I don't think it's Wang Anyu's acting that is the issue in the beginning. It's the script and the writing of his character. However I feel by eps 10 or so his character may get better development. It is usually the case with xianxia dramas.

I am predicting that LTG might end up being YY protector. Not sure yet if she will end up with YL cause of his heart condition. She may just become strong and devote to helping others without being a couple with anyone. I do kind of ship them though since I think they will make an interesting pair.
