Killing their golden goose has happened quite often with them. That they haven't learned yet that it isn't smart to censor the types of drama's that are popular with worldwide audiences still surprises me. Maybe they are trying to fix the fact that more and more women choose to stay single this way. Is it gonna work hell no but doesn't stop them from trying.

Finally, we finally get this drama. Between the trailer coming out and now I have alread read the entire book. I was almost worried that it wouldn't come out before summer.

I am so happy that we finally got the full 30 episodes. It is sad that there are some scenes that are a little bit confusing because of the weird way it was cut but still one of the best Chinese dramas I have ever watched. I do have to say that it was easier to understand and more fun because I read the book and a big part of the drama followed the book quite closely. I am sad though that in the final episode Lou Weizhou doesn't find out the truth about Pei Su's past. In the drama he suspects that Pei Su has PTSD but in the book in the final chapter he finds out the truth of Pei Su's past. Sad that that was something they decided to cut or not shoot.

Okay I read through the book quickly and found chapters that mentioned Pei Su's childhood, some with his dad others with his mum. These are the ones that are important for the story line:
58,84,92,112-114,146,152,154,159,175 and the most important one 178.
There are some other chapters that also mention his childhood and those are: 21,26,65,73,129,131,145. These do not directly mention his childhood but show the consequences of how his childhood affected him, the way it changed his mindset.

Yeah that is pretty accurate. He also behaves really recklessly because he feels that no one would be able to love a 'crazy' person like him. He does believe that genes are the strongest in deciding if someone becomes a killer. So he puts himself in the same corner as people like his father. He wears a mask to pretend that he is a playboy. But Lou Wenzhou is eventually the only person who sees through this and who realises what Pei Su was thinking at times. I am curious how they filmed those moments because in the book these were very intimate moments between those two.

I know right. It is so good. I couldn't wait for this episode to come. It is one of my favorite moments from the book because it shows a bit more about what Pei Su has gone through and Lou Wenzhou starts to realize that Pei Su was not how he thought he was.

It seems that only one episode aired yesterday/today.

I hope that that is not what they are going to keep doing. If we only get 1 episode a week from now on then we need to wait 17 weeks for the end of the drama.

I'm happy that you understood the explanation. It is pretty difficult to explain the reasons without almost telling the whole story. I agree and that is, I think, also why Pei Su is such an interesting character. Yeah it is confusing with the changes. I started reading it when the drama got 'cancelled' after the first 8 episodes came out. Those episodes followed the storyline from the book but later there were some things changed. Probably to pass censorship or to make people want to keep watching.

You're welcome. The book was really fun to read. I read through it in one day. Yes in the end it is revealed that Pei Su's father tied a choking collar on Pei Su's neck trying to force Pei Su to kill animals to be able to breathe. Yet Pei Su doesn't get scared when this happens and just takes it refusing to kill the animals. This makes his father believe Pei Su is a child that is made to become a killer. His father also mentally abused his mother which is how she ended up killing herself. In the book there is some indication that he is not as affected by death as normal people would. Like in the scene ep. 12 from the series, in that moment in the book he just watches the life drain from Zhou Huai Xing's eyes. But for some reason Pei Su would rather torture himself that kill someone.

Yeah pretty much. Pei Su was taught by his father to kill. He doesn't want to so he taught himself to get dizzy when seeing blood through electrical shock therapy. This is also why there are scars on his chest. Later you learn more about how his father taught him to kill (in the book you find out only towards the end).

You've got it pretty much right. According to the book, Pei Su used it to train himself to get sick from seeing blood. This makes Lou Wenzhou realise that Pei Su had been doing this to himself for a long time. He gets angry with Pei Su realising that if something had gone wrong with the electric shock treatment Pei Su could have died. In the book it does take a while before Lou Wenzhou reveals to Pei Su that he knows what he has been doing to himself. The only difference is that in ep 13 it also shows Pei Su's father teaching him how to kill. This did not happen in the book. In the book Lou Wenzhou only finds out at the end that Pei Su's father was abusive.

Most likely not or at least not in China. They have a deadline when they are allowed to air it.

The ending of season 2 felt like they was more to him than meets the eye. Possibly a dark side to him with the portrait that was revealed. I hope that that is what he meant. Can't wait for his superb acting skills and hopefully another great story.

Couldn't agree more. The fact that there was not even a confession on their feelings towards each other is really a bad way to end the series. What if it can't get a second season? This will be what they decided to end with. I am also really disappointed especially knowing how good Taiwanese BL's can be.

Oh that would be the best. I really can't imagine any other actors playing the roles of Fei Du/Pei Su and Lou Wenzhou because they both really did a wonderful job. I just wish that the really emotional scenes would have aired too. Just those scenes would have already made me happy,

Someone on a streaming site pretended to upload Immortality on the 1st of April so yeah it is good not to trust anyone especially when it concerns Chinese BL adaptations.
