This really is a good drama! I thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to end and will watch it again. I also loved the current-day, techie side of the story. The storyline is good (for the most part)--there were a couple of things I would have changed, but everyone has a different idea. The actors were good--especially the two lead actors who were so perfect together. I loved their unique personalities, but still willing to try to understand each other and give in for the other person's benefit. Side stories were cute and the ending was great. I definitely recommend you watch this one. I rated it 9 out of 10.
wow the preview for episode 15 -__- good thing this drama has HJE & RJY or else i would have dropped it many eps…
I started worrying after watching episode 14 because I couldn't imagine that they could have any greater content for the story, but they actually pulled it off. I wasn't bored or disappointed (except for the Shaman never did make sense to me).
I really hope this is not a new trend. I actually love new styles and trends, but her clothes were awful! I believe they did it to make her look completely different and stand out among the other characters, which they didn't really need to do because her personality was so unique. I didn't like any of her outfits until the very last scene in the park and they never mentioned any new trends in the story. I thought I was going to like the dress he gave her in an earlier scene until I saw the yellow splashes with the stripes. It seemed to try to be artistic, but it didn't accent any of her features or attract me to the design. It just was not appealing at all!
PS I loved her hair cut! (: She is so cute!
Thank you Soo Ho for finally telling that Shaman off. I get it, she has bad luck but to say things such as she's…
I don't even get the Shaman guy at all. I understand that she was very superstitious, but his development in the story could have been much better. Obviously he was the evil one, but in the end he just packs up and leaves? It just didn't make enough sense--it felt like a piece of the drama was left out without completion. I felt that there should have been some type of confrontation to a sub-plot of some type.
That was messed up how she just left him in the street. Really killed any romance.I rather have him go with Amy.
I couldn't understand that either. I know it was for dramatic effect, but they should have had her stay around a bit longer at least to see if he was still alive, especially since she was in love with the guy!
this one start out really nice... but after episode 15-16, it becomes repetitive and too draggy. which is common…
How do writers "Run out of ideas?" They must be either bored or unmotivated. Or the directors are. It makes no sense if this is your job and you're in the industry. Wouldn't you continually be coming up with better ideas rather than worse? It's not like there are no data out there to work with! There is some real reason why it's not done better. Maybe they are not getting paid enough or they're way overworked. Either both or something entirely different, but there is a reason.
I'm trying to decide if I should watch this drama or not. I hate wasting my time on mediocre dramas and especially getting to the end of 16 or 20 hours and being disappointed that something is cut off or dragged out. It just makes me not want to watch any more dramas at all. I could be doing other things with my life. If you're going to do a job, I believe you should do it right or at least to the best of your ability--not to just throw any old thing out there just to get it finished.
Re: newest format for mydramalist.com episode links (under "Watch Online Now" section). It looks much better than having to scroll through 20 screens to get to the comment section. (I hope it doesn't look like this just because there are only two episodes listed so far.) It would be even better if, instead of a full picture for each episode, there was just a hypertext link to each episode since the picture is already shown at the top of the page. Or how about just a teeny picture next to each link? Or even just move that section to the Bottom of the page?
Thanks for listening and take care.
I watched the first 30 episodes on kissasian.com but they must have changed the translator because the translation was so bad at that point, that I could no longer watch it even though I really wanted to see the remaining episodes. (I also tried YouTube and DramaCool.) So I switched to the six-episode condensed version and it was obvious that there were just too many gaping holes with critical pieces of the story left out. Now I'm trying to find somewhere that has a decent translation of the remaining episodes of the full 76. It is very frustrating but I will keep looking. I hope someone can advise me on where to find a decent translation. Thank you for your help.
Palace: The Lock Heart Jade (2011) is a Remake of WHAT drama? and a Sequel to Which one?
I'm assuming that the movie stands on it's own, but then what is the sequence of everything else?
Does it matter? Pease let me know either way. I would like to watch these in the order that they should be watched in. If some are the same as others, please help with that also.
