No worries. They have their own novel that will be adapted soon into a drama. It's called pillow book. With a happy ending.

I feel you. I think the same about the female lead. Part it's the role but part is also the acting I think. That's why I didn't feel the chemistry till recently, but still the romance part/chemistry is nothing near other great romance dramas. Now I just enjoy the action. I'm up to date with the eps and I really like the battlefield scenes. Those are great. Overall it's an OK drama for me. The storyline and (sub) plots could be improved.

I had the opposite. I didn't like the drama till ep 23 or so. Although I recently started to feel some chemistry between the leads I'm still quite disappointed in the romance part. I would never recommend anyone to watch this for the romance. Now I'm just enjoying the action and story, which has really picked up imo. The latest battlefield scenes are great.

@Hyerim. I had the sam with Princess agent. I found the power struggle amongst the maids irrelevant and annoying and her process ofbecoming a spy long and draggy too... but after ep 20 it got slowly better. It didn't help that the romance part was lacking too although most people love the chemistry between the leads whilst I didn't detect much romance till ep 43 or so.. Now I like it, but that's thanks to my habit of finishing the dramas I've started unless it is really bad. PA is a 8/10 for me. It's enjoying now.

I had that with Eternal Love. That one was so heavy on romance. I like Princess Agents for the storyline and action and only recently for the romance. But I'm happy. I can't use another addiction like Eternal Love, hahaha. It totally destroys my social life and health. I'm enjoying princess agent a lot and that's a much better balance.

@sey. Yes, I love the happy Yan Xun better, but I mean appearance wise the new Yan Xun is more handsome.

@knavery. Yan Xun has changed into brutal warlord yes that's true but I believe in that particular situation his intentions weren't bad. You also have to look at the circumstances. He was attacked and stabbed and had trouble speaking before passing out.

Btw I think that the new dark Yan Xun looks really hot! Great costumes and styling. He looks very manly and dangerous.... and attractive. Although I do miss his killer smile but I think my latest favourite dramas with Ye Hua and YWY has really affected my choice in men. It seems I prefer them stoic, calm and non smiling... Yan Xun is also such a great actor!! From the carefree happy prince to this dark revengeful man.

I read somewhere earlier in the comments that some people thought that Yan Xun ordered his men to rape the princess?? That is absolutely not how I understood it. Those rapist acted on their own. Yan Xun just wanted to send then home without harm but then passed out himself.

Yes.. I've finally caught up on this drama and I am sooo glad I am finally feeling the chemistry between the leads thanks to the latest eps. I always thought chemistry was lacking. If there were basically none sweet moments and talks between leads and when I wasn't even sure whether Chu Qiao loves YWY it was hard for me to feel the romance. I love YWY now. He is so sweet and caring. He reminds me of Ye Hua! Both smart and don't smile and talk that much except to the woman they love. And both so devoted... I can easily forgive them their poor communication skills in the beginning.

Aah... really? That's a pity. Although the romance improves (I just finished ep 33) it's still not convincing. I really hoped that after a few more eps I would feel it more. Maybe it's because I can't feel Chu Qiao's love for YWY? At this moment I'm not sure she is even in love with anyone. For me to feel the love at least it should be mutual and supported by some sweet talks and moments between the leads now and then. I like she is all badass, but I don't like it if that means she is much like a guy emotionally, or actually worse than the guys in the drama. They showed much more affection so far.

Luckily, the story and plot are really interesting from ep 20 onwards and make me watch. The romance and chemistry also get better with each ep.

@Amayii. Which ep are you watching? It didnt help that I didn't like the period when she was YWY's maid. I found the power struggle amongst the maid annoying and the process of becoming a spy slow. But after ep 20 the storyline picks up as well as the romance.

I'm still in ep 17... Somehow I can't get into the drama. I'm struggling with the chemistry between the leads. It is lacking... Am I the only one who thinks so? I really hope it will improve soon. I so wanna love this drama and I tend to finish all the dramas I started.

Another thing I don't like... the camera is sometimes so close that I see the pores on someone's faces.

Yes, I like Shou too! Have you also read the fanfic about MY/Shao Wan? That one is hilarious and so beautifully written with room for HE for side characters. I'm so glad fans take the effort to write these stories.

Another favourite of mine is the one from Abyss. Vagaries of fate. This one builds up the tension and feels like a real novel. I love chapter 16 onwards because that's where BQ and MY really are involved with each other.

There is another one from darkice712 that just started. I really like her Susu/BQ short story and her first chapter.

OK thanks all!! I plan to binge the eps tonight and then go on holiday. When I'm returning from my vacation the drama should have finished airing :).

For all people who like me read the novel To the Sky Kingdom after watching the drama... I always found the drama surpassed the novel, because the latter is totally written from Bai Qian's POV. You never get to know how YH felt and there was little or no details written about their time as Susu/YH. Because of this YH in the novel felt cold and distant to me.

Well, recently I found out that the author also wrote a side story/epilogue from YH's pov where you get to read how much he loved Susu and about his childhood. I thougt the script writers made up the YH/Susu scenes on mount junji, but it was actually also from the YH epilogue. However in To the Sky Kingdom the epilogue/side story is not included. You can find these chapters in the translated version of Hamster.

I finished the drama 1st of March and finally after rewatching 3 times I was able to move on (sort of) and enjoy other great shows again.

But now I'm hooked all over again because I accidentally found really great fanfics!!

So far I like this one the most. The writer of this fanfic updates almost daily. I enjoy it sooo much! Very interesting plot and daring twists. Original, refreshing and sizzling hot. Also the first fanfic (in english) where there is truly a love triangle between YH/BQ/MY and the brothers both fight for her. The author isn't picking the easy way out...
