I do this when I’m in doubt too lol. now I’m watching TPOB liking this so far as well.

wow I’m so happy that u managed to complete watching this and share the same experience as I did! see we have similar taste in cdrama lol. after I peeked through your drama watchlist I was convinced that u could try to give it another chance since we share similar taste lol.

you are correct also that there was part that kinda repetitive in the 2/3 part of the drama, nevertheless the way the actors carried the drama didnt get me bored at all eventhough its kinda repetitive plot ( the reviewer also mentioned it and said it was still enjoyable to watch because of these 2 superb main leads helped us to overcome this part ) the main leads chemistry is sensational!

deng wei and julia xiang are both also new to me and they both have a great talent and perfect visual together its amazing to see new faces are so great at acting and portraying their characters so well. not easy since they both playing different kinda characters in one drama!

btw xianxia is actually not my fave kinda genres, as most times it has complicated doesnt make sense kinda story, but this one does so well in explaining each plot once u understand the base story. strong story plot combine with excellent actors and actress make this drama deserves this high rating score (domestically in china and internationally).

FINALLY THE ENDING!! WOW it might be the first time I watched xianxia drama with this kinda of ending! well done to the producers for finally giving us this exactly type of ending we wants!

I havent move on yet from this drama lol. my next list would be TPOB lol hopefully I can start watching this soon lol.

hopefully the cdrama producers will produce more dramas as satisfying as this one lol.

I’m lucky also to find the review because it also helps me to understand the story better, initially I also got confused in the beginning because of the nature of the main characters, afterwards I’ve come to enjoy watching it especially with the main leads chemistry is amazing, u can understand the reason for the ML aloofness and coldness towards the FL while he’s actually in pain to suppress his feelings for the FL.

Deng wei is so good! he’s such an excellent actors who can potrays so many different expressions in one character, same goes with the FL. so this is the reason why this drama is very good in my opinion. strong plot with great main leads and supporting actors also. both main leads also handsome and pretty is a rare combination to find in one drama.

Omg what a coincidence, initially I was trying to decide to watch TPOB or this one. so glad I made the right choice lol. yes so many vid clips of TPOB in tiktok, but decided to watch this one first because its finished earlier. anyway happy watching hope u will enjoy it as much as I do.

I had a look at your list of dramas that u had watched. we kinda have similar taste I think lol.
I actually like this better than story of kunning palace.
I want to encourage you to give chance for this drama, for me its really worth my time, in terms of plot holes, for me there arent, this story plot is abit of fresh air from any other xianxia drama I have seen, even the ending is perfect!! rare to find in usual xianxia drama.

i like him better here than in the double honestly. too bad I need more effort to rewatch his scenes due to his limited screen time here.

I’m not dissapointing in zhouye. I have watched 3 of her dramas and she’s excellent in those 3, I’m looking forward to her coming drama.
as for zhang jing yi, I have watched 2 of her dramas, though I do like her too but she is a bit over acted in her dramas, but I still like her also nevertheless.
to each their own, it’s unavoidable viewers to have different taste.
lastly I love this drama alot, her acting is excellent, have u even watched it until ep30? she nailed her crying scene in ep 30 perfectly.

I have, to compare this to kill me love me? KMLM is unlogical, doesnt make sense type of drama, even the genre is different. this one is sooo goood, ML is strong, supporting FL, great chemistry, FL is also strong, pretty and never misunderstand the ML, so farr differences from KMLM the ML is weak, depressed and love sick towards the end. I rate this drama 10/10 story plot is excellent also, great chemistry, great/ excellent supporting actors/ actress, full of positive vibes this drama. KMLM is a drama I regret watching, not because its sad ending but because of overall story and characters are full of nonsense garbage.
oh yes this drama is also straight very HE! its current rating is well deserved.

yes! and the scene where he brutally tortured and murdered the loyal emperor’s eunuch and brutally attacking stabbing his brother and almost stabbing his father the emperor omg this guy not a human being at all! his punishment is a wedding wine? really? he doesnt look suffering also on top of it.
I like YQ looks, he’s good looking, but keeps forcing his way to be with her and honestly he doesnt serve a purpose to be 2nd ML here, only making things complicated and problematic.
I haven’t recovered from the trauma after watching this now lol.

I’m done dropping it at ep 24. thats my last stretch, couldnt take this anymore, even his peaceful death is soo far from satisfactory, especially when he died in general yin’s arm, she still loved him even after all that happened. unbelievable. doesnt make sense, her 13 years feeling for MJH switch to him just like that, to this evil heartless CP.

its true whoever stop at ep 29, they are missing the plot twist in this drama lol.
up to ep 29 is just a regular cliche, nothing special ending. lol

this drama is completely different genre from my journey to you. it doesnt meant to be angst, intrigue plot kinda drama.
this drama is not everyone cup of tea. I started watching this drama without any expectations and have just finished the double. I’m the type who’s juggling between serious drama n relaxing/light plot drama and this drama satisfy me and give refreshing feeling.
it lacks of suspense and thrilling, unlike my journey to you which is a dark, thrilling drama. but then it seem like it’s never meant to be so maybe thats why u feel boring at some parts watching this.

she regains her memory back in ep 17, he will realise her identity in ep 21/22, both will open their identity to each other in ep 23.

for me yes!! 10/10 drama.
depends on what you’re looking for, what u feel like watching. if u r looking for intrigue, deep, complex, angst, deep plot kinda drama, this is not the one.
this is a light watching, entertaining, funny, straight forward story plot, amazing chemistry between the main leads couple.

I guess so, because although this is a traditional drama, this drama doesnt have the typical deep, intrigue, complicated story plot. it more of a slice of life/ romance drama between husband n wife with comedy/ funny parts, setting in historical period drama. if u are new to colossal drama, this could be your starting drama.
if u like the earlier few episodes, u r most probably will like the drama.

exactly. calling other ppl idiot n toxic for telling him nicely not to discourage other ppl not to watch it, just because he doesnt like it and he blocked me also lol.

recently I also watched an even higher rating drama that I regret watching after completing it, I say negative things I dont like about it but I dont tell other ppl to skip it.
no need to be toxic about a drama just because we dont like it.

not everyone doesn’t enjoy this like you do, this drama is not everyone cup of tea, even the higher rating doesnt mean its a good watch for everyone.
u should watch few early episodes, if u dont like it just drop it early.
dont discourage ppl not to watch it just because u dont like it. others may like this drama.
