personally for me, if season 2 added more references to journey to the west then it would have been even better.

wooow tbh my history knowledge is literally from just journey to the west, start of the ming dynasty, start of tang dynasty and three kingdoms. Didn't know this drama also kind of has a historical link to it too. Always thought this was just a drama n-years after WuZetian and DiRenjie.

what I don't understand is how does the princess have this much authority, as in as soon as she shows signs of using her authority like that and the king is on the throne in power, isn't that an automatic removal of power type of situation for the princess.

personally, I find them too stereotypical, king is a dumbass surrounded by scheming eunuchs and grand princess is a scheming genius (kind of).

but at that point though all rules were getting broken/passed on e.g. suzhe having a daughter and non-bloodline sect leaders. Surely they can make a pass for the only competent Mu family leader left.

it's different in Dashing Youth and in Blood of Youth.

I'm guessing it was that 'I need to be in the palace to protect her son, can you pay for the uber back?' then he just pk's himself?

in blood river we don't see them

in Dashing Youth they seem to have a slight happy ending where they ride away in the unset

in BoY we get shown that, BLDJ was supposed to kill Yueyao's sister but yuyao disguised /swapped places with her and he ended up unknowingly killing yueyao with his own hands by because he didn't know.

I just realised the minor interactions link up in Blood River and BoY.

1. he gets rejected by the astrology guy early in the drama.

2. in the end the astrology guy was like "hmmm maybe he was worth meeting"

3. finally in BoY, Astrology man finally meets SuMuYu during the DaoSword guy vs anhe scene, the SuMuYu gives him a respectful nod (probably cursing him, like we finally meet now old man...)

episode 38 the old astrology man vs sumuyu's relationship too

all I can say is SuZhe is the GOAT! He deserves his own drama.

it's anhe so what can you expect, but personally it wasn't that bad. It could have been worse.

After watching BoY I initially thought MuYuMo and TangLianYue' aren't together because of some misunderstanding / she did something to cross him like killing TangLianHuang and he just cancelled her without hearing her explanation. But no... they aren't together yet because she said so...

Who cares what she said, 女人口不對心!!! He should have been selling half of tang sect for that deBeer's custom ring asap and doing the classic gate crashing AnHe every week until she agrees type of stuff.

We could have seen flying spider knives secret weapons in BoY

episode 38ish WTH Tang Lian Yue and MuYuMo's relationship

I'm only on 34 too, but I'm guessing the whole first prince group gets chopped. Purely on the fact that they all seem like they had main character energy but also had very little screen time.

yeah it's so interesting, in Dashing Youth I would have guessed it was SuMuyu>SuChanghe, but in BoY it wasSuChanghe>>>>>SuMuyu, but this drama explains how it happened.

it's so different too since these assassins don't follow the traditional/usual levels that we see in BoY and Dashing Youth so we don't know how they match up.

seems like he has retired from the field work and is working in the anhe corporate office now.

wow what a rollercoaster, langya wang is deathly poisoned, why didn't he tell anyone? that would have probably solved so many issues, especially the distrust between the king and him, plus BOY wouldn't have happened.

it was only a very short 1min segment where the MLs just read it out, but he does end up being the next head of Tang clan in BoY.
