This drama was good--not really scary. I loved the two main leads and the "bad guy" was interesting. There seemed to be a few holes in the story and I really don't like it when they re-run scenes to Fill in the episode timing. Some of the scenes with the monk (I love the actor) were okay and others didn't seem to fit at all. Pretty good overall, but the last episode seemed a little draggy but somewhat okay. It wasn't really a strong ending. I don't know if I would watch this again re-watch this again (except for the main couple) but I'll still give it 8.0 out of 10.
This changed my mind about Chinese dramas. Can't wait for season 2!
I really like many Chinese dramas (also Korean and other Asian dramas). Since this has a sequel, I'll probably wait until that is over before I check this one out--I really hate cliff hangers when you have to wait for an entire new series, and there seem to be a lot of unfavorable comments.
***If you want to see 2 really good Chinese dramas, watch "Bu Bu Jing Xin" (the original "Scarlett Heart") and also "Prince of Lan Ling." Even just mentioning them makes me want to watch them again. They are in a whole different class! Also, one of the best movies I have ever watched, in any language, (seriously!) is "Red Cliff" part I and II. I was sooo impressed!!
I was trying to watch this but she's too stupid and I really can't stand her... I don't know if…
Thanks for your comment. It makes me think about whether to watch this one or not. That's the same way I felt about the Korean version, "You who come from the stars." Both leads in that one were cute as far as looks, but I couldn't stand the characters. The female lead was just way too overbearing and a spoiled brat throwing tantrums all the time, and the male lead was adorable but so overly quiet I could hardly watch the entire series. Unfortunately, I thought that the Korean drama was way overrated (and I love Korean dramas)!
This drama is so under rated. It's still one of my favorites! Does anyone know who played the campus doctor? Thanks. There were so many good actors in this!
Cute actors and interesting plot. Serious topic but mostly light hearted. Well done for a short series. Kept me guessing. Good ending. Rated 7.8 out of 10.
I watched "Winter Sonata" before and just finished "Story of A Man." Park Yong-ha was such a good and adorable actor. I'm so sorry to just now hear about his death. It seems a bit surreal at the moment. My condolences to his family and friends.
I have never liked reality shows--for real! And I especially dislike child kidnappings (or serial killers. It seems like promoting all the worst aspects of deranged people.)
So I probably won't be watching this one ):
You are an excellent actor and play all of your roles flawlessly. You are perfect as a comedian or in a more serious role. I am a fan and love watching all of your dramas. Keep up the good work! Take care.
I was wondering how I missed such a good drama until now. Loved the actors and the storyline was good--through episode 19! That is where it should have ended. The final episode 20 felt like "fluff" and filler. It was boring and I was so disappointed as I watched, because it was such a let down from the preceding episodes (even though the last 2 minutes were somewhat interesting but not done well). It was very hodge-podge, as if someone had to make up an hour-long ending really quickly. My recommendation is to stop at the end of Ep 19 and just pretend there is no Ep 20! You will feel much more satisfied.
Because of the last episode, I rated this 8.0 when it could have been a 9 or 10.
I seriously don't get the low rated reviews here. I have watched this drama three times so far and love it. The actors were great although the storyline was a bit weak and unrealistic I did not like the offending portrayal of Americans nor the mother and daughter living in a small "closet-like" space in a gigantic mansion.
Please someone tell me where can I watch this drama with English sub
Hi Syranus. That's interesting. Please let me know if you have found a way to turn off all of their questionable ads. I have tried kissasian several times on both my PC computer and my iPhone. It consistently stops continually to the point of much irritation! --Take care.
Just finished watching this drama. Watched this 2 years ago July 2015 and again now in April 30, 2017. Loved the lead couple and other actors, and although the storyline is a bit predictable, I didn't get bored at all and enjoyed it to the very end. The music was good and I'm glad I got to see it again. I rated it at least 8.0
I watched this drama a couple of years ago and loved it--especially the main characters (:
I'm excited to start it again now. I'll see if I still feel the same way. I'm sure I will!
I've fallen for him too bad his not that of a great guy in reality :/
Sorry, but I also would like to see proof of your statement. It's important not to mistakenly ruin someone's career.
That said, I like watching all the actors for their cute looks, cute personalities, and many different talents. But the most important trait is their integrity and compassion for others. If there is no true kindness in one's heart, even the "best-looking" people become ugly very quickly.
There's only one word to describe this drama: Disorienting. The cute fluffy romance overshadowed by the dark…
Thanks for your candid review. I started watching this with a lot of expectations since the ratings were so high, but after the first few episodes I just couldn't stay interested (because of many of your above comments as well as others). I hate dropping a drama--once I begin I like to give it a chance, but this will have to be one of them--at least for now. (I liked the actors in the this drama, just not the storyline.)
Ughh the female lead is so pathetic and immature. What kind of a 29 year old professional woman acts so retarded.…
I have to agree that I really don't like it when they make female leads naïve and pathetic. That's the fault of the writers and directors! I do think the actor did a great job with the role she was given though. The rest of the Asian drama world needs to get up to speed with the current century. I like dramas with strong female AND male characters otherwise it gets boring. Don't get me wrong, I don't like either gender to be full of themselves and overdramatic, but I suppose a little bit of opposites is what makes a good storyline. But I still love a story with lots of strong and independent characters (with a little romance and a few surprises thrown in of course)--and most of all a satisfying ending! Take care.
