I got wot he meant….. he is someone who always likes to be the one to decide and to be in control…. So as he got more involved with the case, he realised he was also getting more involved with her and wanted to just win…. Indirectly admitting to how he was aware she formed an attachment towards him and he turned a blind eye to it as he manipulated the string of events. It wasn’t only pity…. It was mixed in with guilt and responsibility, and wanting to just beat the other guy, which was her husband. But none of it was romantic.

I personally thought it was a solid HE, but I know Mainland netizens thought the last 2.5 minutes were too forced and they think he actually died.

Yea, I saw that scene…. I don’t think she was imagining things though…. Also, she actually told her cousin-in-law she was going to start a legal advisory firm with a friend…. I’m pretty sure that person is Tan Shen.

Yesss! Their chemistry is electrifying. Well to me they didn’t screw up the ending, some C-dramas totally get messed up, so thank God for that. But it just wasn’t an awesome ending.

Yea, but it’s also coz they did very well as the built up…. Like the screenwriter really did the thriller plot very well though, which is really rare for Mainland dramas, almost non-existent for those with no drug or police storyline. So naturally there was a lot of expectation….. coz this one had no cops involved, which means the ending is unpredictable. 😍 and the scenario of her losing her husband was actually quite realistic…. The romance wasn’t cliché at all, was so natural and it really is like a lot of modern romances nowadays… so I really felt the thriller plot was as important as the romance…

Hence I thought there was like some super intelligent mastermind plot behind. Lol. But I got conned.

I’m even reading the novel now. I’m sure she must have written something more… but uh….. the novel is kinda different… 🤔

But even the leads I felt it was a mutual built up in Master of my Own and they had so many dear moments together although they got tog in the last episode…

But for this one…. They never had a real moment tog throughout the series… Douban rating lowered after the last 2 episodes. Geez man, Mainland netizens are tough.

I loved Master of My Own. I thought it was such a well produced drama that really got all the financial technicalities accurately and really reflected the asset management world.

Lol. But this one……… they…….. never really had a real moment throughout the drama….. where else Master of My Own I felt they did.
I’m sad.

Yeap. So it is the proof of their crimes is in the USB, but they kinda left the details out. Basically XYN kept a back door for himself, so that they will not come after him. I made some deductions for the rest, there were pleasant surprises (I never expected FJS to have the 40mil all along, assuming that is the bunch of cash in the warehouse) but was a let down for me esp it was just market manipulation and insider trading…

I’m totally going to try and look for the post-credits scene….

They left so many unexplained loopholes… well I’m glad they didn’t screw it up, but it was really very rushed.

But my dreams of having 5 minutes of the couple being normal… like holding hands, strolling and talking about the future is completely crushed. ☹️ Luckily they rewarded us with a proper kiss, they really look so good together, They are so sweettt…

More of the novel is based on the show……. Because the show was finalised before the novel was made public/published….

But the author/screenwriter had mentioned that she had written the novel a long time ago but didn’t publish it.

So the situation is rather different compared to The Confidence….

I’m worse coz they literally killed my thriller plot….. I liked all the small twists but it’s really too short, they totally didn’t explain and disclose the details…. I was so looking forward to it because of all the hype they built up. ☹️ And in the end the white-collar crime wasn’t that big actually… I will watch the subbed version again later to see if I missed any details….

Sighs….. the good thing is at least they didn’t mess it up. I’m going to try to find a way to read the on-going novel….

From my experiences when I was working there……. Yea….. I do think so. I think the whole one-child policy caused a lot of ramifications.
