Can I ask what actress were you talking about? hehe
Thanks your the info. I don't know about all these scandals. I hope it's not true. I guess if it's true, I guess we shouldn't be surprise. It's a competitive ground. So many pretty actresses and one must have connections to really stand out. Liu Shi Shi does seem like she doesn't care for the celeb life. She just wants to act and live a normal life.

Hope Zhang Ling He get voted as one of the most handsome man in the world 🤞🤞🤞cause he is 🫠🔥🔥🔥
And he's quite smart too as he really like physics. Life is too unfair huh. How can someone be that handsome and so smart too! lol I hope Bai Lu and him are dating in real life. They're too cute together. Mostly likely, they're just putting up a front to promote each other but one can dream.

Can you imagine how good looking their kids will be if they get marry! lol Though I can see that someone as good looking as him will not stay faithful. Especially in this kind of industry where there are hot girls everywhere.

But sets a new standard for period cdramas. Y'all know how disappointing kisses can be in cdramas.............or…
I think it's because he's married so he didn't want to his wife to have ideas. Or maybe she made him do it. lol

Is that why there are way too many scenes of her....I actually wish there was a DVD cut where they slash out lots…
I felt that her plotting scenes could have been cut to make way for more story line with Zhang Zhe as he's the central person to the story. Instead they changed his his rebirth from the novel. Which made the drama Zhang Zhe love line seemed insignificant. Also, we didn't get the time gap when Ning Er was living outside the capital while expanding her business. It's pivotal to the story as it was the time when she had more interactions with Xie Wie. I rather more screen time with Xie Wei than seeing the palace antics. lol It's always a "what could have been" with every drama.

Does this show has love triangle? I heard fl will marry someone else than the ml
I get the hint from the previous episodes that the Prince that kidnapped the King has feelings for her. That is just my take though so it could be wrong.

I just finished watching it, and imo it's quite good, the setting, plot, character relation, the lore etc is very…
I felt like that too when I first finished the series. I did watch it again and I understood his character better the second time. I guess the writer was trying to show that her love for him did soften and changed him over time as evident at the end of the last episode. She was his saving grace. I think out of the all guys, he needed her the most. The other guys can happily live on without her but for Xie Wei it's not the same. The drama version is alot better as he's alot nicer to her than in the novel. I wonder why novel writers like to to create these types of characters. I guess there's an audience for it so that's why they do it as this novel was quite popular. It was the same for Zhao Lu Si's old drama "Love Better than Immortality". The main character was quite violent towards her the whole book and we romanticize these kinds of relationships. They made his character more likeable in the series of course but still. lol

Anw, I don't mind the SOKP love story. In the drama, he treats her alot better and never wanted anything to harm her. His mental illness went away after their marriage so I think they will live happily. It's fiction after all.

It’s S level this time. So far from looking at the bts settings and costumes, it is definitely a bigger budget…
Thanks for the info! :) I'm excited for this because Bai Lu looks amazing in the costumes. However, I wish the male lead was someone else. I never warmed up to Ao Rui Peng. I wish she pair up with Liu Xue Yi or Chen Zhe Yuan. If only Zhang Ling He and Bai Lu would pair up in another drama again. They will probably not work together again with the dating rumors but one can dream. lol

Does anyone know if this is an S level production? The director looks like it's the same person as Kunning palace so i'm a bit worry. The story was great there but the way it was filmed kind of ruined it for me at times. I still loved it because of Bai Lu and Zhang Ling He. S. I hope she will keep doing ancient dramas instead of venturing into movies.

Is it just me or is the male lead unbearably attractive?? I was basically screaming at my tv, that I understand…
He looks alot better here. There were some dramas where I didn't think his looks stood out much. He's definitely very tall so that will definitely be to his advantage as he fits the strong build characters. However, I don't find him very attractive in real life as everybody has their own preference. He does look good here and styling does fit him well.

