Ughh Wattpad. If it's just enemies to lovers it can work. But in Wattpad stories, the characters are just pure…
Trust me when I say this - they not only love them, but if you criticise the whole concept, they'll go apeshit on you. I once criticised a story about a guy who was abusive towards another boy in high school (like he used to beat him up on daily basis), who later falls in love with him and the author as well the other comment makers went apeshit lmao
I do not support all the abuse and shit ...but I like this trope like hate to love from enemies to lovers not…
Ughh Wattpad. If it's just enemies to lovers it can work. But in Wattpad stories, the characters are just pure abusive to each other. Like those gay stories on Wattpad about bullying falling in love with their victims. Like it goes from physical and mental abuse to love. Wtf that's just fked up Stockholm syndrome shit (hooray alliteration) if you ask me.
BUT!!!! They ruined it when ML kissed the SL but we didn't even get a kiss at the end from the ML & FL.
It didn't make sense. Like if he was so in love with the FL, why tf was he even making out with the SFL. I didn't buy his confession whatsoever. The FL deserved better.
I don't like the ML in this. He either likes the FL or the SFL, he can't make up his mind throughout and he keeps leading the FL on. Unlikeable character through and through.
I prefer the secondary romances esp the nerdy girl and the jock.
"which is why when I see people using energy on hating someone, I always side eye and suspect some level of love in there (but that's just me)." - There's a fine line between love and hate basically. Minhyuk's obsession with the FL was super unhealthy. The couple is the epitome of a toxic, troubled relationship. What shocks me more is that the writer of Secret went on to write Just Between Lovers, a show with a couple who're super supportive of each other, basically the epitome of an ideal couple. The writer is legit good.
As for my guilty pleasures: Korean makjangs (the weekdays drama that air Mon-Friday for 100+ episodes). They're so bad they're good. Basically. Full of stupidity and slap worthy characters, but they keep you entertained with their stupidity and slap worthiness. LOL
Also C-romcoms. They're usually so draggy, full of cheesy fluff and bad acting. But they're entertaining nonetheless.
Honestly if you ask me Junho made a bad choice accepting this drama after looking at what time it'll air. It's not gonna be a hit at all. It's airing Wed-Thursday on MBC at 21:20 timeslot, dramas during that timeslot are always struggling to get even a decent ratings.
Probably not I don't why they keep putting 10 episodes is mostly going to be 16-22.
Oh lord. Let it be 10 episodes instead. A show like this with 16-22 episodes means they'll keep adding BS drama just to drag the drama. 10 episodes means it'll be just the right length.
Upto episode 4 rn and I love that it focuses on personal growth more than the love story. I wouldn't consider this BL tbh, more of a coming of age gay drama so far. I love it due to this.
