Either way, the first part has been amazing so far, and I’m really looking forward to seeing how their relationship develops.

And I think that note explains a lot about the drama. This isn’t supposed to be a traditional romance where everything revolves around the main couple. It’s really a story about adulthood, relationships, careers, mistakes, and the growth of ordinary women trying to find their place in a huge city. The romance is part of their lives, but it isn’t necessarily the entire story.