Thanks for the article and all the replies from commenters. I love reading the different opinions (: Some clichés are OK and some can be irritating especially after you watch enough dramas to realize that they Are clichés and do them the exact same way. I think it's really about the acting, plot and how cliches can be used in creative ways. But one thing that I really love about Korean dramas, that got me hooked and keeps me going, is the way humor is used. It seems that Korean writers just know how to add the perfect touch of humor in the right places--not just in comedies, but also in many other dramas!
I absolutely hate Coffee Prince because of the whiny lead actress, and even though I enjoy Gender Benders, not…
Sorry, but I LOVED Coffee Prince. It was so funny and she was so cute! I never felt that she was so whiny--it was just the situation. I also loved the second couple and other funny characters. The grandmother was awesome!
This movie is just okay, with cute high school actors. It was a fairly predictable rom-com, nothing spectacular, but did have a cute twist at the end which made me rate it an 8/10.
I will say, as others have noted and I heard repeatedly throughout the film, that it is quite sad and concerning that they make so many comments about wanting lighter skin color. The prejudice really stands out. If you think about it, most people with white skin are always outside or at the beach trying to get a dark tan--which fades in a few weeks and actually damages their skin quality. "The grass is always greener on the other side..."
I have to agree that this drama was just okay. I watched all episodes mainly because of Ji Sung and the other excellent actors, and I like to finish what I start if it's not too excruciating.
The cinematography was beautiful as were the costumes. Even the overall storyline was good, but the execution was very poor. It seemed that some scenes didn't follow others in sequence or they were just short and choppy and left you hanging.
The chemistry between Ji Sung and Kang Byul was really disappointing. I kept trying to use my imagination--it was almost there, but really not so convincing. The last few minutes of the ending was okay, but just a narrative of history.
This drama wasn't really boring because I kept wanting to see what was going to happen in the next episode. I watched "Kim Soo Ro" on Dramafever, but sorry to say, the English translation was terrible (syntax and pop culture terminology for a historical period drama?). The timing of the display of words was really off also. It was such a challenge to get through this drama because the words would display for 2 seconds then disappear while the actors continued speaking for 10 seconds, so I was constantly pausing and replaying so I could read what was said.
I really don't know all the details of directing, but judging from the many other historical dramas I have watched, I'm sorry to say that this one did not measure up. It really had such good possibilities and could have been so much better, but lost it's effectiveness especially after the first ten episodes.
I would watch this for the actors and the scenery, but I probably wouldn't rewatch especially with the timing and translation issues.
if it wasn't for the ending i would be feeling fine by now, I am just so :'} :') and i just cant believe that…
Bridal Mask is one of my favorite dramas. The actors were so good with an amazing plot. So worth watching (except for some of the torture scenes--you may need to skip over). But I still loved the actors!
background music of this is so loud and distracting.sometimes it doesnt go with mood
I also hate loud music in a drama. I have stopped watching a few dramas because of this reason alone--even dramas that I would have liked to continue watching!
I seriously love this drama. It's one of my favorites and I've now watched it three times! (Update--I'm currently watching it a 4th time with another friend--smile.) I always recommend this drama. I really enjoy all the actors and it is so funny and touching. Yoon Eun Hye and Kang Ji Hwan are great together and I like Sung Joon from "Shut Up Flower Boy Band"--so much charisma! You really should watch this if you haven't already! (The rating is way too low on this--I just don't understand. It should be at least 8+. I rated it 9 out of 10.) If you're wondering if you should watch "Lie To Me" I recommend that you start now, especially if you need a good laugh including romance. Enjoy!
OMMMMMGGGGGGGG !!!!!! What kind of ending is that :O I just can't believe it ! Hyun Jun Opppaaa T_T
Sorry, but to me Iris is Not awesome or sad--It's just weird and stupid in the end! I wanted to like this drama, but I was sooo disappointed! Everyone has their own opinion...
PS I loved her hair cut! (: She is so cute!

THANK YOU for helping clear up the confusion.
