Excellent ROM-HIST with a bunch of famous actors ( particulary Leo Wu and Zhao LuSi in CL).

PLOT: Meeting between 1 "rebel" and poorly educated FL and 1 ML, general, adopted son of the emperor (cold, seeking revenge for the death of his father, etc.). Over the course of adventures and wars, they become closer, but the FL gets engaged to an ML4 (to escape her mother, an authoritarian female general). Subsequently, this engagement was abandoned and the emperor wanted her to marry the ML. He gets engaged to the FL, but he abandons her to pursue his revenge.

PROS
+ A great CL with Leo Wu & Zhao LuSi
+ Endearing characters (the imperial couple, the FL's family), well developed, psychologically coherent.
+ Superb cinematography: very beautiful images,
+ lively and careful production, superb fight and war scenes.

Ep. 48 “Red Wedding” style. Fortunately the following episodes are a little less bloody.

PLOT: Rencontre entre 1 FL "rebelle" et peu éduquée et 1 ML, général fils adoptif de l'empereur (froid, en recherche de revanche pr la mort de son père,etc). Au fil des aventures et des guerres, les liens se resserrent, mais la FL se fiance à un ML4 (pour échapper à sa mère, générale autoritaire). Par la suite, ces fiançailles sont abandonnées et l'empereur veut marier le ML. Il se fiance à la FL, mais il l'abandonne pour poursuivre sa vengeance.

PROS
+ Un super CL avec Leo Wu & Zhao LuSi
+ Personnages attachants (le couple impérial, la famille de la FL), bien développés, psychologiquement cohérents.
+ Superbe cinématographie : très belles images,
+ réalisation vive et soignée, scènes de fight et de guerre superbes. + Même les OST sont Top !

Ep. 48 style "Noces pourpres". Heureusement les épisodes suivants sont un peu moins sanglants.

EXCELLENT : Our choices create our own destiny

In my TOP 10 Xianxia, ​​with Wang An Yu & Zhao Lu Xi - Continuation of Ancient Love Poetry (son's story)

PLOT: 1st narrative arc: The ML, 1 young, casual God, collects and raises 1 Drop of ice water. Having taken human form, she becomes his junior in an immortal sect. As a result, she is mistreated by the immortals of the Celestial Palace (including 1 romantic rival) and ends up dying at the hands of the ML. 2nd story arc: the FL reappears as a 1/2 goddess Phoenix, and goes to fight the Villains, with the help of the ML and her friends.

+ an excellent general cast, with well-developed, endearing characters. The secondary romance is also very cute.

PLOT: 1e arc narratif : Le ML, 1 jeune Dieu désinvolte, recueille et élève 1 Goutte d'eau glacée. Ayant pris forme humaine, elle devient sa cadette dans 1 secte d'immortelle. Cpdt, elle est maltraitée par les immortels du Palais Céleste (dont 1 rivale amoureuse) et finit par mourrir des mains du ML. 2e arc narratif : la FL réapparait en 1/2 déesse Phoenix, et va combattre les Villains, avec l'aide du ML et de ses amis.

+ Brillant CL avec Wang An Yu & Zhao Lu Xi (toujours aussi talentueux) (ര̀ᴗര́)و ̑̑
+ un excellent cast général, avec des personnages bien développés, attachants. La romance secondaire est aussi très cute.
+ des CGI de grande qualité (sauf l'aspect bête immortelle des gouttes d'eau glacée, qui est un peu ridicule).
+ des costumes magnifiques (Bravo au designer)
+ TB OST (dont le générique chanté par Zhao Luxi)

## The kings of Joseon are often shown as weak, powerless, or even stupid. The ML's father, here, is no exception...

Le fameux ministre décide de faire tuer le Prince. Celui-ci survit grâce au père adoptif de la FL, mais il est amnésique. Tous les célibataires ayant reçu l'ordre de se marier, la FL épouse l'homme recueilli par son père.

PROS:
+ Série addictive, avec D.O. qui est absolument magistral dans ce rôle.
+ Tous les acteurs sont excellents.
+ Story bien écrite, avec un suspense constant
+ Réalisation dynamique et intelligente, avec de très beaux décors, costumes, cadrages.
+ OST bien adaptées.

## Les rois de Joseon sont souvent montrés comme faibles, impuissants, voire stupides. Le père du ML, ici, ne fait pas exception...

PLOT: The ML, 3rd son (born of a concubine) disadvantaged by his father, uncle of the emperor, joins the daughter of a general, the FL, at the head of a large army. They have to fight against a coup upon the death of the emperor. There are many conflicts and intrigues. Eventually the ML's father proclaims himself emperor, but the plots continue for the succession.

