11/10 he is the gravity of this drama in more than one way
Flower Crew Joseon Marriage Agency! Very, very cute and adorable and Gong Seung Yeong is one of my big crushes, so I loved getting to see a lot of her be hilarious and adorable. I have very few complaints about it and didn't know it was a "bad" drama until after I finished it and went to MDL and saw all the negative comments.
I actually liked it at first because I knew there would be a major twist, so I was completely on edge trying to…
Everyone knew there would be a major twist, and the writers knew they had to write one. Too bad they weren't given enough time to think of *literally anything else* as the twist. Not that the show was particularly good before the twist, either, but it was at least passable.
Wow, looks like a terrible show. Especially the part about the ending. This alone convinced me that it wasn't…
I'm the type that enjoys almost every drama I watch, and I have never been more baffled in my life about all the positivity in the MDL comments on this one.
There's no triangle here nor is there any women violence against men. There's one scene at the very beginning where a man assaults FL and she knees him in the groin, but that's it. No love triangle at all anywhere and 16 episodes of thoughtful writing and exploration of social issues. I promise you, you're thinking of a different drama.
I wonder what does Oh Reum's wardrobe symbolize. What's with the long coats and damn flat shoes all the time?…
My guess was that Go Ah Ra just put on a few pounds and either A) Was made so paranoid by Korea's toxic beauty culture that she refused to wear anything that showed her extra weight or B) The director/producers made her wear the frumpy clothes so shallow viewers wouldn't be "distracted" by a slightly bigger FL.
Honestly, this entire aspect of the drama was it's biggest flaw, as the script was written in such a way as to make the Park Cha Oh Reum character someone who could use her beauty and sex appeal to make statements. The lines the characters were speaking simply didn't match what was being shown on screen and it was very weird and jarring.
"Despite the poor acting of Go Ara...." Ok, no way I'm watching this... she already spoiled Hwarang for me
It's been 5 months, but I'd like to gently encourage you to reconsider this. That line you quoted from that review has nothing to back it up, it's just the typical thoughtless "Go Ah Ra can't act because she can't act" groupthink criticism that pops up any time she is brought up. She's actually pretty good here. Easily on L's level, he just doesn't get the hate because he's cuter, I guess?
The drama itself is shockingly thoughtful and well-written and explores some pretty interesting aspects of Korean cultural norms.
This wasn't the best drama ever, but it was cute. And I just want to say, Go Ara doesn't deserve to be talked…
That's how I feel about all the comments about how she "can't act". It's just a bunch of bandwagon haters, there's no truth to the criticism, especially not in this drama.
Surprisingly good drama. I was expecting a bog standard, plucky-young-girl-saves-the-world courtroom drama, but actually all of the cases and character arcs here were really well done. Absolutely loved the cast of characters, lots of excellent chemistry among them, both romantic and otherwise.
Additionally, the "Go Ah Ra can't act" thing is just a meme at this point. She's good here, even great at times. Ignore anyone telling you otherwise.

Ok, one more question: how violent is this?
Now I feel bad, lol
