The 47-year-old doesn't end up with the 19-year-old. The school boys get together after the body-swapping shenanigans…
Don't skim the surface. The body swapping is a major plot point, but it's not the whole story. The love between the two school boys, and the bullying one of them faces for his sexuality, are integral to their character development and the theme of identity
I mean iy makes sense, straight people aren't interested in bl and the bl community is small, plus persons who…
The casting of a black actress as Ariel increased representation for people of color. It was a positive step. Stripping away the romantic elements from a gay original work decreases representation for the gay community. It's a step backwards. We will rightfully do a cannonball into the pool of outrage when the love interest or sexuality gets switched
We don't want your "straight" agenda crash-landing on a gay story. It's not about fear, or -phobia. It's about respecting the stories and experiences of marginalized communities
You said, "persons aren't into BL and nothing is wrong with that"
Why is it "straightphobic" to be upset about the disrespect toward gay stories, and not homophobic to dislike BL?
Ok after reading the comments and finding out why persons are mad I think you all need to really really think…
The 47-year-old doesn't end up with the 19-year-old. The school boys get together after the body-swapping shenanigans are over and they are back in their own bodies. Take a minute to learn the story. Otherwise, your assumptions will make you look like a horse's ass...umptions
LGTV? Did you upgrade us to high-definition? We were already fabulous in 4K
"Straight" isn't the natural order of things. That's like saying chocolate ice cream is the default flavor. There's a world of delicious options out there
If anyone's doing the washing, it's you. You can't straightwash history
I mean iy makes sense, straight people aren't interested in bl and the bl community is small, plus persons who…
So, because the BL community is small, straightwashing gay stories to fit your homophobic tastes is cool? Not cool!
"... it'll just show how the LGTV community loves to throw temper tantrums"
I didn't know we had the power to influence viewership or sales by pouting! We should start using our tantrum powers for good and convert people to the BL fandom
"... most persons hate remakes anyway"
Most people hating remakes is a weak argument. Have you seen how many Spider-Man movies there are? People love a good remake that stays true to the original story. And this, whatever this is, is not going to be true to the original story
"Straightphobia?" Please. I'm not afraid of "straight" identifying people. I'm just allergic to your gender roles, societal expectations, and straightwashing of everything under the sun
Here people having issues with 1-2 mins of nudity and sex scenes (which can be easily skipped) and there twitter…
Twitter is living up to its reputation as the wacky, inappropriate uncle of social media platforms. You know, the one who shows up to family gatherings with a lampshade on his head and a story about the time he went skinny-dipping in the neighbor's pool
so what? some Netflix originals AND Tving originals have those scenes, I don't see a problem...
I agree, it's a testament to the skill of the writers, directors, and actors/actresses when they convey complex emotions and themes without relying on gratuitous, NSFW scenes. It shows they trust their audience to be intelligent and discerning enough to appreciate a well-crafted storyline
so what? some Netflix originals AND Tving originals have those scenes, I don't see a problem...
The problems with the abundance of NSFW scenes:
1) the awkwardness factor
You're sitting on the couch, ready to watch the latest Kdrama with your family. You're excited, snacks in hand. Out of nowhere, a NSFW scene pops up on the screen. Cue the uncomfortable silence, the averted eyes, and the desperate search for the remote control!
2) the unnecessariness
NSFW scenes are a distraction to fill time
3) the unrealistic expectations
No one looks that flawless in bed, and no one has that much stamina
4) the double standards
Women are shown in a "sexualized" manner, men aren't
5) the lack of diversity
Mainstream media has a cookie-cutter approach to storytelling, and NSFW scenes aren't an exception. It's always the same man-woman scenario, the same type of characters, and the same unrealistic expectations. Yawn!
Actions speak louder than words, and the common occurrence of censored adaptations of gay original works speaks…
Gay person here. Before you go labeling BL as fetishistic, remember that society calls our same gender attraction perverted and fetishistic. "BL is fetishistic" is a line "straight" out of a homophobe's playbook
