as much as i wish cc would just tell wsw’s mom he can’t keep her illness a secret from wsw, i also can’t bring myself to fault someone who’s never been in a situation like this, and probably never even imagined one like this, for not handling it perfectly. like… chi cheng was a hothead like 5 minutes ago (wsw is why we’ve seen so much growth from him), so expecting him to suddenly navigate this super delicate, emotionally loaded situation perfectly is just not realistic. it’s really easy to say what someone should do when you’re on the outside, but when you’re actually in the situation and juggling your own emotions, other people’s expectations, grief, guilt, stress, it’s a completely different game.

realistically it’s a mixture of being caught off guard, having a slower reaction time bcs of his mental and physical exhaustion, narratively needing it to be long enough for wsw to see and misunderstand. it’s also possible we’re seeing it from wsw’s perspective and so it just looks longer than it is bcs he’s upset, but in the grand scheme of things it’s not like he stood there making out with him. he didn’t kiss back

i’m confused why ppl still think cc “deserves to suffer” for making wsw cry or whatever. listen i don’t love that he even acknowledges wang shuo’s existence, but their conversations aren’t problematic. he keeps it to wanting closure, nothing disrespectful. he was caught off guard by the kiss and pushed wang shuo off. like he’s in such a shitty situation rn trying to respect wsw’s mom’s wishes even to the detriment of his relationship. it’s obvious he wants to explain things to wsw so bad. like he’s suffering enough actually.

wsw’s wishy washy behaviour in the series actually makes sense to me bcs he is confused, doesn’t really want to admit to himself his feelings out of pride and, like you said, internalized homophobia, but his infidelity in the novel makes 0 sense to me, and all i can do is hope they tone it down in the series. i agree, his interactions with wang zhen started to feel more like an emotional affair than just thinking wang zhen is cool. it’s also really obvious to wsw and everyone else that wang zhen likes him romantically (even though wang zhen doesn’t admit, i think), which wsw does literally nothing to discourage lol. honestly , id break up with him if i were cc

well i guess it depends on how you define cheating. he doesn’t have sex with anyone else or kiss anyone else, but how he acts is shady *to me*. he lets a woman from work, knowing she’s flirting with him, rest her breasts against him and touch his leg, has fantasies about her being topless and then goes to tug one out bcs of it. ik everyone is excited for his idol wang zhen too, but idk he was acting kinda sus with him imo. it definitely felt like a crush, like there’s a scene where cc makes him keep a vibrator inside him and when he’s interacting with wang zhen he seems to be a bit more turned on by it ? like when wang zhen touches his hand and stuff . idk made me uncomfy lol

right now i feel most sorry for wsw bcs he was JUST sobbing over wang shuo a few eps ago and now he’s actually here and cc is clearly affected by that even if he doesn’t still have feelings for wang shuo BUT in a few eps i think i (and a lot of others) will also really start feeling for cc. cc is not perfect but it’s clear he’s actually quite honest and transparent in his relationships (manipulating dr jiang aside lol) like he loves openly and honestly but he still keeps getting betrayed. idk like we’ll see how ppl respond as things progress but either way it’s just a series and ppl can have their biases lmao
