Thank you so much for compiling this list..really looking forward to the next parts. I've been on the hunt for…
I know what you mean. These days I mostly watch movies compared to dramas, because of the lack of time and I found some really interesting ones along the way
Thank you for taking your time and your effort.Kim Ki Duk is a well-known misogynist. Koreans never accepted him…
I have to say that I didn't know that about Kim Ki Duk, as I haven't really followed his work nor his public life. I for sure am not one to promote these kind of behaviors and I agree with you about how these people shouldn't be advertised. This was my fault for not properly researching him before posting this, but it really didn't cross my mind - the more you know. (I will keep this in mind in the future)
Sorry, but the movie Django is one of the films that got me to start really disliking Tarantino. All his films…
I know what you mean about the movies that Tarantino makes, most of the time they aren't really my cup of tea, and I wouldn't consider him one of my favorites, I enjoyed some of his works though (Pulp Fiction, The Hateful Eight).
As for Parasite, I am actually a big fan of it. S Korea is so often portrayed as a very glamorous country, both by dramas and kpop, but in truth it has its own social problems, that are experienced by its citizens. I think it was an interesting and meaningful approach of the difference between the social classes and how it can influence people. Of course because it's a movie, maybe it was dramatized for a stronger effect, but in the end I found it interesting.
I agree with you that the world has enough violence in it. I usually don't watch that many violent movies myself, but sometimes it's not about glorifying those aspects but putting them in perspective about what should be or shouldn't be done and reminding people about the consequences that may follow.
BTW, thanks for the review and sharing your opinion with me! I can see that you have a clear standing on those topics and I think that it's very important in our daily lives! I am hoping that maybe you found a film that you thought would be interesting from this article, and if not maybe next time!
Amazing, just like the other ones! You should really write an article about recommending different dramas (from different countries) based on these tropes you are using in your articles! It would help people who don't know what to watch
I am such a big fan of older dramas! I started watching dramas around 2012 I think, so I've watched a lot that aired before 2010. I loved "A Gentleman's Dignity" and "Innocent Man" is one of my favorites! I didn't really enjoyed "Faith" that much but hey, everyone has his/her own taste! The rest of them, I know almost everything about them even if I haven't seen them, that's how popular they were! I think many of them had a special charm attached, and I really applaud you on the hard work you did here (it couldn't have been easy writing such a long and complex article).
If you are feeling nostalgic and want to try other older gems, maybe you will like giving these ones a try: Devil Beside You (2005) - there was not a person back in the day who haven't seen this one
Good Doctor (2013) - an amazing medical drama with Joo Won whose performance is top-notch
I Need Romance (2011) - this is such an underrated gem, I always recommend it to everyone around me
Iljimae (2008) - this is really a must watch, a great historical drama, full of action, great performances and you have Lee Jun Ki
It Started with a Kiss (2005) + They Kiss Again (2007) - if you loved BoF and Hana Yori Dango I can bet you will LOVE those 2. There chemistry is amazing and you will grow along with the story
Ojakgyo Brothers (2011) - one of the best family dramas
Tatta Hitotsu no Koi (2006) - one of my all time favorites, it has a lot of heart this one
