Thank you for your explanation. It made so much more sense now. I don't think I can stomach that kind of character even if his life was bad to begin with. He still raped her and did that those things. Seems like he got more alot of mental issues in the book and who knows how aggressive he'll be when they're marry. She's not a good person in the first life but that doesn't mean that she deserve to be played around like that. I'm glad they changed that in the movie. It'll be too hard to accept their love.

I thought Yan Lin raped her when he was drunk? It was not consensual.
Thanks for the novel explanation. Wow the novel is indeed darker huh. So he raped her both times. I don't think I can accept it if it was in drama. So did she also said that she's not sure if she wants to marry him in the novel? Was it because he forced her both times?
The part where she decided to sleep with him really made me question the writer of the novel. Then to say that…
Yes, and the fact that she said that she didn't know if she wants to marry him?? I was like 'what was the writer thinking!". If she didn't want to marry then why did she decided to that then! They're just going to carry on a relationship and sleep together? It just didn't make sense.
I feel really conflicted after finishing the series. On the one hand, I like the interactions of the Xie Wei and…
The part where she decided to sleep with him really made me question the writer of the novel. Then to say that she don't know if she wants to marry him yet. I thought she wanted to pledge her love to him so that was why she made that decision. What they're just going to keep going on having an affair? For the era that she is in, that is out of the question. Plus she's from a noble family so it would bring shame to her parents.
What bothered me even more was that she decided to give up her virginity to him so quick when she just realized that she wants to be with him. I don't know if the writer was trying to put modern ideology into the series but that was just wrong.
I feel really conflicted after finishing the series. On the one hand, I like the interactions of the Xie Wei and Ning Er. I also feel sad for Zhang Zhe. I don't really like how their love story ends. It could have been wrapped up better. She got over him so quick so I feel like she didn't really love him to begin with. Or is it because we're missing the time gap in the drama that it just feels not right.
I really don't like that they still kill off one of the characters. It kept true to the book but I still find it unnecessary.
The one thing that really bothered me about about the last three episodes was how the love progressed between the two leads. They went from nothing to everything in span of two episodes. I felt like it didn't keep true to the era and how a lady should act. Even if it's someone like Ning Er who likes to break tradition. Her decision after the event was also baffling as she just went 360 on him afterwards. lol
omg the preview for ep 36-37 looks so intense! The preview for the second kiss got me a bit confused. I like Xie Wei but does he have to so aggressive towards her all the time. Kind of scary. lol
Urgh I wish they would have the option to extend this drama. The stupid government rule just ruined everything. Things just started heating up between them. I want more scenes with them. I really like Zhang Ling He here. I wish they would work together again but it's probably unlikely due to their dating rumors.
I have seen many saying earlier that none of the ML deserve JXN but today I think JXN doesn't deserve someone…
Yea, it's sad to see him go through so much pain for her. I find Yan Lin just as pitiful. He loved her so much. Not so much ZZ though. I find that maybe ZZ did loved her but he's more rational. He's the type that can go on to live well even if they don't end up together. Yan Lin and XW is a different story. If only she can just marry both cousins. lol
I know he's end game but I know what you mean. I'm starting to be over with her love line with ZZ. We're more than half through the story and I feel like if it keeps going then it'll be hard for viewers to accept XW love line.
At this point, I just feel so much heartbreak for XW. While all the men loved her dearly, I think he's the most pitiful one. While Yan Lin will probably come pretty close as well. XW was cast aside by all the people he loved since he was young and yet he sacrificed for everyone. He sacrificed so much for Ning Er and yet she knows nothing of it. It's sad that he doesn't know to express his love and yet chose to be mean to her because that's the only way he can protect himself. No wonder why she can't love him yet. I feel for his character though. If they don't end together then it'll be such an injustice for such a pitiful character. His life is full of darkness so at least she's the light that he can reach for.
lol me too! I find her too old for the role. All the other girls looked so much younger than her. I know we have to make believe that they look like teens but she just looks old. More like a wife with many kids.
