks).
I think I wait a few more eps and then give fighter of destiny a try. Would be nice discussing it with you here :).
Anyone else feel bad for Li Jing? I did. Yeah he messed up bad but he was always a good guy; just a victim of…
@reta. I believed that BQ loved Mo Yuan and he loves her. If you go back few pages you'll find an earlier discussion we had about this (I believe it was Moondust who also wrote a lot about it) and why I came to this conclusion.
Guys, a few pages back someone (Jordan) posted a link to the mini series and epilogue of the novel. I really love them, so funny! YH is the best husband ever and Ali is so adorable :)

Subi, I was the one who posted the same question (and some other) a while ago (after airing in China). And someone gave me the same answer, but I'm doubting. I wanted to check the novel if YH also used his right arm there when he fought the demon lord in the end. I'm not sure. If not, then I think it's an intentional loophole? Action scenes are difficult to shoot. If Mark also had to use his left arm (while he is right handed), the action may not have looked that great. That's my pratical explanation.
it's been almost 2 months since I finished this drama and I still can't get over it! I still rewatch…
Same here. Although I'm not rewatching any eps or favourite scenes any longer (I rewatched it 3 times and read the novel almost twice...). I finished the drama immediately after airing in China, almost 2 months ago. Can't believe I'm still here, but I love reading the comments and discussions. I'm watching the Kdrama My love from the star now. An old one, but very entertaining and top rated as well. But I love historic dramas more.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate the person who gave the voice for Mark Chao! The voice really eleveated…
I liked Mark's voice actor too. I read on dramafever that the leads in EL had the same voice actors as the leads in princess wei young. Especially Yang Mi's voice actress is brilliant. She is the most sought after voice actress. She also did Angelababy's voice in general and I. Though I would never have recognized the voice, cause it sounds so different in EL/General and I/princess wei young. Or is it just me?
I'm at episode 3 and I think the second prince is freaking hot!!! *çççççççççççç*
I agree. He is very handsome. His costumes are also the best. I didn't like Ye Hua's black cloacks. Except in the final scene. That costume looked great on him.
Eternal love and i started on a wrong foot, i tried watching it the first time but it failed to catch my attention…
To add to Jordan's comment, I think the fox clan are quite laid back. They love their children, but they aren't really strict it seems. Also when it comes to choosing partners. They are not bound to rules. I remember a line in the drama (or was it in the novel?) saying that even if children are born out of wedlock that is fine. As long as two people love eachother. I guess in that line of thought they trust their kids will be fine? And in the final episode when she got up on to her feet again after having slept and dreamt for 3 years she was about to visit Ali in the Sky palace.
I had to laugh in that scene when YH and BQ had an argument about Ali being drunk. Bai Qian told Ye Hua not to be so protective otherwise Ali would turn into in wimp. I appreciated that things are the other way around in this drama. BQ has a relaxed, lazy personality (and she was very mischievous when she was a young fox). On top of that she can't cook at all. How great is that? Ye Hua just loves her the way she is and that is why I love their love so much. True love shouldn't be about that each partner ticks all the boxes. I really like BQ's character. She is strong and has a mind of her own instead of the weak, easily intimidated female lead we see too many times in romance novels/dramas.

@kristal. No doubt BQ cares a lot about Ali, but indeed her feelings are not really strong. It seemed unrealistic to me at first (so I wondered if the author has any kids herself), but at the same time it is kind of refreshing. Almost all romance novels (even american ones) put the kid first. It makes a story predictable in a way.
Love for your husband and love for your child is very different. And in this novel/drama and the epilogue/mini specials (not sure those are all written by the author) it seems that BQ/YH put eachother first. That is also why I like their lovestory so much.