PROS:
+ An excellent CL with Xu Kai & Jing Tian as a warrior, valiant, intelligent couple. Xu Kai shows here all of his talent, all of his emotions in a wide variety of micro-expressions. Handsome, yes, but also talented ☆✲ﾟ｡(((´♡‿♡`+)))｡ﾟ✲☆
+ endearing 2ary characters.
+ magnificent settings and costumes. Some scenes are superb (fight in the Throne Hall around the coffin, in particular)
+ a story written with finesse and intelligence. Everything is coherent and relatively credible.

CONS:
- Low quality CGI (green background too obvious during certain scenes).
- OST volume too high compared to the dialogues.
- Always the same actors who play the villains (it's sad for them), so the viewer knows from their appearance alone what will be their evolution ;)

CONS:
- CGI low quality (fond vert trop trop évident sur certaines scènes).
- volume des OST trop fort par rapport aux dialogues.
- Toujours les mêmes acteurs qui jouent les villains (c'est désolant pour eux), donc le spectateur sait dès leur apparition qu'elle va être leur évolution ;)

=> Série addictive, épique, sans longueur malgré les 40 épisodes.

A Must watch series for Dylan Wang & Bai Lu fans

Romantic series with Dylan Wang (very cold, rational, young investor CEO) & Bai Lu (economics journalist). These 2 attract each other, turn around and play cat and mouse until episode 20.
2 other 2dary couples: CL2 = CEO investor / video journalist (both players who do not want to give up their style life) & CL3 = college teacher/trainee.

PROS:
+ Bai Lu and Dylan Wang are a great CL, with intense interactions and chemistry. They carry the whole series on their shoulders.
+ All the cast did a good job, with complex characters, who are well developed.
+ Excellent OSTs (even Irish music :)
+ The pace is fast, dynamic, without length.
+ The framing, settings, costumes,... are well suited to the story.

CONS:
I'm not convinced by some characters:
- FL2 is totally stupid on an emotional level. She thinks she's a love expert, because she dates around, but she thinks like an imbecile. A lot of CL's problems stem from her disastrous advice... The kind of friend to avoid like the plague! In each situation, she guides the FL towards the worst possible path. Is this the deliberate will of the screenwriter/director???
- the very very immature FL3.
- the character of Cheng Kang is not even credible: he is indecisive, hesitant, without self-confidence. How could such a character create his own business?

=> A lovely romantic series with a CL that I would like to see again together on screen soon.

Une bonne partie des problèmes du CL découle de ses conseils désastreux... Le genre d'amie à fuir comme la peste ! A chaque situation, elle guide vers la pire voie possible. Est-ce la volonté délibérée du screenwriter/réalisateur ???
- la FL3 très très immature.
- le personnage de Cheng Kang n'est pas crédible : il est indécis, hésitant, sans confiance en lui. Comment un tel personnage a-t-il pu créer son entreprise ?

=> Une jolie série romantique avec un CL que j'aimerai revoir together on screen soon.

MASTERPIECE PAINFUL AND HISTORICALLY REALISTIC

PLOT: FL, a very beautiful girl, attracts the attention of every man in her village, except that of the man she loves, engaged to her best friend. A mysterious man arrives, the ML, a little jaded, but who is intrigued by the FL. Nevertheless, war comes (king besieged in his fortress) and barbarians invade the territory...

PROS:
+ great actors: Namkoong Min as ML, accompanied by his 2 friends, and Ahn Eun Jin as FL.
+ the characters are complex, divided between their desires and their responsibilities, tossed around by events.
+ The OSTs are now on my playlist (I particularly like “With you” by Kai).
+ The production is excellent: credible and bloody war scenes ; the tensed, heavy atmosphere of these times of war is well rendered; the cinematography is exceptional.
+ The storyline is solid and the historical aspect seems respected. It is a period which has never or rarely (to my knowledge) been brought to the screen.

PROS:
+ des acteurs géniaux : Namkoong Min en ML, accompagné de ses 2 potes, et Ahn Eun Jin en FL.
+ les personnages sont complexes, partagés entre leurs désirs et leurs responsabilités, ballotés par les évènements.
+ Les OST sont désormais sur ma playlist (j'aime particulièrement "With with you" de Kai).
+ La réalisation est excellente : des scènes de guerre crédibles et sanglantes : l'atmosphère lourde, pesante de ces temps de guerre est bien rendue; la cinématographie est exceptionnelle.
+ La storyline est solide et l'aspect historique semble respecté et c'est une période qui n'a jamais ou peu (à ma connaissance), été porté à l'écran.

