Wow this is like another Wattpad story, what is up with China this year with all these types of series? Gives me similar vibes to Embrace in the Darkness with the over-the-top acting and romance tropes
Just finished ep7 and honestly I am absolutely loving this show, which is quite unexpected for me as I'm usually those who are super impatient at slowburn love. This is what I consider the perfect pacing (so far) considering their relationship is one of office romance, I like that they're not rushing things like so many BLs often do, making MC and ML fall in love at first glance.
So I just binged the rest of it, and gotta say this exceeds my expectations for Thai BLs. Usuallywe see a really fast-paced romance story, repeated BL tropes, and lots and lots of cliches. But not here, we see a realistic portrayal of life, of trainees and mentors, and students growing and learning in their internships. Off and Gun did a spectacular job in this series, I could really tell the ages of the characters they were acting, with Off being the experienced and mature mentor near his 30s, and Gun the silly and unexperienced adorable trainee student. Their relationship dynamic is adorable, the pacing is just right. And I love the stories of the other trainees too.
SPOILER INCOMING
One thing I wished they did better was the ending. We get a time skip of 5 years, but then no explanation of what happened during that time. Did they lose contact for 5 whole years? Did they break up? (unlikely) How was Ryan coping with the unexpected lost of contact? We got nothing, just a simple excuse from Jane. I thought that was pretty disappointing.
Would've been really interesting if Ba mhee realised she was a lesbian dealing with comphet, the over the top…
Whaaat this is a spoiler for me TT I'm at ep7 and genuinely thought she was gonna be with her senior, from what i saw her relationship with Tae wasn't really working out, but if her little interlude with her senior made them realise their painfully lacking of communication, then I guess it makes sense for her to end up back with Tae
Cute and sweet. I can see how many say it's easily forgettable as there is no drama in this story, but personally I thought there was just a touch of something extra here that makes me want to come back for a rewatch in the future
Cute but so easily forgettable. Good to pass the time if you just really love watching any BL. I really can't…
I think the reason's pretty simple honestly, it's obvious throughout the series that Ryota has an incredibly low self-esteem. He's not good at accepting praise, and many times it seems he feels he is not as good as Kazuhito. When he's liked by someone he think is so much better than himself, it's no doubt he will struggle to confess his own feelings when he feels so insecure. Ryota needed a push, and Haruna gave him that (thank god for him)
The ending seems to suggest that there will be a season 2 bc there were loose ends and the real villains weren't…
I agree about the queer-baiting, I really don't appreciate it too. It was obvious their relationship was one of love, it was not just bromance, but yet they refuse to just put it straight to us that they were a couple. Why? It's not like Japan has strict censorship rules like China, so I don't understand their goal in doing so.
It ended up with them having some kind of weird tension, which they often try to play off as just being touchy friends who care a whole lot about each other
