10 episodes in and I'm still laughing. Often series use comedy to get the viewers hooked, but only in the beginning and then go into serious drama after 4-6 episodes. Mr. Queen seems to maintain the comedy while evolving the story.
I have a strange affection for this series, it's a good romcom series, but I feel like there were some missed opportunities for more drama.
One of those missed opportunities I felt was to make her have a secret child after their first night, that would have added a lot of drama and tension about keeping the child hidden. But instead they made the boy her brother.
It's a simple story, maybe they didn't want to overly complicate it.
I also felt the series was short compared to others. Each episode was about 45 min, but if you subtract the intro which had like 5 min overlap with previous episode, and all the flashbacks (there were a lot), then I guess each episode barely is 40 min long, and only 14 episodes in total. This is like just 10 episodes 1 hour long.
Maybe because the story was simple (not in a bad manner) they didn't have much to work with.
Wonderful series. Evolves a lot. I watched the first 5 episodes and paused watching the series. Then I resumed and about 10 episodes in it's a totally different series and the characters have matured a lot.
It's a travesty that it only receives 8.0 rating on this site. This is obviously a big 10 series. I've watched series with higher rating here and fell asleep. Secret Garden is a cornerstone series of modern kdrama.
Hoped for something good, but the story was weaker than expected and there was not much going on to keep me interested. I think there were missed opportunities in this series.
This is one of the best tv series I've watched ever. Perfect in every way. Every minute of it is perfect. Excellent story, superb acting. I'm blown away.
himself already posted photo where he said that working as cameo in this drama was cool but he fooled because…
Ah, well I don't know the backstory. But he does have more lines than probably most characters except for Shin Hye Sun.
But this is a great series, love Shin Hye Sun in this role.
There's something funny about sending a modern day male womanizer into the body of a woman in joseon times. Only south koreans can make stories like this!

I also liked the main actress, very lovely!
