I read spoilers to the webtoon somewhere: So they are covering 7 chapters/episode. According to that trend we…
I am just praying that this show does not go the way of Cheese in the trap, another show inspired by an ongoing webtoon.
That show was an out of the box Rom com with one of the most intriguing and intense male leads and then the PD/Network (TVN) screwed up the final third of the drama and it had an ending almost all the loyal viewers hated.
It’s so cheesy and typical, I found myself rolling my eyes so hard. An arrogant ML and his subordinate FL (granted…
I really think you should see it for the manga adaptation it is.The fake smiles, over the top actions are actually part of the package and the show seems to be making fun of its genre as well.
So,kept it on hold for the longest time as I expected this to be the BIGGEST Rom com of recent times and didn't want to torture myself due to the suspense for each forthcoming episode.
Finally, ended up watching this and had a smile on my face throughout ..(have only completed 2.5 eps till now!
This is a show that requires real acting ability as there is not much else here apart from the interactions between the leads and both Park Seo Joon and Park Min Young have brought their A GAME to this. PSJ is literally living the role he is playing and he is being matched step for step by PMY .
The show knows it's a manga adaptation and the characters acting is so good- they look like live action manga characters
Am now keeping on hold after 15th episode as think ep 16 will be difficult to handle.Ep 15 had such good acting, esp from Song yuri ,that i was in tears througout the episode.
Understand why people got so depressed at the ending. This is a real tear jerker
Last year I dropped this drama at episode 3. Then my love for Lee Sang Yoon made me want to give it a try again…
I think you dropped this too soon.It is far far better than many shows.Still, its your choice..Have not seen Money Flower and can't comment though on that
Many of these shows can learn a thing or two from "Whisper" .A show where the protagonists start their relationship badly (He betrays her trust, she blackmailed him) and end up being each other's best support system.. That show deserved all the ratings love it got.
On the romance part,I somehow felt that Si mok actually liked Eun soo.He just could never express it.His expressions when her death finally hit him were heartbreaking.
I gave up on the show for the first time after 5 mins as it looked like a crime procedural ..didn't want to watch as have seen too many crime procedural dramas
After a few months and the show being continuously praised across forums and winning awards, decided to check it out.. Fell in love with it the second time as the story and characters was unlike anything i had seen.
This is a slow burn and you need to give this some time for the grip to sink in Once it does, you will have a memorable Kdrama experience unlike any other.
The latter half of the show made me tear up many times as the story and motives become clearer. Surprised to see this was the work of a first time writer
Apart from the leading men and women, All the actors have done fabulous work here..One of the best ensemble casts assembled ever.
The OST is superb and has remained a constant for my playlists
am i the only one who likes jeong eun and hyeon woo chemistry a lot more than dong hee and seong joon???
You're not .i watched the entire show liking their chemistry and performances the most.Theirs was a once in a time sort of pairing and I would happily rewatch the show for their scenes alone!
The reason is that these tropes keep the regular older gen audience attached to the show and gives it an emotional…
I agree..Still,there are some shows like which use every Makjang trope and then keep on subverting it (at least for a major part of the show!)..I feel My Golden Life was one such show
Since we've got some signs that Lee Yeong Joon is actually the boy who was kidnapped all those years ago, I'm…
The reason is that these tropes keep the regular older gen audience attached to the show and gives it an emotional core (else,it will be a niche show for a smaller audience ).
However,it would be great if newer cable dramas also would try to change the narrative

Awesome show and a great win So far!

Guess that's what happens to shows with slightly edgier themes which are not romance fests.
If you are still undecided to pick it up,give it a try.It has excellent performances from its entire cast. The OST is a gem and the themes are superb.
That show deserved all the ratings love it got.
I think I will give this one a pass ..

Give it a watch if you haven't.
This is a great family drama with excellent OTP chemistry ..
However,it would be great if newer cable dramas also would try to change the narrative
If you see the beginning with how the character turns out finally , it's w BIG 360 degrees turn
