I can't really remember in the drama, but in the novel the grandmother knew the whole time Hou was the one who hurt Jing and she makes him swear a blood oath that he will never try to hurt him again and that's why during the 37 years he's at FL and XingY.'s house. THey also don't show it in the drama, but Jing felt really distraught and dirty after the whole thing happened. And in the drama, he tries to tell her but keeps being interrupted.