Come to think of it, "straight" media is guilty of fetishization. It reduces the opposite gender to an object of desire or a collection of body parts to ogle at. Are you complaining about that?
You've got free time to complain about BL. Maybe put on your big boy pants, pick up a pen and write your "proper" representation. Show women how it's done. I'll be waiting
The article below this one is literally about Gong Yoo mourning the death of his father, which is even less newsworthy…
"Marriage announcements are sensational gossip?"
Yep
The "moronic" take is assuming that gossip only happens behind someone's back. The best/worst gossip is shared right in front of your face, with a wink and a nudge
"That's like saying MDL should strive to be like NetFlix ..."
MDL is a for-profit website? It can't learn from successful websites that have different business models? That's quite the "moronic" take!
"Gossip" includes personal or sensational information that is true and verified
Dating or marriage announcements are gossip. The nature of the information being shared by official sources is personal and sensational. It's shared with the public for the celebrities' entertainment purposes
"... any criminal activity, any court rulings, any achievements, accolades, etc. WILL ALL FALL UNDER GOSSIP unless it is directly related to the public figures' occupation"
The definition of gossip does not require information to be unrelated to a person's occupation to be gossip. Gossip includes information about any aspect of a person's life, their professional accomplishments or failures
The example you provided about Billy's acceptance to Harvard is not accurate. Friends and family informing others about Billy's acceptance behind his back would be gossip
"The only standard your shitty criteria fits is government organized databases"
There are non-government film databases and websites that maintain high standards of accuracy and reliability. The Criterion Collection, the AFI Catalog, and the British Film Institute's Screenonline don't invest in celebrity gossip or news. MDL can and should strive for similar standards of quality
Please try and condense your thoughts into shorter, more digestible paragraphs, thank you
They've been together for years! Stop being jealous and go find your own love story, half of you heffas are so…
It's refreshing to see someone advocating for an inclusive environment where all comments, positive or negative, are welcome. I'm touched by your willingness to stand up for our right to share our thoughts
If I were Korean, I wouldn't "get busy." Kids are not pawns in a financial game. Governments should make sure…
Birth isn't admirable or something to celebrate, it's adding another mouth to feed and another person to complain about traffic. Low birth rates = low stress rates. Less people means more room to stretch out and have fun without the hustle and bustle of overcrowding. I don't see an issue. I'm rooting for the eventual disappearance of all countries
Korea "dwindling away into oblivion" due to a low birth rate is an overly dramatic and alarmist claim. Korean people don't have an obligation to have kids to maintain the country's prosperity
Governments subsidizing parenthood and engineering family planning decisions is a paternalistic, short-sighted game that will have negative unintended consequences. Citizens will be encouraged to have kids they are not ready for in exchange for government benefits
The responsible, compassionate approach would be to improve education, healthcare, and infrastructure. To improve the quality of life for existing citizens

29 and 19. It changes the dynamic. The 19-year-old is legally an adult capable of making important decisions. His relationship with the 29-year-old complies with Korean statutory requirements. It wouldn't be problematic
I didn't feel that Love for Love's Sake was "pedophilic" or "borderline pedophilic" A "pedophile" is sexually…
The age difference should be considered within the context of Korean culture and age reckoning system. Korean people are one year old at birth. They gain an additional year on New Year's Day. This is different from international age, where a person's age increases on their birthday
The Korean age of attaining legal adulthood is 19 (an international age of 18). The characters' Korean ages are 29 and 19. Both are legally "grown ass adults"

Media should imply that the characters hooked up and move on with the story. We don't need a play-by-play of their every move

Celebrities insist on airing their dirty laundry in public. We can't be expected to stay silent
If we read the room too much, we'd be regurgitating the same "oh, how cute, congrats" comments. Someone should break the mold

I couldn't find any information about the junior's age, I'm making an educated guess based on the information that's available
