I read the spoilers in a Vietnamese's channel and they said that he will die before her. The rest of the episodes will be able her managing the household until she was 80. Before his death, only then that she knows the truth that he knew about her identity.

I hope that this is false because I want them go have a long life together.

Yup, I know it's a female-centric drama. I feel like he could do better than these roles. It's a female empowerment story and often times I felt like they dumb him down to make her character shine and it's expected. I'm sure we will see his growth later on. While he does seem like the center of the story but to me he's just part of the story to tell her journey.

My point is that I hope he will get a role that will be tailored for him in the future.

I saw that too. His upcoming dramas are not too promising either. He's not a big name yet so he's not given male-centric scripts. At least this is doing well in ratings so that'll give him more recognition.

Finally got to today's episode and I feel bad for Liu Xue Yi after watching it. In all his dramas that I seen, they either butchered his characters or he was just sidelined even if he was ML. Same thing happened here. In this case, they butchered his character and he often feels like a side character.

I hope he can get a better role in the future to show off his skills. They're wasting his talents.

I feel you on this one. I heard the novel was even worst in terms of how the male lead was portrayed. So how he is here is an upgrade. I felt like they had to rewite so much of the characters and story that they lost their vision. It became the typical tropes of C-drama land.

OMG I can't wait for ep 35 and 36. Looks like it'll be big shift in their dynamic. Really curious what Xing Tang gave her. I'm guessing it's the evidence that Jin Qi secretly buried her family. Maybe that will change her mind about him.

JQ will again be involved in another rebellion of sort. In the midst of chaos, he taught LX how to use firearms to protect herself. He thought he will die soon so he told her to remarry scholar Han and have a happy life. She finally confessed that she had only ever loved him and she will not remarried. Of course, he didn't die at the end.

Seems like we have a long way to go to see their mutual love. I hope it's different from what the spoiler because that's so predictable.

I saw the spoiler for their loveline in the final episodes and was quite disappointed. Don't know if it was true but the drama seems to follow the usual c-drama tropes.

I agree with this. People are judging his character as they expect him to be this perfect gentleman. They're all flawed and he had no experience on how to treat a woman. So it's expected he's stupid and selfish in his ways. The journey of his growth is what the writer is hoping to portray. If people don't like then they shouldn't watch it then.

He's certainly not perfect but he's not awful. They're all flawed in their own ways and so is the FL. It's a journey of growth for the character and that is what will make a good drama. If they're all perfect then what's there to see.

It's fiction. They can come up with a million ways to come up with a way out. This drama is about a women's trials and much less about romance.

Stupid thought I had for the plot. I know it will not go that way but could be fun to think about. What if he finally gives in and gives her a divorce after seeing that he couldn't win her heart. Maybe they could introduce another likeable female for the male lead to make her jealous. By then she had fallen for him but it was too late. He wanted let her live the free life she learned for. Win-win for everyone. 😆

Yes. I feel the same way. He's very supportive towards her in the drama. I think his family will all love her at the end so I want them to live a long life together.

You're on point about both of them. I don't think she would get to do much being scholar Han's wife. She'll just be the house wife. It'll be a waste of her intelligence and talents. Either way, she had no said in her marriage just like any other women that time. She didn't have feelings for Scholar Han yet and will just go along with her parent's wishes.

People are fussing over ML the decree as if they live in modern times. They saw it as a normal thing as he was forced into two marriages as well. I think he had good intentions of pursuing her but he panicked because scholar Han already beat him to it. She would probably be married to Han very quickly given the situation. In his mind, he already lost his chances of trying to pursue her. She had so much in common with Han and they see each other every day.

I'm not saying that I agree to his decree but I see why he came to this desperate move. I don't think we would have any story if she went on to marry Han. That would have been a different story already. It's just fiction people.

He's not properly clothed either so they'll probably have to get marry if someone caught them.

Anyone read the novel to know what is to come in ep #22 preview? Why is LX and the new character caught in that situation?
