It's really annoying that they are continuously asked questions and they barely answer anything or don't answer at all. Not even their names. They are in someone else's residence, given food and shelter, and it's rude not to answer anything.
The mother in law was hilarious when she heard that her daughter in law loved her for years and not her son. No wonder they thought she was sick, drunk or gone crazy. I laughed so hard at this family's reactions when she announced it in ep 1. It reminded me of when I lived in London many years ago and a woman confessed that she fell in love with me and kept following me even after I shooed her off. It was very embarrassing and I had to constantly try to avoid her at work. It was awkward. I can imagine that the mother in law in this drama would try to avoid being around her daughter in law too.
It seems that most comments describe the FL as too immature. I think that she is just as mature as the other rookies except that no one gives her a chance. They already made up their mind because the captain said she's not fit enough so she should be rejected. In addition, he judges her based on what happened at the museum as he himself had never made a mistake as a rookie. But she just passed the physical so she has all the rights to be there. He didn't even know her well but already decided she's a no. So she's trying her best to do something to be accepted. If all, I find the rest of the team very rude for constantly interrupting her, not letting her finish speaking, shutting her up and not including her in the investigations. They won't even let her come to interrogate the witness and check the evidence. That is extremely unprofessional for police officers to do.
I watched this 10 years ago. Watched again in 2013. My opinion on the FL hasn't changed at all. I still find her too immature and acting childlike, and her voice is like a little girl. Not very professional in life or the workplace. The ML is dashingly handsome! I think that 21 episodes is too long and many scenes were unnecessary and dragging. And, after watching 21 long episodes, they show us a few seconds of a kissing scene and then the blankets! I wasn't satisfied with this short ending. I would have like to see them more intimate and loving for longer.. and after that. And their wedding, not their parent's wedding. Last, I frankly would never stay in the same house as my parents along with my boyfriend soon to be husband. The bedroom didn't even have a look and there's not enough privacy for a young couple.
In this series, the FL is 3 years older than the ML in real life. I wonder what their age is in the drama.
I remember the FL in the drama Just You, from 2013. She was very pretty. In Just You, the ML was Aaron Yan. In real life, Aaron is 2 years older than her. But I looked at his pictures and he now looks about the same as 10 years ago. While the FL hasn't aged that well at all.
It's bizarre that in most lakorns, the root cause of all these problems is mostly the parent(s) or grandparent(s) of the lead(s). It's annoying but then, if they were perfect, there wouldn't be a lakorn!
The FL thinks someone murdered her in her former life but I think that they wanted to murder the ML instead, making it look like an accident. It must be that evil mistress/step-mother! I can't wait to find out.
Ah I was so relived to find out in ep 4 that the FL and her former sister weren't in love with the same guy! I love both characters and it would be sad if they were enemies. It's also sad that the FL has to retain herself from contacting her former family that she loves but needs to keep a distance instead.
If I ever saw a man dressed like this, no matter how cute he is, I couldn't run away fast enough. He looks ridiculous in those clothes! It's not fashion, it's stupidity.
I should have checked the comments here first. I finished the first episode and didn't like it at all. I then scanned a few scenes of the next episodes. This drama is a terrible mess that cannot be saved, no matter how many episodes. I wish I hadn't wasted my time.
A sweet little story. with a not too draggy plot. Riley Wang just gorgeous of course and he played the cold, arrogant…
That Le Tian irritated me too. What does it take for him to leave her alone? A no is a no. I still didn't get how he showed up all of a sudden where she's living with her 'boyfriend' minutes after the live show began and he was at college. It's not like the ML's address is commonly know. And the FL was too permissive with him.
Rewatching this again and agree with you. The noble idiocy plot twist towards the end wasn't necessary. And Er…
I agree with you. At the beginning, he was so stiff and cold, it would be hard to believe that he had any relationship with her. At some point, the couples were asked to touch parts of their bodies to show closeness and for fun but the ML didn't even move and stayed rigid the entire time; I found this completely stupid for a reality show guest. Even though the FL was warm, engaging and funny, there's no way for anyone to believe that their interactions were natural and loving. They were too distant and hesitant.
