its not pure love, hrz only likes her because she’s kind, nice and help him alot. if hrz knows the past evil bad manipulative hua qian, he will definitely wont fall for her. remember hrz killed 2 ppl including his master before because they are evil, bad, manipulative just like hua qian was in the past.


the only man in the drama who has pure love for her? love her just the way she is eventhough she’s evil, bad manipulative person, is only zhong xi wu.

all the things you mentioned about how the ML is are shown from her perspective because she is in a dream/ coma, u have to accept this fact first that she is dreaming thats the FL perception about the ML, she was even wrong to think that the ML initially liked mu yao, where’s its actually the ML did it during her ex bday for her to be happy with her ex, bcause he knows the FL loves her ex.

its hard for me to explain really for the novel reader who’s trying to force the drama to be exactly like the novel.

the ML is not that kinda person u says he is, his actuall reality is never like what the FL dreams of. her dreams are all fake. this is the message the producer want to give us. yes the whole episode 2-29 are fake, its not REAL at all. beginning of ep 1 and the very end of ep 30 is the REAL thing. stupid director have wasting time by making almost the whole episodes are all her dreams, and only 20 minutes max are her actual reality, its the stupid mistake of the producers making many ppl thinking this drama is about hua qian and the bodyguard when its actually not.

everyone has their own opinion, u are welcome to view the drama the way u want it to be. I view the drama according to what I see, watch and how I feel. u are welcome to see it as the way u want it to be.

sorry to say HRZ doesnt have the bearing of being the ML throughout the drama, even though he has more screen times but its quite clear who the real ML is.

the synopsis doesn’t exist in the drama, when I started watch this drama I waited the modern setting implying she went back time travel to the past, but never happened in the drama. that synopsis is what happened in the novel, somebody ought to change it, its totally wrong and misleading.
after I watched it, I ignore the synopsis completely and just enjoy watching according to the plot.

I know everyone has many different pov , because ppl have read the novel and some dont.

to me who dont read the novel ending should be either she’s together with zhong xi wu or she dies. thats the only possible make sense ending for me.

the producer decided not to take the same time travel plot, but change it into a dream in ep 1, thus the novel ending doesnt match the drama ending. the main plot maybe similar but there’s alot of things too that are different from the drama, the producers wants to give different message from novel.


the title of the drama itself is different from the novel, scent doesnt exist in the novel does it? a title of a drama represents what the story of the drama is all about.
I dont read the book, but many of viewers has very strong reaction with the ending because its different from the novel, because they read the novel. for me the drama ending now make sense because I dont read the novel.
even the synopsis above is whats written in the novel and infact it is 100% wrong, its misleading. nothing at all about modern woman transmigrating into a novel she read.
ep 30 is the answer to ep 1, so the ending is justified and so make sense.

she’s only care for those who she “thinks” are loyal to her, one of her maid yinxing ( zxw’s person ) never did meant any harm to her, infact she cares for hu qian, she cries when she thought hua qian really die in ep 27, but because she’s working for zxw (now we know he would never do/ask anyone to harm her) hua qian never forgives her.

those ppl she’s willing to sacrifice for are her (she considered) own family, including her bodyguard, and she gives up her revenge for her family safety, the only thing that matter most in her world, because she loves her family so much, ok it’s understandable, we would all do the same thing in her shoes.

when she woke up and realised this is all reality she has to face, ofc there would be trauma, she wouldnt be able to face it, anyone wouldn’t be able too also, but its a fact, its a reality she has to face because she still alive, there’s no other better choice, not like living in coma until she die is a better option, this in unrealistic choice. so its just a matter of time for her to be able to gather her energy and wake up to face reality and turns out she’s not all alone, ZXW is there to help her, support, protect and care for her. btw she already realised that she quietly has feeling for him too, because she kept his medicine bottle on her all along until she got into misunderstanding/fight with ZXW then she threw it away. she just felt she cant be with ZXW in her dream because of her status as divorce woman and she has promised the grand princess to leave her son, in her dream. so we cant say that she’s being forced to be with ZXW.

thats why I dont understand why u keep insisting that its best for her to leave and live her life the way she wants it to be, in her dream forever. if u dont accept the synopsis or the fact that she’s dreaming, I dont know anymore, I’m just stating my pov according to the drama itself not the novel. I dont care what the novel says no relation at all here, I see what I see in the drama.

