I like Cdramas, they're my guilty pleasures but yes if you're looking for quality dramas, most Cdramas fall super flat and are mediocre at best. This one's one of the better ones because the writing seems good and the acting is good. The show feels different to other idol dramas really.
It's a coming of age story. Romance isn't the focus.
Coming-of-age to me can be young adults and someone who're still young enough like Tian's character here. But yeah, Self-discovery is a good tag for it too. The self development factor here seems to be more important than romance though, I'm at episode 7 and there have been no progress in romance yet. It's all about Tian learning more about himself and how to help others.

SKY Castle isn't a makjang actually. Makjangs are soap operas, basically dramas with over the top unrealistic storylines and overdramatic plot. Some other makjangs are Temptation of Wife, the World of the Married, Mask etc.
I feel like a lot of people here aren't familiar with makjangs or soap operas since they seem to think a character dead, remains dead. In makjang, a dead character coming back to life is nothing new. Many other makjang have done it before. And if this one brought back Logan, it would not be surprising at all.
If you think this is weird, try watching Hindi soap operas lmao esp the ones by Ekta Kapoor. A show isn't an Ekta Kapoor show if at least one person doesn't come back from the dead, either with the same face or after "changing" face through "plastic surgery".

Well her being dead was the main motivation for Suryeon and Logan to take revenge so bringing her back wouldn't make any sense. They could bring her back this season though.
