For me, there's absolutely no connection between the two. I don't see where you found a similarity. Strange. Truly…
Well surely ! In very first glance you can tell both the movie and series' aesthetic matches a lot. The cinematography, the use of vibrant colours (red, green, blue, yellow) and most of all the nature portrayed in it. Both are set in small town, cozy places, both the movie and show takes you on a journey that feels very warm and comforting first then struck you with something with edges that hurt and somehow at the end make it up. While in CMBYN it's the summer aesthetic, SHOTLI beautifully portrays monsoon. Even the dynamic between lead characters felt similar to me, Oliver was Elio's parents' friend, there was an unconventional age gap between them. In SHOTLI Chen Li is Xiao Zhi's brother's friend and there's an age gap too although that's shorter. Both the stories are about the experience of first love. The all over feeling of SHOTLI matched CMBYN for me, they were not same but one definitely inspired the other. I don't know if you noticed the pool scenes, the bicycle scenes that so certainly reminds about CMBYN. I very much admire the writer and creator of Secrets happened on the litchi island, he/she truly knows their thing and it shows in the work. They know how to do Queer story and how to take inspiration from good ones.

It's the vision, and if you don't see it that's totally okay, even the lead characters at last episode/movie are seen enjoying their time while reading that same book "call me by your name" the author and creator know what they did and people who watched the movie and this series can very obviously see it, if you don't feel the same then that's your take and totally fine.
Am i the only one or anyone else also think that Lee Chae Min doesn't fit in the role of a angry , arrogant and…
Well I think this one is his best representation yet, I'm loving him. At first I was skeptical about this drama, as much as I loved him in minor roles, I thought this one was not fit for him. But damn only after episode one I was impressed and now finished episode two, I can say I'm loving it more than anything right now and he's nailing his character. YOONA is good as always. Hope you give this a try .
It was really a good show. I started it recently and binged all 11 episodes. I'm surprised by the fact how much I enjoyed it bc I didn't feel like I need a break and come back to complete it. The story was nothing Extraordinary but i love this kind of ordinary, cute fluffy stories. Well the acting of the main leads were little unfixed, but i almost didn't notice it because the rest of the cast did really well. I loved Babe, Hia and Real alongside Teerak's parents and grandpa 💗. They did a great job and I hope Thomas and Kong will surely improve. Overall 8.5/10 for me
The main couple had good chemistry but their story didn't do them justice. Hope to see them in another bl. Loved the second couple, wish we had more of them. The soundtracks were good. Overall a cute one time watch 💗
