She's smart but not all powerful, which is more realistic. I don't think she's useless. Her calm behaviour actually gives support to the other characters.

She didn't marry a corpse or marry all. That's emphasized many times in the episodes.

Watched the first 5 eps and it's looking good so far. The battle scenes were filmed much better than most dramas. The Wei family got enough of an introduction and exposition to make the viewer sympathise with their tragedy. Eldest brother Wei was quite good in his role. I also liked how they adapted the novel so far, the pace makes more sense and toned down some of the unrealistic aspects.

Victoria Song is perfect in this role: very belieavable as the daughter of a general, headstrong but with a mischievous streak😄 DYX is his usual brilliant self. Also liked the actress they picked for Eldest Princess role, she's perfect!

All in all, much better production and cast than I was expecting.

Wish I had a 80 inch TV screen to watch this drama. It's so pretty!
