Xukai is a great actor, but unfortunately some of his leading ladies can't keep up with him. Like they can't match his acting especially on emotional scenes. I felt this in WOL too.

Xukai and esther let lose on that douyin livestream! Like what xukai said in his previous interview, they really are on the same wavelength with xinxin.

At least they have a live broadcast today to make up for the 3 days of no episode releases. 🥲

This drama is a case of bad production with great actors. I dislike the way the director has been editing the scenes. No tension build up at all. Like i said before, good thing the plot is intriguing and the actors are doing such a great job on their own.

I felt so sad for YJZ when he cried just after saying he wasn't afraid of fate anymore. There was fear, conviction and relief. I felt that. And then Qi came along and promised to be with him. That's all he needs really. He just needs Qi to support him. Xukai did such a great job on that rain scene and Esther really compliments his acting.

Did anyone else notice that in ep 19 and 20 the color gradient is warmer now. I had to rewatch 18 just to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me. Lol But I love this better! I guess its because we're now entering the angst part of the drama. And also Qi's voice has changed and matured when she took in more orbs. Esther, Xukai and all casts are doing such a great job in this. I cried for Mr. Gu 😢

I love this drama and i look forward to it everyday. It's just some scenes made me think "that was it?" lol but did you notice? They actually made the coloring more warmer starting episode 19. I like this better! I cried for mr gu 😢

Yep. The problem i have with xukai's dramas is that he's been doing so well on his own but his costars always fell flat to me. Even jingtian wasn't a believable lady general to me.

Girl you should watch Xukai in the variety show The Great Escape. He's such a scaredy-cat in that show it's hilarious 😂

I might get a lot of hate for this but i need to say my take on this drama. I LOVE esther and i like some of xukai's dramas, but i get why heat index isn't rising for this one. The director should have done a better job at editing the scenes. Its already ep 18 but i still don't feel it's quite there yet. Like where is the tension? Why are the important scenes being laid out like its just your everyday occurrence? The camera panning irks me too. It's a good thing the plot is interesting on its own plus great chemistry with all characters. The fighting scenes are awesome. OST is divine especially JS and Zhou shuan's 😍 (why isn't the ost on spotify yet 😤) But the overall editing isn't giving. This drama is doing well because the actors are doing such a great job but that isn't enough. I have a love hate relationship with the director and costume designer. Those fake ass armors look cringe for an s+ drama 🥲

I loved her emotional scene with YJZ when she was trying to remove the husheng spell. Her voice definitely matured like in lbfad. Xinxin's crying scenes always gets me. She's so good at it.
