yea, not to induce panic (again my PERSONAL opinion) but it sounds like a bullshit excuse bcs they didn’t have the foresight to realize their radio silence and vague ass post would cause panic and backlash, and they want to hide that they’re editing the series. it’s just too easy to have included in their original post, so i don’t believe it. if im wrong, which is possible, then its still annoying bcs they have unnecessarily and unwittingly raised my blood pressure and thrown tian under the bus when he is already going thru so much. i want to give that man a hug. he’s a big part of what made this series what it is, and all he’s getting from it is harassment.

literally, a slow burn is supposed to build up to something. if we don’t feel like we’ve reached the peak the story was leading toward, everything just ends up feeling kind of flat. and in this case, part of the buildup has been physical intimacy. that’s what the narrative has been priming us for, so not delivering on it could make that arc feel incomplete. not every story needs physical intimacy, but if that’s the direction it’s been leaning into the whole time, leaving it out ends up feeling anticlimactic.

my honest unfiltered opinion (opinion not fact so don’t let it panic it you bcs i’m just guessing too) is, i do think they’re toning down the upcoming episodes. they obviously hoped the series would be a success, but i don’t think they expected quite this level of attention to the point of the actors being more or less mobbed. and with this extra attention, especially on the actors, i think they’re nervous to be as risky or daring with scenes.

i also think theyre hoping the delay will let things cool down a bit, but im not sure how much that would help tbh. if some “fans” are deranged enough to buy plane tickets to stalk and harass the actors, i don’t think a week or even 3, or 4 will be enough for them to chill tf out.

as for the viewing schedule, i wouldn’t be surprised if they change it to speed things up.

i know quite a few people have said they don’t care if scenes are cut as long as the show continues airing, but i care man 😭 i don’t think scenes are done meaninglessly. i think every second contributes to the story in its own way, and i think kisses, touches, and sex are part of the plot. i think removing them or significantly toning them down absolutely affects the story we’re told.

someone in the comments said when they originally watched it, the scene was there, but now it’s gone. i dunno, but when i watched it on gaga it wasn’t there, so the scene was cut.

so the original creators have officially made an announcement. viu was right. monday and tuesday’s episodes are postponed except the original creators didn’t say they will be postponed for a week, but rather they will announce a new viewing schedule shortly. i kinda had a feeling tbh, so personally im not that surprised.

since we know they have cut one scene for sure in ep 10, i wonder if they’re re-editing the rest of the series to tone it down or if they’re just waiting for things to cool off since the harassment and attention the actors are getting from chinese fans is insane or both or neither?

idk i care. i want to watch the series as it was intended to be watched. i don’t think scenes are shot meaninglessly they have a purpose in the story and add to the plot

now i’m team « just release all the eps at once ». this scene might not be that deep but im nervous what else will be cut for sure. i want to watch the full series, not something progressively more censored
