EP 32 PreviewPlease anyone who know Chinese translate it to English.. i want to know what they sayhttps://twitter.com/ksoochilling/status/1651164925178290180?t=Or36CgdjbWebf3m__c-uTw&s=19
Oh my gosh, Ye Bing Chang… again… shitz, she is literally the undead.
LOL. I’m sorry to say this again, been repeating it multiple times in posts below, I’m one of the minorities…
Don’t get me wrong, like yea, the CGI is really properly done (which is so important) and pretty most of the time… but at times there were so much leading to an over-reliance of it. Ah, didn’t know there is a radio-drama.
bitchang getting dragged and thrown in the dungeon WE ALL CHEERED
So true, but she really embodied the concept of “nature” in her character… by nature she is unkind/atrocious… partially coz of her insecurity…. Which was partially nurture.
Damns… Xiao Lin is really a freaking saint. 😭😭😭 she died an easy death AGAIN! Sighs, the world is unfair.
Yeah, honestly. I'm just shouting, "die, just die!" at this point to the character.
It’s basically wot Ye Ming told Tian Huan in the dream arc. She might be a goddess but she has done more evil and had more evil intentions than a demon/devil. I’m hoping that she gets a serious payback!! Felt Tian Huan was let off too easily, super quick. ☹️
LOL. I’m sorry to say this again, been repeating it multiple times in posts below, I’m one of the minorities…
Like I don’t know why they used so much CGI though, and I also felt very distracted in the dream arc when they used sooo much CGI for fights/duels between 2-3 people. I kinda missed like real martial arts moves/sequences just coz that battle was soooo long, they were starting to feel a bit cartoonish by the end of it.
I felt the dialogue in that Ep 28 sub-scene was better than the ones in the novel but the emotions were written/depicted better in the novel…. That sub-scene was actually very short and simple in the novel.
I’m still missing Miss.7-tailed fox… or was it 6….? Like why didn’t they change that red clothing of hers. She wore that for like 15 episodes….? Her character was so prominent/eye-catching, they should have given her another set of clothes seriously. She’s meant to be a super flirty fox. 🤣
Just thought that it must be raining blood for NBY and the others down there when TTJ and YXW were spitting blood…
LOL. I’m sorry to say this again, been repeating it multiple times in posts below, I’m one of the minorities whereby I just really couldn’t fully engross and get all emotional for episode 28…. Like all that crazy CGI and floating upwards + spinning….. just… killed it for me.
Yeap, it was the same in the novel. It was actually even more obvious in the novel. But there is a fine line between…
Because of that Taoism heart of hers. So it’s something that they completely cut out of the TV series. And don’t forget, most women are innately born with “motherly” love.
So for her, it’s already different from day 1 versus him BECAUSE…. She knows everything, and he doesn’t know anything…. Hence….. I do think it can be viewed non-romantic yet it’s also natural for humans to develop such intense feelings etc when one spends 18 hrs a day like obsessing on how to make him fall for her. It isn’t fair ground from the get go because she has all the information whilst he has 0 idea… hence why his emotions seems a lot more… “free-flowing”, unbounded, real, raw etc.
And also why…. Like the MDL member who posted above… I’m actually curious wot happens in the final arc, whether she actually will fall in love with him… because that is when it develops on fair ground amongst their intense history. AND…. She will allow things to develop naturally because she truly believes that he is a “neutral”/good person with her mission accomplished…
Yeap, it was the same in the novel. It was actually even more obvious in the novel. But there is a fine line between…
Yeap. I mean if I spend soooooo much time, effort and grief on one person… I’m sure whether I like it or not, I would have naturally grown somewhat attached and care about him/her/it. And of course feelings would develop, I actually think this applies to 99% of human beings especially when the other person reciprocates. The so-called feelings is somewhat blended with habit/familiarity as time goes by.
But love even if we go by the definition that YXW gave TTJ when he asked wot love was, it most defo didn’t meet the criterias she listed. I.e the English saying of “out of sight, out of mind.” Will all these feelings cease to exist when the person is out of your life? If so then actually, it’s not really love is it….? It was more of a relationship, which is basically wot she mentioned in the novel.
So when she kept thinking that time is running out and wanting to leave… so just for me, as in a personal viewpoint… I’m totally not like that when I’m in love. I mean I get that it would have been a struggle because it is all about a noble/greater cause. And I probably would have chosen the greater cause too but… I definitely would have dream/fantasize of staying and building a life together etc. To me, she never once did though, there was no struggle, no contemplation… At least that’s my interpretation of the whole thing.
