Takane No Hana, with the lovely Ishihara Satomi, is one you might enjoy. Also, a blast from the past, Take Care…
Exactly. Whereas every year we get so many dramas of the opposite trope. It's not just with Asian dramas, the uptown girl trope seems to be non-existent even in western media. Although Netflix did upload a movie with that trope recently called Isi and Ossi.

Love Simon isn't an Asian gay drama btw lol It's an American come of age movie revolved around coming out. I couldn't find a proper Asian example similar to that so I used it.
Can I get a "Poor guy, Rich girl" list please? I find that premise more interesting than this one. I've not seen a lot of it, I wish there were more. Even Cdramas or Jdramas will do.
The first episodes show me, once again, that female characters are undefined, or almost non-existent in most BL…
I think of BL has a genre of itself. I wouldn't consider Ossan's Love a BL. For me, BL is a gay themed show with very specific tropes: 1. First trope is the fact that most if not all the male characters are gay (seriously, it's the case for almost every Asian BL shows!) 2. Second trope is that females are shallow, thin shell caricatures of the devil 3. If not the above, the female characters are borderline stalker fujoshis 4. Fourth trope is lack of labelling. Most BLs don't label characters as gay or bi or straight. They just fall in love and there's no exploration of their newly found sexuality.
On the other hand, a typical show revolving around a gay character is very different from this. For e.g Ossan's Love, where not everyone's gay. Another example would be Love Simon & Kiss Me Again (although Dark Blue Kiss is a BL). These all have dosage of reality, and are devoid of some of the tropes I mentioned above. Most of them explore sexuality as a character development and females are not discarded as evil witches or obssessed fujoshis.
So BL is basically like you explained, Hallmark movies but with gay characters. Candy flossed fluff, with zero realism.
One of my favourite Thai Horror movies. I love the exploration of curses in this series, especially this one. It's really gory, which I love and the ending twist was really good too.
Wow there are many cute BL actors that I love. I hope this has BL though
I think it could be related to the Art of Devil movie series. Which is more about curses and gore, lol I wouldn't expect any romance let alone BL if so.
If that was the ending then this drama doesnt deserve love at all.I got the ptsd of Something in the rain ( korean…
Something in the Rain and this drama has some parallel. While the former is better executed, the latter is more tolerable. Something in the Rain will drive you crazy if you hate annoying characters and prolonged dramas. Because you not only have an annoying FL, but also an incredibly ridiculous mother (FL's mum) and friend. Seriously I almost ripped out my hair by the end of it.
