Just finished the last episode of Princess Wei Young. Excellent Chinese drama. Held my interest every episode. Main couple (Tiffany Tang and Luo Jin) were great together--also the two additional couples. Good storyline. The Emporer was perfect for his role. Also the male antagonist was good. Female antagonists were okay, but not as interesting. 54 episodes are long, but worth it. I would probably watch it again if a friend wanted to see it with me. The only thing I can really complain about is that it seems that all Chinese drama series show the entire plot from beginning to end in the first 2 minutes of each episode. It's very irritating and the only reason I sometimes don't want to watch Chinese dramas, otherwise they are usually very well done. I try to skip past the first 2 min 15 seconds, but it's still hard not to get an accidental glimpse of the main scenes and ending! I rated it a 9 out of 10.
I, for some reason, adore dramas where in the love triangle, one guy is pure and noble etc, and the other is evil/semi-evil/simply…
Also besides "Prince of Lan Ling" (Chinese drama), my other favorite is "Bu Bu Jing Xin" (also known as Scarlet Heart -1). Absolutely everything was perfect in that drama series--actors, acting, amazing plot and scenery, not to mention the music! "Bu Bu Jing Xin" is the story that the Korean version "Scarlet Heart Ryeo--Moonlovers" is based on. I really liked the Korean version, but I must honestly say that the Chinese version is my first love--it's so well done!
Cute Drama. Interesting scenes. Started out a little goofy but quickly got interesting. Lots of family and situations to keep your interest including comedy, romance and drama. Plot kept twisting. Cute leads. I really like the lead actors Seo In Guk and Nam Ji Hyun. I rated this 8.5.
Just finished the final episode. Really good drama series. Never bored. Each episode peaked my interest. Good ending--not thrilling or exciting end but satisfying none the less. I would have liked to see a few more consequences for the "bad guys." Ha. The two lead actors were cast perfectly for their roles. I liked the "side" couples also. Lin Ruby did an excellent performance in every scene and Yuan Justin has been a favorite actor of mine since I saw him as 13th prince in "Bu Bu Jing Xin" or "Scarlet Heart-1" (truly amazing drama although they did such a poor job on the sequel)! I love historical Asian dramas and if you're looking for one to watch, I think you should definitely give this one a chance. (FYI--A couple of other favorites--among many--are "Prince of Lan Ling" and also "Empress Ki".) Take care and enjoy!
PS I gave this drama, "Singing All Along," a rating of 9 out of 10. (Also, there are only 50 episodes, not 52.)
This was a good drama series. Worth watching. I loved Ji Chang Wook--great actor, especially in Healer and Empress Ki--one of my all-time favorites! Song Yoon Ah also good acting. The others were okay. The first episode was one of the best, intriguing intros I have ever seen. I would probably watch again and recommend to a friend. Recommend binge watching though--I think you lose a lot of impetus while waiting an entire week for the next episode.
This may be a good drama, but so far I cannot get through the first episode! It's so boring and disjointed. What is going on? The second guy is the only interesting one so far.
I just wanted to make one additional comment about the wife of the assemblyman...I cannot imagine why the plot would conclude without her having some MAJOR consequence for her actions since she played a huge part in all the under-handed schemes to maime and/or kill those around her to prove her power. I seriously don't get how they could not address this part of the story. "Please take care of mother when I'm gone" was not in any way sufficient in this situation!
This was a really good drama. I loved both of the lead actors--Kim Woo Bin and Suzy. The storyline and development was good and the acting was excellent. Never a lull or dull moment. Even though I didn't want to watch this at first because I pretty much knew the outcome, the ending was so well done and did not disappoint me. It's definitely worth watching. Great job to all involved. Take care. (I rated this a 9 out of 10!)
This is sooo under rated. I loved this drama--it's one of my favorites now. It starts out a bit slow the first 15 minutes or so because you're not sure what's going on, but then you can't stop watching it! I gave it a full 10 stars on kisskh and have re-watched it three times. If you want something spell-binding, this is it. Enjoy!
People think when moonlight finishes then scarlet heart will get better ratings and next week we will see scarlet…
Who cares if "Scarlet Heart--Ryeo" gets better ratings or "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds?" They are both good! I have been watching "Scarlet Heart--Ryeo" week by week (I usually wait until the drama series is completed) and I'm really enjoying it. Even though I watched the original Chinese version--"Bu Bu Jing Xin," which makes it so hard to compare because it is my "first love." But what I like about "Scarlet Heart--Ryeo" is that the storyline is just different enough to keep me interested without too much comparison in my mind with the first one!
Loved this drama. It is now on my very favorite historical drama list. Every actor was perfect for their role and the acting was excellent. I really liked the two male leads and the two female leads. What a great drama--a definite must watch. It had the right amount of serious drama combined with romance and humor. It was like watching "Descendants of the Sun" in a historical drama because it was so good although, of course, the story was completely different -- just really well executed. Congratulations to everyone on their hard work who helped put this drama together including staff, directors and actors. In the near future, I will watch it again (and again). Also, as a last note, I really enjoyed watching the Special episode 19 that showed a lot about the actors and how the drama was filmed. Good work and Take care!
This drama is an absolute must watch. I rate it 10 out of 10 (which I do rarely). The actors were excellent, the story, direction--everything was nearly perfect! I was pleasantly surprised to see the same leading actress in both (Liu Cecilia). I couldn't wait to watch each new episode and I will miss it now that I have finished the series, but I know I wlll watch it again without a doubt. It reminds me very much of another favorite drama, "Bu Bu Jing Xin" or as some call it, "Scarlet Heart-1" (the Chinese version, although the Korean version, "Scarlet Heart-Ryeo" is currently airing. It is also very good with similarities in the storyline, but a completely different drama. I am enjoying it.). If you are undecided, watch "Sound of the Desert" now. You won't be disappointed.
In case you're interested, another great historical favorite of mine is "Prince of Lan Ling." If you haven't seen any of these yet, you're in for a great treat! Take care and enjoy.
This was a very good drama--it just wasn't as dramatic as "Descendants of the Sun," but everything doesn't have to be. They are different stories. Interesting, good actors, good storyline. Good message. I could watch it again. A few dramatic "doctor stories" within. Good ending. Gave it a good 8.4 rating.
Held my interest throughout even though the two female leads were way too quiet and overall boring by the end of the drama. Actor Choi Soo Jong (Jang Bogok) was perfect in his role and I also liked Yeom-Moon (Song Il Gook) and other actors (:
The female antagonist was ok but a bit over dramatic. I was really hoping for an amazing ending even up to the last half of the final episode (51). How can a drama end like this--not just sad, but so dissapointing! From now on I'm only going to watch very long dramas if they have a super high rating. I could not watch this again --too bad. I wanted to like it more! The makings were there! I gave it a rating of 7.5
I tried watching this a couple of times and although it wasn't bad I just couldn't get into it (I was in a bit…
Maybe you should try it again. Sometimes I also find that I react to a particular drama just because of the mood I'm currently in. I watched this and it really was worth my time. I ended up loving it!
It shows "133 episodes" but it's really only about half that since the episodes are shorter than a regular kdrama.
The pros for shorter episodes are:
1) there are more "natural" places to pause when you need to stop,
2) more "cliff hangers" that keep the story interesting and moving,
3) it's easier to watch shorter episodes in between other things you are doing.
The ending is good and you will miss this series when it is over, then wish there was a sequel. You will probably watch it again!