Only if you want to see a very hot Dai Gao Zheng ( ｡◕‿◕｡ )

I don't understand the good comments about this series!

OK, I'm not a fan of mini dramas because the story is often poorly developed. But I watched it for Dai Gao Zheng (ෆ`꒳´ෆ) which I really like. On the other hand, I don't like at all Chen Fang Tong (expressionless Barbie doll) who plays the FL.

PLOT: a bodyguard (the ML) helps the blind heiress (the FL) he protects, to fight against the plots / betrayals of her fiancé and her best friend. The FL is investigating the death of her father and the ML wants to avenge his family (bankruptcy, suicide, illness, etc.).

PROS:
+ Dai Gao Zheng very sexy
+ lots of kisses and skinship

CONS:
- Story poorly built up, clumsy, where events happen abruptly, and full of every possible cliché.
- I know it's a low-budget production but the costumes are too cheap, tacky and poorly cut, even the engagement ring is adjustable!!! There are limits that must not be crossed in the cheap business!!
- Another series where we wonder if there is a police force in China... Murders, corruption, attacks, etc. but we don't see a single uniform in the whole drama Щ(◣д◢)Щ
- OST poorly suited to the climate of the scenes.

=> Fortunately it was short, otherwise I would have dropped it!

OK, je ne suis pas fan des mini dramas car l'histoire est souvent mal développée. Mais je l'ai regardé pour Dai Gao Zheng (ෆ`꒳´ෆ) que j'aime beaucoup. Par contre, je n'aime pas du tout Chen Fang Tong (poupée Barby inexpressive) qui joue la FL.

- Encore une série où on se demande s'il y a une police en Chine ... Meurtres, corruptions, agressions, etc. mais on ne voit pas un seul uniforme dans tout le drama Щ(◣д◢)Щ
- OST peu adaptés au climat des scènes.

=> Heureusement que c'était court, sinon j'aurai zappé !

Excellent “suspense” series, quite disturbing & a masterful role for Miles Wei

PLOT: Very unusual format and tone since it is essentially a road trip, with a duo : a young editor (ML = Miles Wei), beginner and shy, and a writer (FL), a little temperamental, mysterious, haunted by her problems, including blank page syndrome.
During the trip, she tells ML meaningful stories, to be taken as clues or life lessons.

PROS:
+ Different but masterful role for Miles Wei
+ Fascinating and mysterious FL
+ vivid production, with magnificent cinematography. The images are beautiful, the framing very studied.
+ Fascinating, intriguing storyline. Good balance of suspense, romance and humor scenes.
+ great OST, with lots of classic tracks, amping up the action.

CONS:
- FL escape behavior, understandable when you are under the influence of a psychopath.

=> Excellent “suspense” series, quite disturbing.

Au cours du voyage, elle raconte a ML des histoires, significatives, à prendre comme des indices ou des leçons de vie.

PROS:
+ Rôle différent mais magistral pour Miles Wei
+ FL fascinante et mystérieuse
+ réalisation vive, avec une cinématographie magnifique. Les images sont belles, les cadrages très étudiés.
+ Storyline fascinante, intrigante. Bon équilibre des scènes de suspense, de romance et d'humour.
+ super OST, avec beaucoup de morceaux classiques, amplifiant l'action.

CONS:
- Comportement de fuite de la FL, se comprend quand on est sous emprise d'un psychopathe.

A good romantic series, making a sharp criticism of the Korean education system

A very good series but the title and the poster are misleading viewers: they announce a romance, funny and cute. The drama isn't about that at all. There is a romance, even several, but the series is above all a violent denunciation of the Korean education system and its excesses: family pressure/obsession over grades and school results, over-involvement of mothers, multiple support classes (especially in final years), severe competition between students & between parents, corruption, suicide, influence games, even doping, etc.
It also deals with eating disorders (anorexia in a man), with a student recluse after too much pressure,... which are rarely discussed topics :).

The tone is more gray than rosy, despite some humorous passages to lighten the atmosphere.

PROS:
+ well-written, intelligent story and production without downtime. The clues are given at the right time, just enough to maintain the suspense.
+ The drama is carried by two great veteran leads, endearing, moving, strong and fragile... They establish a mature relationship, made of trust and understanding. Perfect!
+ a brother on the spectrum (a really great performance from Oh Eui Shik )
+ Good OSTs, conveying the emotions/vibes of each scene well.

CONS:
- the lead actress looks a little too old (50) for the role (30-35 years old max), particularly with her hairstyle in the last episode.
- inappropriate title and poster.

