This is by far my favourite genre! I want more of these from China with the improving production quality and the many amazing actors and actresses. Particularly those with a beautiful and deep romance interwoven in a clever plot. Agree with Blooms of Ruyi Pavillion being a worthy watch for all these reasons!

Don't think I'll get over CZY anytime soon lol.

I do hope there are more dramas produced next year more to the tune of Renascence..(and obviously with either CZY or ZZH as ML haha).. .am still suffering withdrawal from that epic love story.

Thanks for your recommendations! I've seen a few of those and canned some that I couldn't get into. I think Class of Her Own is potentially the next one on the list...I'm waiting desperately though for Zhao Ge (for more ZZH now that I'm completely and utterly in love with himl) and Winner is King (for more CZY, my first love lol). Totally agree ZZH is more adorable and sweet in Blooms, he's more badass and almost a bit meaner in LoYX. I think I'll probably end up watching Blooms again at some stage after LoYX to get my ZZH fix.

PS. I have to admit - I am SO NOT INTO Merxat so am not experiencing any SLS! I felt more SLS for Duke An here if anything!

I'm also super impressed with the actor for Wu Bai Qi, he was so great at going from Tang Li as a bit of a silly young kid in LoYX to this suave charmer in Blooms!

I haven't been watching this but am a huge HYT fan - can you elaborate a bit more? Is he not believable in the role? I ADORED him in Handsome Siblings and A Love So Beautiful.

I've started watching LoYX now and am up to episode 20 - loving it so far! But I think like a similar comment from another forum member, I feel like not enough/as many scenes between our ML and FL as there are in Blooms. I found myself delighted regularly by the frequent cute and sweet scenes between the leads in Bloom here and am missing that a bit in LoYX so far.

I'm also a bit sad about what I'm going to watch after I finish LoYX as I feel like I've run out of dramas I want to watch in this genre!

Agree there was skippable stuff in blooms, but I loved that there were lots of sweet romance scenes throughout for the leads. How does this one compare in terms of the sweet scenes between the leads? Romance just as good or better?

So binged this whole series over a Friday and Saturday night (yes no sleep for me! Lol) and agree at about ep 35ish I started to feel like this needed to hurry along. But then ep 39 and 40 in resolving everything it all got so rushed!

Regardless I loved this and the love stories across the characters. Contemplating Legend of Yunxi now just because I need more! @wandereR your review of this series I really agreed with - what are your thoughts for LOYX? I hate sad or lousy endings so that’s a big issue that makes me hesitant to watch it. Is the plot, character and relationship development better, not as good etc? I found myself pining for more happy scenes at the end between our leads, how does LOYX compare on this?

Any kiss scenes? Is this similar to sleepless princess?

ME TOO! I loved the male lead, CZY is great I'm sad he doesn't have more upcoming dramas this year.

Definitely worth watching! The editing is a big cause for the negative comments but the acting, costumes and story are great. I definitely recommend.
