I thought the PM had a valid reason to hate the emperor. Turns out his son plotted a rebellion and got executed. The emperor was right to have him executed but PM was the typical father who cares more about his only son than the rest of the family. I guess that's realistic for the time period at least.
There's 20 episodes left!!! It's not like it's ending tomorrow.
There's a ton of plot threads that haven't been introduced yet and this is partly why so many viewers here say they don't understand what's going on or the politics, because it was never built into the plot from the beginning episode.
From the trailers, the real plot doesn't start till ep.22-23. I'm guessing the ending is going to be wrapped up very quickly/abruptly again. The scriptwriter spent more time on the town gossips than on important side characters.

Qi Min at least has reasons for being the way he is. SQY is just too spoiled and reckless. Lord Changxin can't exactly be a good person either when he's plotting rebellion.
As for maids and servants, the modern viewer has to remember they were of a lower class and usually little better than slaves. The law doesn't even hold a master accountable for killing or maiming his servant in those times.

The point is he has to make a decision or as XZ told him that he has to step up and decide what kind of man he wants to be