Yeap, it was the same in the novel. It was actually even more obvious in the novel. But there is a fine line between…
But for that actually I think when you like or care for a person… just any normal person/situation… one would feel disappointed/kinda hurt when not picked though… I mean, it’s human nature…. so… I personally really don’t think it’s love yet… and furthermore YXW is gentle/kind by nature… her character is softer… At least perhaps my character is also somewhat similar in this sense, doesn’t mean I love the dude….
And I think she was well aware all along coz as much as they talk about his “love tree” growing, hers was the same as well but instead of allowing it to full bloom it kinda took 3 steps forward, 2 steps back for her due to his actions and words. I mean, he is ultimately a very selfish person just coz he is a natural psychopath and just never really grew up emotionally. So her liking him has never been allowed to fully bloom into love yet and hence why she always has been pretty logical, never really losing sight of the ultimate goal and never once wanting to just stay there forever with him.
Yeap, it was the same in the novel. It was actually even more obvious in the novel. But there is a fine line between…
So the proper English translation stops there. LOL. Like it’s still being translated currently. There is like a translation in the Discussion section which is completed but the English is kinda weird…. It doesn’t look like 100% MTL… I think it’s probably a mix. I tried reading it but it’s kinda distracting so I stopped.
Ah, in the novel that sub-scene was actually very short, TTJ did find out about the eye… and she actually jumped off the tower instead of like the series whereby they floated upwards…… (and all the crazy CGI started)? Which I thought was kinda weird.. and actually this was all that she said before she was continuously hit by lightning and fell/jumped:
On the tower, Su Su’s eyes became gentle and warm. She was still in darkness and said, “Even if it’s karma, I’ve paid you back with an eye. I’ll take away your evil bone and return to you the divine marrow. We have long since not owed each other anything. You hate me so much, and I used to hate you the same. But this entanglement, up until now, only feels ridiculous. Treat all the things in the past as an ill-fated relationship. I only wish that for now and forever, even at the end of darkness, there won’t be you.”
So in the novel, unlike the TV series, there was a lot more misunderstanding. So TTJ didn’t actually know she wasn’t YXW and wot her ultimate goal is etc…
Yea, for me episode 28 defo wasn’t as emotional as how most of the MDL posters felt, but it’s obvious I’m in the minority. I watched it and actually felt….. nothing. Lol. And was wondering wot all the hype about the “tower scene” was about.
I'm sorry to say that I still haven't gotten a sense of LSS caring about TTJ in a romantic way (I'm caught up…
Yeap, it was the same in the novel. It was actually even more obvious in the novel. But there is a fine line between differences in viewers/readers perspective. So I personally understood from both the novel and the series that she defo grown to care and like the ML due to the time and effort she has spent on him… like it kinda is somewhat a natural human response BUT it’s obvious it isn’t love. That was made very clear. And obviously to add to the mix there was genuine hate/contempt as well which was more apparent in the novel, thus she has been always clear on her ultimate goal.
TTJ on the other hand…. I actually felt is kinda different in the novel, so I thought the screenwriters did a good job by mellowing the whole sadistic nature… and hence why I think the novel’s rating/reviews are quite polarising as well, not everyone liked it, i.e I didn’t. I don’t know if it was the way it was written, but like TTJ didn’t really say or do enough for readers to have the overly extreme sweet side to go with the crazy sadistic side. I think the author was trying to highlight a psychopath’s nature….?
Also, I thought the screenwriters were quite wise in clearing up most of the misunderstandings relatively quickly in the TV series… so they didn’t really do that in the novel, like the whole tower scene in the novel she actually didn’t explain herself on why she was doing wot she did etc. Hence why it wasn’t actually love love kinda thing, but it’s obvious she cares about the dude.
Lol. I’m probably one of the minority that thought it was an overuse of CGI for that scene, so that actually didn’t happen in the novel. So the screenwriters added all the dialogue there which I thought was a better idea BUT…. The crazy use of the CGI for that tower scene was….. I don’t know…. So I went to read the novel for that part, my emotions were defo way more intense when reading the novel.
People… where is everyone watching trailers from? I only got to see like Ep 29 trailer on YOUKU, how did some manage to watch 30-31? I can’t seem to find it at all!
Yeap. Truly “oh no”… Netflix has totally spoilt the world with the concept of binge watching the entire series. I’m depressed and tormented now so I’ve resorted to reading the novel midway. 🤣
Ah, didn’t know there is a radio-drama.
