I’m on ep 29 where Yuanhuai’s real identity’s been explained. I’m kinda shocked he’s telling Qianqian…
The old emperor was suspicious of his eldest son, the crown prince and plotted his death. When there was trouble later on, he put his young son as emperor and abdicated.
The princess is the current young emperor's sister.
FCY's characterization in the drama is not consistent. She's either super cheerful and blithely ignorant or deadly and dangerous. It's like there's no middle ground. The viewer doesn't need her to be entertaining all the time, she just needs to exist and behave like a normal character so the more dramatic moments can stand out.
I think this is the scriptwriter's job and not the director.
Directors don't have as much control over the final cut as you think. Often the producer also interferes. Plus the scriptwriter is responsible for adapting the source material.
The director's previous drama, Blossom, had decent pacing and plot per ep.
Okay this used to be basic etiquette but let's repeat it for those who don't know:
1. If you're watching this drama on an illegal site, don't mention the site's name here or that you're doing this. It's a public forum. *headdesk* 2. Please use SPOILER tags. They're there for a reason.
Hmm.. scene editing is becoming weird and choppy since ep.29. There aren't enough episodes left for all the plot they didn't include so now it will be crammed into the remaining time.
QM and QQ's relationship is mesmerizing and tragic. Better acted and played than most side couples. I'm going to miss them when this drama ends. Both actors gave a great performance.