How come it is allowed in China to sign a contract where, if you breach it for some reason, you have to pay such an astronomical sum of money for the rest of your life? She had a contract to earn a little bit of money for a few episodes of that show. But paying a huge sum that will ruin her for years to come for a breach should be illegal. It's totally unfair to the breaching party to spend the rest of their lives paying for such a small breach.
The FL's mother is horrible and controlling. She was all high and mighty to her daughter like she's the queen who knows it all but ended up scammed like an idiot. I'm glad that put her down. My mother placed boundaries for her children. As an adult now, I place boundaries too. If my mother ever DARED to come to my workplace and yelled at me like that, I sure won't see her again until she's on her knees apologizing to me. It's disrespectful, dehumanizing and embarrassing. This isn't love, support and understanding, it's absolute control over someone's life.
The ML's father is a bad parent. I wish him a very sorrowful end. Slowly poisoned by his new wife would do, ending disabled. He's listening to his new wife and supporting her, but he ignores his own son and even sent him abroad to get rid of him years ago. And it seems that every times he talks to his son, the step mother is present. Even if his son was somehow traumatized he should have helped him and kept him close instead of sending away to deal with it himself as a young child. That's sick for a father.
I hate weak females like this. Within a few minutes of the beginning, we see her trying to commit suicide because she learned her boyfriend was married with a child! She turns psychotic and crazy. I know she was scammed of her properties and she was rather young, and tricked by her 'boyfriend' and aunt but that's not a reason to go crazy. She was mentally unstable and weak to begin with. Years later, I really hate the way she gets all crazy and impulsive with her revenge; no planning whatsoever before. At ep 5, I still hate her character so I'm giving up on this drama.
I finished ep 5 and I want Purim to speed up and live his own life! He's and adult now. He's too slow to fall in love with Mata. He is still so much under his father's and mother's control. Anytime they want his to do something he replies YES. He cannot say NO. He's almost obedient to Preng too. But I do believe that his face is too little boyish like to be taken seriously as a well-know heart surgeon who's in his early 30's. On the other hand, Mata looks much younger than her age. She's supposed to be almost 30 in the drama, but looks like she's about 20. In real life, she's 33 and the ML is 29!
Where is Peng going as a character? I liked her and now after episode 5 I am back to disliking her.Is she what…
Peng is not a nice woman. I think that she'll become the evil woman. She's very manipulative. She want all the attention from men. She wants both the ML and his cousin Tri, mostly the ML because he's more successful. She was mad when the professor she works with stopped giving her attention and had lunch with a co-worker instead. And that's after she rejected him. She lied a few times before. Then, she lied to obtain the ML's address and lied to Mata that she was supposed to have dinner with the ML when she went to his house unannounced. I don't even believe that all her 'goodness' is real. We'll probably find out that she hates LGBT... later on. All her support was all fake to make herself famous and get attention.
Seems like in every Asian dramas characters want to talk on the roof of tall buildings, abandoned buildings, empty warehouses or factories or garages, or construction sites. Then they get attacked or killed. People don't pick those places just to talk. Cafes, restaurants, parks, streets will do.
I don't like the FL. At least in the first few episodes, she's mean and calculating. She plotted to stay with the ML and be his lover for 3 years to secretly look for clues into the accident where her former boyfriend died. It's not the ML's fault that he somehow got that guy's heart after the accident. She stayed with the ML for years and accepted to be treated badly by him for her own gain. He has some psychological disorder so I can't really blame him for his moods. Then she returned to him to get more clues; basically it's prostituting herself for her own purposes. When she left him the 1st time she wanted out of his life, but instead of moving into her own secret small apartment, she went to her friend's house, then a hotel, then to another man's house (whom she barely knew). That's no innocent FL.