yeah like I said you are free to choose 29 as your ending version, we have different ways of analysing how the story unfolds, despite lacking of screen time ZXW is the one deserves her most, infact to me, she probably doesnt deserve ZXW, because until the end in her dream she still doing hers selfish way of only wanting to save her family no matter what, whether they re wrong or not, she doesnt care.

if you watch wang xing yue (ZXW actor) and zhou ye (HQ) interview, he explained from his point of view as the actor himself that his character is the pitiful one, he always doing everything for her sake, her feeling, but hua qian never does anything for his sake/his feeling.

I get it u sympathise with her character wants to give the best of the world for her, whatever she wants she gets it.
to me she’s not the pitiful one, she doesnt care about everyone else but only her, her happiness, her peace, everything else she can sacrifice, even until the end she actually blames him for waking her up when she actually never want to wake up. its the same like saying when u see someone about to commit suicide, u help n save the person, but in the end that person blame u for wanting to stop her for killing herself. its her right and what she wants to do, let her do it, its her life, its up to her?hua qian, she’s not a heroine, she’s far from it, she just willing to change because of circumstances force her too. she’s lucky she has someone who’s actually loves her deeply like ZXW. she needs someone like him to guide, love, care and protect her life. thats what fit in with the ending.

in the last 3 minutes, the producer realise omg time is up, no time left for HQ and ZXW to hold each other as a sign of HE, ok lets move on let us create an anime cartoon instead to extend the show 🤣🤣 to appease our viewer

I would still forgiven them if they give at least 2 episodes of her reality world, but nope they decided HRZ is the star of the show, he deserves more screen time than ZXW. I’m not asking much if they can devoted the whole ep 30 for HQ and ZXW is still ok for me, but we still have to see ZXW in the last 10 minutes of the last episode, when I watched ep 30 I had to pause many time to see how much time left when she’s back to her coma just to say farewell to HRZ,😂😂😂

up to you if you want to take ep 29 as the ending, but I believe majority of us here see that ending at ep 29 doesnt make sense at all.
ep 30 is not made as an alternative ending at all, its correspond perfectly with the beginning of the story, unless u start watching from ep 2 -29 yes its all same as novel plot but then even some parts are different, jiayin pill, the scent even the title are change to match the drama plot.

if you ship her with HRZ, try to see this point, HRZ fall for her because she is kind to him, help, save him many times, he only see her goodness never see her bad side. what happened to those people who are bad to him? he killed them both, the master and the evil lord, if he met her in her past knowing how she was like before, would he still love her??? I dont think so.

you are right, this is their mistakes for not waking up the FL earlier than ep 30, instead giving us rubbish filler in the last 3 episodes at least, whats the purpose of the cameos? not even needed and has affect on the storyline, or could even be shortened in 5-10 minutes not taking a whole episode.

exactly I dont feel any satisfaction with that anime cartoon closure, I instead question why didnt they make it the real thing? the whole drama has been tragic, and finally they give HE but in a form of cartoon? lol

yes and this drama gives better meaning than the novel itself.

some of us maybe has already guess its gonna be 5 minutes of last happy ending, turns out not even 5 minutes, but 3-4 seconds only lol, though I had prepared for the worst that she might end up die lol, exceeded 10% of my expectations 😂

to avoid our dissatisfaction they decided to give us an anime cartoon closure for what they future would be, whats wrong with having them act the real thing instead of this cartoon ending 🤣

yes she just wants to live her life peacefully after all the traumas she got, but still it is a running away from reality situation. its not the message of the drama the producer wants to convey. its about facing up to all the mistakes she did in the past and can not be erased just by changing events, this is one of the message of the producer that I saw in yt/ fb translated from his and the actor weibo.

I agree this drama plot eventhough is completed with realistic, make sense ending, it has many flaws plot, some plots should be cut out instead, this should introduce more of ZXW character development instead of giving more screen time fo HRZ when he’s actually only an illusion, is kinda disappointing I know, though I never like his character actually, except that he’s the only one who cares and willing to protect her in the dream.

the fact that we got limited time of ZXW screen time and eventually plot twist at the end trying to show the real character of ZXW is only giving us many viewers different kind of perception, because we see HRZ character development more.

