I dislike Fanxing's character now tbh She's selfish and only thinks about herself. She has no qualms against claiming Luming as her fake boyfriend but she hesitates over everything when with YS. Like girl how selfish can you be??? Yes, to reveal that she's dating the ML would definitely create backlash but if she's that scared then she never should've started dating him in the first place. It's selfish that she started dating him and then when she came across the first stumble, she dumped him without a second thought and even agreed to date another guy soon after. I especially wanted to throw the cake at her when she took the pic with Luming to send to his sister, like omg she ranted when YS posted a pic of their hands on his WeChat page anonymously but she doesn't mind acting as someone's fake gf??? If I were Yuan Song, I wouldn't give her the time of the day. There's plenty of fish in the pond.
Sorry Victoria, I love you but your character acts like a teenager and that's troubling since she's supposedly 32 years old. Even YS has a higher mental age.
I watched, Chinese BL(Addicted Heroin & Advance Braverly) one of my favorite and nice story, but sad to say that…
Advance Bravely series isn't even a BL sadly. They stripped off all the BL scenes in it in the show because China being homophobic af. The novel is so much better and is full of BL fluff & angst as well as smut.
I'd have loved this show x10 times more if it had less Shao Fei-Tang Yi and more Jack-Zhou Zi scenes. Also I also actually liked the sister-bodyguard/butler/caretaker (??????) relationship, it could've been explored a bit more (I get it, it's a BL but still).
It's still an awesome show, who cares about the rating :) the change is very insignificant anyway... And UWMA…
UWMA is too long with too little actually going on. Seriously, 50% of the show so far is unnecessary scenes. Another problem with it is that even the novel is devoid of drama, so they possibly couldn't add anything new in it without pissing off the fans (Oxygen did and the fans are pissed, even though IMO it was a great change).
Why does everyone hate the ending so much? I think it made the series more emotional and memorable, so I really…
I didn't hate it, I was just going "?????" throughout it. I went like "What? When did he die???"; "If he's dead, then who tf is that Xi Gu guy at the end???"; "Why is there a sudden time jump for no reason????" etc. etc you get the gist. It just ended so abruptly and randomly and we got little to no explanation for many things.
UWMA pacing is really slow in the show, they should've added more drama into it (ofc original to the show since…
As a huge fan of Oxygen, I'm really glad they added more salt into the show. The book itself wouldn't translate well into a show by itself since Oxygen has even less drama than UWMA in the book. It'd definitely struggle with audience retention (although considering BL is a niche genre it'd prolly be less affected). I was kinda skeptical of the show until the trailer revealed the changes lol
I don't know if I'm the only one feelings this way but... I get really sad thinking about how a good (for now)…
UWMA pacing is really slow in the show, they should've added more drama into it (ofc original to the show since the novel lacks any dramatic confrontation) to make it more fuller.
Are we all gonna skip the part where the sisiter of the Zon writing fanfiction of his own brother ?????? Also…
It's not really discriminatory. BL is a genre in itself and has many tropes and plot elements that distinguishes it from other forms of romances. One of these elements is that in BL, all the major characters are attracted to someone of the same gender. There's very little focus on straight relationships, and even then the hetero people are rare as heck.
Another element is that in BL, unlike in general forms of LGBT literature/media, homosexuality isn't outright declared. Often times, they're not attracted to the same gender except for that special someone. There's less emphasis on labeling. Presence of fujoshi/fudanshi are also a common element in BL.
So it's more or less a genre that distinguishes itself from normal LGBT romances.
Just out of curiosity, do they film all these Thai BLs at the same university? This campus looks very similar…
They also all involve Engineering or Medicine degrees loool the only exceptions so far is UWMA from my experience where the main characters are all in varied faculties.
Victoria <3 and the synopsis sounds so good. But 41 hours is too much! (Netflix schedules says it'll have 41 eps) Why can't Chinese Dramas be shorter smh like even 20-25 episodes would be so much better.