Wow thanks for the info. They really done a great job. Love this drama and the whole casts. The production is…
Thank you! So much work go into getting a good shot huh. I love nature so I loved that they actually made the so much effort for those scenes.

omg i'm loving this series. Even more than SOKP. The production value is amazing and the scenery just awesome. I really appreciated the fact that they actually made the effort to go all the way out to the canyons to get those shots. It made the escape scene so fun to watch.

Ep 7 soldiers scene was too funny. I never noticed Alen Feng as much before but he's quite good at his comedic role here.

Maybe it's just me but I find Liu Shi Shi a bit too skinny for the role. She's definitely very beautiful and she gives off the cold vibe but I find her a bit delicate.

coming from SOKP, you can immediately see the vast difference in budget lol this drama just screams money. you…
Yes, the fighting scenes here are awesome. The visuals so much better SOKP. I love the cast there but sometimes the director's light effects just ruined it for me at times. I still enjoyed it though.

I hope this story keeps. It's a great mixture of angst and comedy.

Title Story of Kunning Palace Spoiler
I agree with you that it's hard to digest this kind of storyline at times. I do love the leads but I do find it…
The other commenters who read the novel said that they slept together during the time when they had to fake being lovers. He couldn't take it after a couple nights of her fake moaning and she gave in. The scene in ep. 36 was apparently really violent in the novel. He wanted to poison her because of his rage that she went to see ZZ. He gave her poison wine but decided to not to through in the end. He threw her in the bathtub and raped her. That was why she said she didn't want to marry him.

In the drama, I was scratching my head why she didn't want to marry him since she decided to sleep with him. Good thing they didn't stick with the novel. They really made his character like a madman. Even if she decided to be with him, it would probably because of sympathy. There is no way to love someone that abusive.

Yea, the scene of them sleeping together got me scratching my head because she just realized her feelings for him. When she was looking at his hand and she decided to give in to him made me think that she just wanted to pay her debt to him because he saved her. It didn't happened that way in the novel as people said they already been together when they were captured. So because the drama is much more condensed, some of the stuff didn't make as much sense.

I'm glad they made the drama more PG. The novel sounds too dark. I felt like she wouldn't be able to be with other people if she tried. He would probably kill her and himself. It's doubtful he would ever let her be happy with another man. Essentially, she was trapped the moment he laid eyes on her. lol

You should still watch it. I still enjoyed the drama despite all these negative points. I guess if if you separate the novel from the drama then it should be ok. Most of the stuff were cut or changed in the drama. The drama is mainly centered around politics. The love arc is not the dominant theme. Due to the number of episodes restrictions, they cut out quite alot of stuff from the novel so I felt like the love story felt a bit rushed near the end. Still it's an intriguing drama and no dull moments.

The world of cdrama is so fascinating to me. The audience for them are mostly complete weirdos who like weird…
I agree with you that it's hard to digest this kind of storyline at times. I do love the leads but I do find it hard to accept how XW treated her in the later episodes even though he's supposedly less violent than in the novel. The character is still very controlling and toxic. I felt that she accepted him because she felt sorry for him and she felt indebted to him. Though the drama did showed that he became nicer after they got married so I guess we can take that his mental health got better.

The teacher storyline didn't bother at all as most men married girls who were really young during those era. Their age gap was not that big in the novel. She was already at legal age.

I'm going through comments before I decide whether to watch or not, you are the only person who has mentioned…
People said the novel is much darker. He was more violent in the novel and I don't think he would ever let her escape. Sounds like very toxic relationship but it's fiction after all. It's a very popular novel so I guess people are into this kind of stuff. lol

"I don't really like how their love story ends. It could have been wrapped up better. She got over him so quick…
In the novel, did she married him out of fear, felt sorry for him, or she actually loved him? I agree with you with the fact that XW is still too controlling even when they made his character more palatable. We would hope that he will become softer around her when they're married. I saw that her acceptance of his toxic behavior stemmed from his past and she will teach him to love someone better.
