this show really slowly and steadily made its way up to being one of my favourites. when it first started, i wasn’t that impressed with the story itself (i gave it a 7/10), but by this episode the show has become one of the best thai series i’ve ever seen. i’m actually enjoying the angst so much. i love actually feeling something for these characters and their relationships.
also am i the only one who never thought black/gram would be a thing?? gram always lit up when he saw eugene, so i guessed from pretty earlier on that the confession note was for her, and that the “g” on those figurines stood for gene. but who knows, maybe there will be a last minute plot twist lol. i will say eugene and gram’s scene was where i started to really empathise with black. in that moment, i really felt like he had no one but his brother, and i understood a bit better why he was being such an ass
i’ve gotten so good at ignoring the second couple’s existence that i forget they’re there and am shook when other ppl talk about them lol. i have to agree with many of the commenters. they come across abusive so far. at best, they’re manipulating each other? yi thru being comandeering and diao with fake tears? at worst, diao’s genuinely terrified of yi.the worst case scenario is what the show is portraying right now, intentionally or not.
the main couple is obviously problematic too. i mean lying about your entire personality, interests, schooling, etc is not exactly the gold standard for a healthy non-manipulative honest relationship, and lian’s controlling, manipulative, and acts more like a dad than a partner sometimes, but this couple still doesn’t make me feel too uncomfortable. maybe bcs despite the major red flags, i can still see how the relationship can progress to a better place, and it’s fiction after all. i guess i have a “problematic threshold,” and they havent crossed it yet for me.
regarding the kiss, i feel like i’m more disturbed that lian went to such lengths to hide it than that it happened. it’s definitely non consensual, which is wrong as we all know, but bcs it happened only once, didn’t progress past a kiss, and they’re in a relationship, i was willing to look past it on the show (not irl), but hiding that it happened skeeves me out a lot. makes it seem even more non consensual.
im not even sure what im confused about haha, but ill try to explain myself.
lian clearly loves kuea, but he said he didn't in episode 1. im assuming he was saying he doesnt love this fake goodie goodie persona that kuea has created for lian, but im still confused on why he would say "i don't love you" then be surprised kuea doesn't want to marry him. like what his tactic? force kuea to be himself by being mean? then why flirt with kuea at the club and kiss him in the car? did he do that because he felt bad about how distraught and lovelorn kuea was and so kinda deviated from his original "be mean tactic"? if that's the case, why go as far as erasing the cctv footage so kuea wouldn't know the kiss happened?
also kuea in episode 3 goes to the club to confront lian and figure out if he was really the one who took him home last night, but then lian wasn't there so kuea just performs a song and forgets about figuring out if lian was the guy from last night?
idk maybe i need to rewatch the episodes. it's possible I'm forgetting some things that would make everything more clear.
the episode was super confusing to me. i can't really understand lian's thought process. even kuea is confusing me a bit. hopefully, things clear up in the next few episodes
tbh i feel you. i think the story is quite cute, but the quasibrothers thing squeaks me out a little as well,…
no, she doesn’t formally adopt him, but foster siblings or being raised together is still siblings to me, and in the webtoon, if i remember correctly, he goes on to call her mom because she asks him to. like i said, it’s not technically incest but it squeaks me, and apparently op, out, which is valid. we don’t have to like the trope.
i was just telling op that the whole sorta siblings thing gets easier to ignore as the story progresses, so i think it’s worth it to keep watching.

he’s more or less adopted by taesung’s mom and raised by her since he was quite young so i’d personally consider them adopted siblings* regardless of taesung’s feelings. step siblings was the wrong word oops
not a fan of the "NOT REALLY but oh well" incest thing. Is there so many people who secretly want to bang someone…
tbh i feel you. i think the story is quite cute, but the quasibrothers thing squeaks me out a little as well, even if taesung never considered haebom as his sibling. for me, the story is really good when they go to uni and move out of the house. it’s easier to forget the whole adopted siblings things that way lol

that’s not bad actually. guess we all freaked out for nothing lol
