dont just focus on the romance and try to understand the message of the drama.
You should read my full review. If the "message" of the drama had been the message of the drama from the beginning instead of laughably shoe-horned in over halfway through, I'd rate it a lot higher. I never cared about the badly-written romance angle here in the first place.
This is now my lowest-rated drama on my Completed list. I gave it a 5/10 and I cannot state strongly enough to anyone reading this: please, please do not waste your time with this drama.
Great review! I, too, did not really read a synopsis or watch the trailer, so when I realized what exactly the title was referring to (although it refers to multiple things slowly revealed throughout) I thought it was amazing.
I love the part where we're supposed to sympathize with and like a woman who willingly let a young child go blind so she'd be dependent on her. What a stupid show.
I'm on verge of dropping because of boredom. Ep 1 was great but now at ep 7 Park Mo Geon has had no character…
I'm just guessing here, but this is probably because the writers didn't think past the one night stand when they mapped this out? "OMG u guyz, let's make our lead female have a one night stand, ha ha, so edgy, so modern, so feminist" was probably about as far as they got. And Mo Geon exists only as a means to emphasize Ta Mi's agency and catalyze her insecurity, so he doesn't really need to be interesting. Just there. Like so many Female Leads before him, he may as well not exist without his Male Lead, lol. :P
How did you end up liking this one? I gave it a rating of KangSoRa/10.
"How did you end up liking this one?" = "What was your opinion on this one?" in my colloquial English. I now see how easily it can be misconstrued into "How could you like this one?" LOL!
It has actually already happened in "Love returns".Maybe the prestige levels of 16 eps shows is higher.
I kinda want to watch that one but I don't really enjoy, or even TRUST, family dramas, ha ha. I tried watching "Father, I'll Take Care of You" just because Lee Soo Kyung (my #1 all time crush) was the first female lead and after 2 hours of utterly, utterly dull nonsense LSK still hadn't made even ONE appearance in the show.
So I probably won't be trying another family drama any time soon, lol.
Slightly off-topic, but I do wish people would stop marking as "helpful" reviews wherein the reviewer blatantly says they FFed through the show. Their critique is useless. They literally didn't watch the show. Nobody should put any faith in those reviews.
For me, first 4 episodes the subs are AWFUL, so bad that they even get the gender of pronouns wrong constantly. But…
Ok, everyone, to clarify this comment, it turned out that ONLY episode 5 had really good subs. All the episodes after that went right back to the garbage subs.
Where can I watch better english subs? I was surprised to enjoy this. An underrated gem indeed
I feel the same as you, but I was stuck finishing it with the bad subs. Never did find anywhere that had better ones. The very first drama that made me want to find out how I can get into subbing myself, just so this show will get more support.

I'll be more careful in the future.