Très bonne série mais le titre et l'affiche sont trompeurs : ils annoncent une romance, drôle, mignonne. Le drama ne traite pas du tout de cela. Il y a bien une romance, même plusieurs, mais la série est surtout, une violente dénonciation du système éducatif coréen et de ses dérives : pression-obsession familiale sur les notes et résultats scolaires, sur-implication des mères, multiples cours de soutien -surtout en terminale, sévère compétition entre élèves & entre parents, corruption, suicide, jeux d'influence, dopage, etc..
Elle traite aussi des troubles alimentaires (anorexie chez un homme, ce qui est un sujet rarement évoqué :).
Le ton est plus gris que rose, malgré quelques passages d'humour pour alléger l'atmosphère.

PROS:
+ histoire bien écrite, intelligente et réalisation sans temps mort. Les indices sont donnés au bon moment, juste ce qu'il faut pour maintenir le suspense.
+ Le drama est porté par deux super leads, attachants, émouvants, forts et fragiles... Ils établissent une relation mature, faite de confiance et de compréhension. Parfaits !
+ un frère handicapé (super bien joué par Oh Eui Shik)
+ un reclus (trop de pression)
+ Bons OST, bien adaptés.

CONS:
- l'actrice lead fait un peu trop âgée (50) pour le rôle (30-35 ans maxi), particulièrement avec sa coiffure dans le dernier épisode.
- titre et affiche inadéquats.

I hesitated for a long time to watch this drama, yet highly recommended, because I'm not a BL fan. But I ended up immersing myself in it and I do not regret this choice. It really is The Must-See Wuxia with Xiao Zhan ❤❤❤ and Wang Yi Bo ❤❤❤.

PLOT:
Great epic (50 episodes) of struggle between Good and Evil (sects of immortals / martial arts + cable fights of all kinds).
Meeting, alliance and super bromance between Wei WuXian (from a spiritual sect - big family with powers & rules) and Lan Zhan (from the sect of Lightbearers, very strict more than 3000 rules:). They investigate strange events, fight together against evils & ghost puppets, try to thwart the plans of several villains who want Yin Metal & the Tiger seal to have absolute power.

PROS:
+ no explicit BL (like the novel) but a palpable chemistry in the CL, with adorable Xiao Zhan, with a cute smile, as mischievous and mischievous Wei Wuxian.
+ Super OST, epic, perfectly adapted to the emotions (especially the duet of the ending song with Xiao Zhang and Yi Bo)
+ Excellent actors, all of them, even the most annoying ones (whom we hate with all our hearts :)

Grande épopée (50 épisodes) de lutte entre le Bien et le Mal (sectes d'immortels / arts martiaux + fight câblés en tous genres).
Rencontre, alliance et super bromance entre Wei WuXian (issu d'une secte de spirituels - grande famille avec pouvoirs & règles) et Lan Zhan (de la secte des porteurs de Lumière, très stricte + de 3000 règles :). Ils enquêtent sur des évènements étranges, se battent ensemble contre les evils & les marionnettes fantômes, essaient de déjouer les plans des evils qui veulent le Yin Metal & le sceau du Tigre pour avoir le pouvoir absolu.
CONS:
+ pas de BL explicite (like the novel) mais une alchimie palpable dans le CL, avec Xiao Zhan adorable, au sourire craquant, en Wei Wuxian malicieux et espiègle.
+ Super OST, épiques, parfaiement adaptés aux émotions (notamment le duo de la ending song avec Xiao Zhang et Yi Bo)

GREAT GREAT THRILLER !

I had a bit of to get into the story (1-2 episodes) but gets very catchy afterwards. Lots of suspense to follow the reasoning towards the culprit. But we don't really know anything until the end.

⊕ Great actors, well done story.
⊕ The production is almost perfect, with clues and flashbacks at the right time.

⊝ My only regret: the romance is implicit, but there is no kiss or skinship! The CL holds hands 3 times throughout the series, not too demonstrative for 35-year-old characters!

J'ai eu n peu de mal à entrer dans l'histoire (1-2 épisodes) mais devient très accrocheur ensuite.
Beaucoup de suspense pour suivre le raisonnement vers le/la coupable. Mais on ne sait rien vraiment avant la fin.

+ Excellents acteurs, histoire bien menée.
+ La réalisation est quasi parfaite, avec les indices et les flash-back au bon moment.
- Seul regret : la romance est implicite, mais il n'y a ni kiss ni skinship ! Le CL se tient 3 fois la main dans toute la série, pas trop démonstratif pour des personnages de 35 ans !

