Well, I respect your opinion :) Well said! However, ND said later that DJ saved him because of her words. She said she wants to live her life happily with him. Those words gave him power to press in! As an optimist, I interpreted the way ND slumped into DJ's arm was due to total exhaustion. Once he got his rest and remember what she said to him, off he goes again. That is the power of love. There are many documentations about wonderful things happen when one's emotion/spiritual health is taken care of. For example, recently there is a Chinese American Movie about a grandma being diagnosed with cancer. The doctor predicted her to die in a few months. The family did not tell her. Yet it ended up that she lived another 9 years! Another example that came to my mind is the movie about this scientist who was paralyzed from the neck down. Yet his wife and family loved him. So even though the doctor predicted him to die very young, he ended up living a good long life. Both are true stories made into movies. These show the power of love! That makes it even more important for people to see what love looks like so things like that can happen to them!
The first episodes were great but then boring boring predictable and then weird end. The best thing was the main…
I agree with White Life. Everyone is unique and entitled to our own taste! I respect you for expressing your opinion. There are other projects that people are very excited but I do not even bother to comment! :)
The ending was a very disspointed filler...they could've done so much in the last hour of it,but no,the dicided…
I agree with White Life. There are many things that a writer can write. But the most important is something that is related to the main theme. In this drama, the main story line is NK and DJ. To me, the last half of the finale is to wrap up and show what these two characters have become since the beginning of the show. For example, we see that DJ no longer needs the light on in order to go to sleep so she is finally over with the pain of the past and is living a happy life with Nokdu. We also see how freely she showed her love to ND without any reservation, definitely opposite to what she was before. ND also got to be with his mom etc. Meeting with his mom and see how they adjust to each other's lives can be another drama by itself. There seem to be no need to spend time on it. I really appreciate how the writer skip a lot of details like this (or like how ND won the competition to be government officials even though he was wounded). We all can kind of imagine what it could be like already. There is no need to spend time on these details. This way, the writers can have more time to focus on the plot and character developments and give us a very fast paced drama. Just my thought:)
While watching the scar ost/mv on yt for the 50th time a video suggestion popped up: Kim So Hyun &Jang Dong Yoon…
Actually it is smart to have sibling like chemistry at the beginning of a relationship. That means their relationship can last a long time. A person can have many siblings but ideally have only one spouse. If a person keeps having new boyfriend/girlfriend every time they have a new project, or have more than one spouse, that means rejection/betrayal/breakup/divorce may be involved somewhere in the process. When they do it this way they can have fun and concentrate on the project at the mean while. If one day they decide to be more in their relationship, it will be a more well thought out decision, not something they jump in and out just because of some projects. I sure hope that it will be a decision that they decide on their own in private, and not under the surveillance of millions of fans. My best wishes to these two very beautiful (both inside and outside) human beings!
I really enjoy the acting of KSH and JDY (yes I know the other people are REALLY good too.) There are a lot of very impressive scenes but I would like to point out two. I was very amused by the scene when Dong Joo thought that Nokdu was drowned. Dong Joo had all the different expressions that said so much but without saying a word. Then I looked at the wedding. Again I was very amused by Nokdu. He was worried when he did not see Dong Joo showed up and then she did arrive etc etc. JDY had so many expressions saying so much yet without saying a word too! It seems that JDY is a very sensitive person and he is able to feel many different emotions. That is why he is an excellent poet. That may explain why he is able to get a good grip of many different emotions when he showcases a character. I am very very impressed!
This drama is feminist! And I loved it!I love how they redefine masculinity and femininity. The women are all strong…
I don't know if you can say it is feminist. I see that they break a lot of unhealthy concepts on masculinity and femininity. Does being manly mean a person has to insensitive or refuse to cook, thus leave all the burden to their wives? Does it mean a man cannot cry no matter what, which is very unhealthy?
I actually abit dissapointed with the execution. I accept with the closure . But after the grant final previous…
While you think that the writers seems afraid to make a sad ending to avoid public unacceptable, I see this from a different angle. I think it is more than that. I would love movie makers, artists, musicians and novelists to accept the fact that they do have social responsibility, whether they like it or not. I would like them to recognize the impact their work has on the lives of the people around them. I observe many times that artists, musicians, writers etc like to let their imagination go wild, but seem oblivious about the impact of their work on people's lives . A picture is worth a thousand words. For example, in the "Tale of Nokdu" twitter someone thank the team for the show because he/she was thinking a lot of depressive thoughts this year. The person attributed the show to cure him/her from the depression. Another person (I forgot where I read it.) commented that the actors showed her what love looks like. The show made her think hard and deep on the subject. If the show is from a comedy and claim that it is a comedy, then don't give people depressive conclusions. There is a reason why people look for comedy to watch. We never know if a negative conclusion or thought would send someone off a cliff!
The moral of the story is: If the King had done what is good in the eyes of heaven, he could have kept his throne till the day he died. He would have his best friends, his wife and his son. They would all support him. Unfortunately, he valued the throne more than anything, so he ended up losing his throne (to his alternate form of a 'son' who was also born in November 19). He also lost everyone who loved him. What a lesson!
I liked it from the start but it really captivated me ep 7-8 and then the big twist on ep 13-14 invigorated me.…
Looking back, I am still amused by the 'plot twist' which start showing the progression of the romance. It might 'appear' that it was not progressing, but you will see:) BTW, I love the acting of KSH. She is great! (I can't stop laughing right now!)
Big Spoiler - He actually became the new King after a few years by dethroning Nok Du's father, but in end he was…
Someone in MDL commented that according to Korean history, King Yul Mu was wicked. He overthrew the previous king and then killed the previous king's son and daughter in law. They were around 25 when the couple was killed. So doesn't that imply that Nokdu and Dongjoo would be killed by King Yul Mu in a few years?
My best wishes to these two very beautiful (both inside and outside) human beings!
