Crass. She'll just get stereotyped as a tits and ass actress. Wouldn't that piss you off more than the people…
Try not to jump to premature conclusions. I don't see Jeon Do Yeon as a tits and ass actress, you have to look at the context of the comment to see my point, if you're still obdurate, I can't help that.

Stereotypes or type casting is when an actor repeats at least one common trait in multiple films until they're known by that trait. Therefore I don't see how you can possibly mention Kim Go-eun as a comparable. I'll just say that Eungyo is one of the best films I've ever seen, her contribution was immense and everything that took place was not only essential to the narrative, but galvanised it; the movie had only one weakness that detracted nothing from its overall power - a true work of art. No idea about Kim Tae-ri, I've never seen her in anything at all... but since she's young I suspect she hasn't made a series of nude films either, so maybe another incomparable?

Taking into account the direction of the comments thus far, I'm surprised you want to raise Eungyo as an example of nudity from thin air - rather than age? That was the overriding theme, after all. Up to you though. The arguments on this page are about age. My argument is that JDY was too old for the part she played in CCIR. Due the way CCIR went, it looks like this article prompted some to muse over whether they'd like to see a relationship between her and JCW.

In Korean films the 'romance' (if there is any) is generally more realistic and more satisfying anyway. There…
What's a squeaker? Mr Choi started calling her noona after a while, but it conflicted with the original set-up. I think they really thought they could get away with passing her off as 10 years younger, as you say, the writing made no effort to address it at the start, quite the opposite... Mr Choi saying "you look too young to be a mom" was probably an in-joke, but quite baffling.

Their oppas acting with someone older really triggers them. We don’t even know if there will be romance, but…
Everyone has standards - only idiots will deny it, to look cool in front of others. My standards for a character in her late 30s is to look like that's her age, or thereabouts.

The hair, makeup and wardrobe departments didn't do anything to help out either - if they're so precious about undermining the character, they should have cast an actress of the appropriate age to begin with.

It totally depends - 'film' is not a genre. In film and drama, the issue for me is casting an actor appropriate to the age of the character they're playing. I don't care what the character does or what style the film/drama adopts, as long as I can believe it. Why can't I say this without people getting touchy that I'm calling her old?

Again, you're twisting the facts from the narrative. She was around 15 years older than Hae-yi when Hae-yi was abandoned at the restaurant. You're in denial. I just don't know why, facts are facts.

By the way, the ages of the actresses are not the ages of the characters 🤣
You get how it works, right, I'm saying JDY was not playing a character appropriate to her age.

Oh dear, the straw man 🤦. I was referring to Crash Course - obviously. I'm saying out loud what you're afraid to say: she was too old for the part, it was jarring.

So, you have to live in Korea for 7 years to understand the first thing about the Korean drama world and naturally you'll learn the truth about celebrities' dating in that time... and wait for it... the people who don't live in Korea will be shocked when they find out? Listen to how you sound. Go on then, shock us with your superior knowledge, oh great oracle... no, don't - you'll wreak the wrath of the MDL commenters whose side you're pretending to be on right now, they hate salacious gossip even more than they love political correctness.

She's had a good innings but she looks like a 50 year old woman.

I'm happy with any scenario as long as she plays a character appropriate to her age, regardless of who she fucks in the film. She can find a boy of 20, or an older geezer like Wookie, or a grandpa, if that's where the character leads, so be it.

She can't pretend to be a woman in her late 30s any more. It breaks the suspension of disbelief, a faux pas in movie and drama making.

Amazing how stupid this comment is.
It's better to respect other people's opinions and debate using evidence - you're free to insult if you want, it's called freedom of speech, but you can't really justify it as an argument - it's at the level of the school playground, emotional and not regarded as intelligent debate.