Very catchy drama with a very hot Tono

I came to this lakorn for Tono (the "wild" look with long hair gives him a Wahouuuu charisma) !!!

The plot is sometimes a bit confusing: meeting between 1 FL artist with a heart illness & an ML, cursed immortal (former general).

The story is fairly well told, with many twists that make nothing predictable. One-third romance, one-third fantasy, one-third suspense, and sometimes a touch of humor.
The special effects are good. The costumes and decorations are beautiful.

The actors are EXCELLENT and the production is dynamic enough not to miss a single moment.

On the other hand, this series is not perfect:
- the humor side, provided by the 2 detectives (father and daughter) is exaggerated. They are fine lines professionally speaking. Sherlock Holmes must be turning in his grave! FL's overprotective brother is also caricatural.
- some details are not coherent (particulary the heart transplant), but with a little indulgence, the story remains almost coherent.
- the music is omnipresent (it's a lakorn :) but not too intrusive.

I will rewatch this series, for Tono, for Beam (RIP) , in some months, with pleasure.

Le plot est parfois un peu confus : rencontre entre 1 FL artiste avec une malformation cardiaque & un ML, immortel maudit (ancien général).

L'histoire est assez bien racontée, avec de nombreux rebondissements qui font que rien n'est prévisible. Un tiers de romance, un tiers de Fantasy, un tiers de suspens et, parfois, une touche d'humour.
Les effets spéciaux sont bons. Les costumes, les décors sont beaux.
Les acteurs sont EXCELLENTS et la réalisation est assez dynamique pour ne pas rater un seul moment.

Par contre, cette série n'est pas parfaite:
- le côté humour, assuré par les 2 détectives (père et fille) est exagéré. Ils sont ridules professionnellement parlant. Sherlock Holmes doit se retourner dans sa tombe ! Le frère de la FL, surprotecteur, est aussi caricatural.
- certains détails ne sont pas cohérents (notamment la transplantation cardiaque), mais avec un peu d'indulgence, l'histoire reste à peu près cohérente.
- la musique est omniprésente (c'est un lakorn :) mais pas trop envahissante.

Je regarderai à nouveau cette série, pour Tono, pour Beam (RIP), dans quelque temps, avec plaisir.

Je sais que c'est un vieux drama (format d'image différent, mais la qualité d'image est acceptable). Forcément, les tenues et coiffures sont très datées. La réalisation est aussi datée (très mélo, longs arrêts sur images, et pas très soignée (nouveau-né prématuré qui a la taille d'un bébé de 6 mois).

Plot : rencontre par hasard entre 1 faussaire de bijoux et le ML héritier d'un grand groupe de joaillerie un peu rebelle. Relation compliquée par les rivalités (business, amoureuses, jalousie, etc.).

Le ton veut être comique, donc certains personnages sont surjoués.
MAIS
- le CL attachant, avec une réelle alchimie. Ces 2 leads portent tout le drama !!
- De bons OST ( même le Requiem de Mozart :) :)
- l'histoire est prenante (si on est indulgent avec les twists, les clichés et les "méchants qui ne sont pas punis car ils se repentent et c'est assez" ).

Un bon drama, avec 2 acteurs fantastiques, à regarder en Speed X1,25.

I really like Neo Hou. But I'm not a fan of the FL... and I find that the CL doesn't show great chemistry.

Relationship between 1 super spoiled and nonconformist princess & 1 wise and calm minister, adviser to the emperor. Hate -> love, thwarted by multiple love triangles.

Series with an exaggerated comic tone and plot conveniences !!
The tone becomes more serious from episode 20-22, and we fall into the usual conspiracies / plots / succession struggles.

In short, I watched it until the end (with skipping) but without real enthusiasm.

Le ton devient plus sérieux à partir de l'épisode 20-22, et on tombe dans les habituelles conspirations / complots / luttes de succession.

Bref, je l'ai regardé jusqu'au bout (avec du zapping) mais sans réel enthousiasme.

Petit trésor fantaisy à ne pas rater

Dans le TOP des meilleurs Xianxia, sans aucun doute, avec Dylan Wang en prime !!
Très beau générique, et l'ensemble de la série est TOP au niveau esthétique (costumes, décors, maquillages, images).
La réalisation est rapide, efficace, les effets spéciaux de grande qualité + OST géniaux (épiques, action, romance).

Pour les amateurs, vous aurez votre compte de démons, immortels, fées, dieux, .. dans des luttes (et des scènes d'action) acharnées.

Je ne raconterai pas l'histoire. Regardez, vous serez collé à votre écran dès le 1e épisode !!