I have watched the actor wang xing yue interview and seen the producer YZ comments about what this drama is all about. so knowing it, it helps me to see the drama accordingly. this should be shown in the drama itself instead of trying to lead us to understand about the drama outside the drama itself.

showing the true real character of ZXW in the last episode by merely giving us few last heartbreaking scenes I know its not enough. understandable that some of us have different kind of views about this drama because its not clearly explained/shown in the drama itself.

I’m a drama watcher and tends to rewatch again, so things that weren’t notice before would be notice the second time watching it, there are too many plot holes in cdrama and I’m actually surprised that this drama cover almost everything, even the jiayin pills, the jiayin recipe pills that wu shuo mo wants to the extent he did the 1st assassination, the secret recipe pill of zhong family is actually explained and played a big role as medicine to cure hua qian when she was coma and finally awake. things happened for a reason and has effect to the story plot.


in my pov if they end this in ep 29, this drama has no meaning. so if a person do something really bad, like causing other people to die, they can get away from it by changing the events through a dream/being in a coma? doesnt want to face to reality and stay forever in her dreams never wake up, because she deserves to be happy only in her dream, forever not waking up until she die? this drama has beautiful meaning because of ep 30, its a lesson learnt in life that a person must face consequences for whatever they did wrong in the past, she would surely change the way she lives her life after this, and she’s not all alone to face this, she has someone who still care for her who’s willing to face all this with her when she wakes up to reality.


remember whats happened in the dream was told from her pov, she didnt know before that she actually always have someone who really loves her all along, willing to sacrifice everything for her just like what she wanted when she asked ZXW if he was willing to give up everything for her in her dream, and he actually make it in reality in her real life without her knowing. happy life is whats awaiting for her after she wakes up. this is the plot twist of the drama.
without this ep 30, this drama is just an ordinary drama with no meaning/ misleading meaning, so you can get away with whatever wrong things you did by dreaming doing the opposite of what u did in the past and boom problem solved. I believe thats not how a drama should give message to its viewers.

apparently its one of the reason why cdrama censorship regulations forbid time travel drama, its to protect their ppl from doing something like that.

one of the example is one and only, in the end the FL commit suicide to join ML, and its ended. its based on the novel too, in the novel, both of them reincarnated in the modern world and be together in drama forever and ever.

for me as a viewer who’s not reading the novel, if it ends at ep 29, it would not make sense, as I’m sure watching on going drama, I rewatch the earlier episodes again and again, so I become clearer about the direction of the drama. it didnt indicate anything at all about time travel as like what is written in the MDL synopsis.

I would have questioned about 3 men on horse riding in a hurry towards where the FL were at episode 1. did he went to save her? did she survived? if she suddenly travel back in time after being rescue, would not make any sense at all, most important why she keep smelling this scent where everyone’s else doesnt? I have realised she asked almost everyone except asking ZXW himself. this would have to be explained, thus the title of the drama, its different from the title of the novel too isnt it? I have realised much earlier that she might be dreaming. also the way they portray HRZ here, its obvious there’s no romantic chemistry between him and HQ eventhough they both have more screen time then the supposed ML ZXW. thats why there are many opinions here about ZXW, I guess the opinions come from ppl who have read the novel and who doesnt. ppl who have read the novel wants HQ to be with HRZ, ppl who wants HQ to be with ZXW are those who dont read the novel, because its clear which couple has romantic chemistry and which doesnt. now the drama has ended, its ending do make sense and infact HRZ is just the male version of herself, she is still a selfish girl who loves herself afterall even until the end. feels weird if she ends up being with “male version of herself”. this would not make any sense.

the drama has stupidly explained this in only 1 last final episode with rush ending as usual, expected Cdrama ending. giving so many fillers for the last 3/4 episodes just for it to be like the novel plot. from what I read here, mostly are quite satisfied with the ending, at least it makes sense, because as cdramas watchers is quite rare to get a realistic ending like this.

I’m sorry go and read your novel only then, dont watch the drama, because for me who is not reading the novel, and I’m not going to read the novel too, it doesnt make sense what your suggested ending should be.
