I've never seen the anime or even heard about it before but I assume the director wanted Smart to look like the same character from the original show. personally I do prefer Smart with his original look, black hair and dark eyes.
This kind of BL's deserve season 2, we're enjoying watching this drama.

SuHyeon most likely went to America to be away from it all (I hope he learned something)... and DaOn and SeongHyeon are happy together probably in Dubai 😏.
