Heart-breaking!!! Episode 30 is officially the most painful episode of this show. I'm so conflicted. 😭😭

XK said in an interview that this show has so many ups and downs in many of his scenes. And it is also one of the shows that is very emotionally heavy. I agree with him today.

And the reason we're feeling the anguish so acutely is because of how XK portrayed both characters. His acting finesse is unparalleled now. He's the best ❤️❤️

Yeah. I guess the script writers of the show have really stepped up. So, I'm hoping for some really amazing romantic scenes that have a reason and not just 'love at first sight' syndrome. 😅

But I need more situational scenes which do justice to Mei Zhuyu's affection. The book just doesn't explain it properly. Don't you think??

This show has been executed brilliantly. XK & YSX are so incredible with their expressions. We resonate their feelings as if it were happening to us.

Also, each secondary character has their own unique Story Arc. All have concrete character progressions.

I wish the show had 50 episodes at least. There's a lot of back story that remains to be explored. One of the best Wuxia/Fantasy drama that I've watched so far. 10/10 for me 😍😍

The book is obviously raw and needs a lot of fine tuning but the central plot line , if reworked properly definitely has the potential to turn into something at par with LBFAD, Love & Redemption, Ashes of Love etc.
And if Xu Kai's praised the script then I'm eagerly waiting for its release. It's gonna be a very, long wait though, probably by next year 😄

Mei Zhuyu is a little mysterious. He's presented as an official working in the Department of Punishment i.e. I think equivalent to modern day Police Detectives.

He's cold, an introvert, inconspicuous and just minds his own business. Basically like an Ice Prince. But, he has another identity which is in stark contrast to his human/ordinary persona. He keeps it hidden due to obvious reasons.

Wu Zhen is Mei Zhuyu's polar opposite. She is this strong, independent, loud, uninhibited woman who knows that her reputation as an old maid (an unmarried woman at her age, in that time period was probably a big deal I guess) is set in stone. But she accepts it completely. This is also a facade she's created for herself.

And, from what I've read so far, their behavioural differences plus their treatment of each other becomes the reason for this very strong mutual attraction/connection between WZ & MZY.

Also, there's the supernatural factor in this novel that both WZ & MZY have to face together.
But due to Google translate, I think I'm missing out on a lot of finer aspects of this story which I hope the writers have honed to perfection.
