It's done in an extreme style like comic books, so you can detach from reality. You mostly see just blood, a couple of very quick shots of mutilated corpses, but the gore is hidden in reflections, silhouettes, etc. it's bearable.

If you're worried though, you're not missing anything if you choose not to watch. It is what it says on the tin, there's no depth to it, it's a gangster art flick with a few clumsy social issues thrown in, related to being a mum and a killer... which is about as absurd as a Paris catwalk show if you see what I mean. It's not insightful in showing what makes killers tick - it's absurd because real killers are like stone, due to mental health issues - so the idea that a sensitive mum who is also a psychopath makes any sense, doesn't actually make sense, it's plain silly and the feelings of the gangster characters were not conveyed at all.

The John Waters comedy My Mom's a Serial Killer probably pitched the idea slightly better.

A bit like a cross between John Wick and Killers Anonymous. Not a bad take, a slightly twee portrayal of the age old contract killer sagas, but not totally clichéd and quite bearable. Bok Soon was still wearing that fluffy pink top from Crash Course. I don't know why we need to see an organised structure to stomach the unpleasantness of the underworld - the idea that they were part of a hit-person's club with rules was tired.

Nice enough production, but I couldn't bring myself to watch another episode after the first. I just couldn't do it, it's depressing, like the Sunday evening before school when you haven't finished your homework, it gave me an unpleasant, unsettled feeling. I don't want to feel like that.

The blame is correctly placed firmly up the arse of this shitty production. I was willing it on every week, but had to give up, I couldn't watch these great actors suffer any longer.

I agree, they deserved better than this shit show - they could sue the production company for damages after this. You have to agree it's abominable.

That's it then. The first 25 minutes of episode 13 is 25 minutes' worth of total shit, my patience has finally run out. With regret... dropped, I no longer cared what anyone was saying. Couldn't hold out 'til the end. The latest turn is like a mediocre amateur dramatics company trying to do Shakespeare in earnest. It's almost as if someone's trying to ridicule these fine actors, making them say and do such utterly stupid and pointless stuff.

Looking forward to this remake given the full k-drama treatment. I found the j-drama a little downbeat.
